Last year DP beat Riverview 21-0 in a defensive game. I agree about the score. I see something similar to last week's 17-13 result against Osceola.

Top counties has to include... Miami-Dade Broward Orange Palm Beach Brevard Duval??? A Tampa county??? This is where it drops off. I'd definitely debate the top 5 or listen for anither county that I am missing

Now do a Brevard/PB/Broward top 10 and see how they match up! Like I said name a county with that many high quality teams and we can have a discussion. Remember how this began - Nolebull trashing Wekiva and Winter Park due to past season results. DP also handled Mainland easily. Carol City squeaked by Mainland.... (and I know CC is Dade I'm just making a south fla comparison). DP lost to TWO OTHER Orange County teams this year. Mainland would probably be #5 or #6 in Orange. I know, surprising. Put it all together Nolebull. The facts are surprising. You don't know what you don't know. The talent has shifted and a lot of Orange County teams can compete like they could not in the past. Volume of good teams is also up

I edited my post while you wrote (look at time stamp) but think the areas are close for #2. Write the teams down and you will see what I mean. STA is more of a regional school but you can count them in Broward/Palm Beach. It's surprising but true. Orange County has gotten way better over the last 10 or so years. List the teams and see for yourself

...and that substance-free post proves my point. Nothing about the game on the field. All about name-brand and past seasons. Won't work with the guys who know CFla. Name the #2 area in the state and we can debate. Every other area has fallen off and does not have the volume of good teams that Orange has. The only larger population centers - Jax/Tampa - both down. You could say Palm Beach / Broward but their publics lose by the same scores to the Miami teams that the 407 teams do. Orange County is bunched in 8A North - none of the good teams play in 6A or 7A. Jones gave Cardinal Gibbons their only tough game outside of Southridge and AHP. Jones would've also been in close games with OC teams DP, Apopka, Winter Park, Wekiva & West Orange had they played. Not only that - these Orange teams are producing very, very good NCAA and NFL players at a rate they never did in the past. Nolebull I know you like to play the alpha male online but as some would say "the lights are on but nobody is home" when you talk about Orange

If you can prove what you just said then do it. If that really happened then it is a disgrace.

Nolebull doesn't know Central Florida. I know that for a fact. I was the one who called him out on that stupid post. He may know other areas and that is fine. Don't give him any credibility with CFLA. He has none. Orange County is #2 behind Miami-Dade. Things have changed.

Tanner is a special player. When he is on offense its over. The refs (I believe) inadvertantly whistled on his first motion-sweep which woulda gone for a TD. Refs also took back a second DP TD. I thought DP was the better team and kept Osceola in the game. DP's defense played lights out - they were juked out of their shoes on an amazing move by the Osceola player on their lone TD. That may have been Osceola's only play over 15 yards. They had the ball the entire 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters, basically. Their game plan was solid. Overall, very relieved. We lost a ton of these close playoff games back to back to back over the years and it will at some point even out. 3 to go.

I believe this is an upset. Vero would have definitely given DP a game like last year. DP beat Riverview 21-0 last year in round 2. Riverview was averaging 40 ppg going in. Have they seen a defense like DP's in SW Florida? I'd guess Venice, and they shut them out. Someone give me the details on Riverview. I remember they had a good QB last year. They won't out-athlete DP.

lol I know I'm just gloating 7-1 last week... This week should be interesting... I got... Wekiva 13 - Boone 0 Apopka 37 - Winter Park 34 OT - legendary Dr. Phillips 21 - Osceola 16 Vero Beach 34 - Riverview 14 Picking DP because I want them to win while being right at the same time. I see it as a toss up.

Crazy that all those transfers at Jones HS lost in a round one game.

Interesting. That's how East River finished 9-1. They avoided competition.

West Orange had a nice season. Agree with Krunk about scheduling. They were probably a 7-8 team in region 1 under the perfect playoff system but no one schedules western Orange County teams. That is a fact and is why DP and Apopka always play each other. When you create bubbles like that the teams just devour each other into lower winning percentages. West Orange County is loaded with talent. The only area of the state with more talent in a smaller area is 305.

Most interesting field I have ever seen in Florida's top class. I haven't done pickem's in a while but will for the top half of 8A. I think we will see some excellent games. Predictions: Region 1 Spruce Creek 14 @ Winter Park 21 Apopka 34 @ Seminole 27 Boone 10 @ Flagler Palm Coast 14 Lake Mary 3 @ Wekiva 10 Region 2 Manatee 14 @ Osceola 31 Davenport Ridge 14 @ Dr. Phillips 27 Gateway 10 @ Sarasota Riverview 28 Olympia 7 @ Vero Beach 35 Right now I like Apopka & Wekiva in region 1, and Vero/DP/Osceola in region 2. My pick would be Wekiva and Vero Beach for the final four as of right now. That would be an amazing matchup of elite offense vs elite defense. Both of those teams can be upset, which makes it very interesting.
