coachog Mainland is one of the best teams in the state you don't have to justify Mainlands performance. I'm not going to make this personal which is why I won't tell you who I rep and it really doesn't matter. I just don't like teams trying to switch classes. I can understand some reasons for it like teams in 4a wanting to be in a district and moving up to 5a which by the way I still don't like it. Put teams in a class and make them play. IT seems like we just give in to whatever everyone wants instead of making people deal with the hand that has been given to them. Good luck to you and if Mainland moves to 8A and makes it to the state title I will root for them. Just like I rooted for Apopka Bishop Moore Osceola Dr Phillips Boone Lake Brantley Warner Christian Seminole and any other team that has made it the last 15 years.

There is only one team in Central Fl with a better resume the last decade than Mainland and three others with similar resumes. You figure it out. By the way your team backed out of a game with them a few years ago.

It is much easier right now to win 8A over 7A or 6A. STA, Venice, Carol City, Northwestern, Miami Central, Plant would all win 8A this year

not a Mainland hater at all. was at the Carol City game rooting for Mainland. The fact is they are 6A and are only trying to move to 8A to avoid Central and Carol City in the third round. Mainland will still kill the other district in 8A. The only thing this has to do with is competing for a championship. Go out and schedule 6 tough teams not in the district if you want better competition. By the way my team is one of the few that has done better than Mainland. But that really doesn't matter.

They would have a few state titles in 8A over the last 5 years. However if the fhsaa lets them move up it is a joke.

another year that DP could have won state. Beat Boone by three scores in the regular season then choked in the playoffs. Good news Pipe Dreams. They won't choke this year because they are way better than anyone left.

Seminole's DJ Hampton broke his foot and will not play. This kid is really good and the reason they are still playing. They have no shot vs DP without him and had little shot with him.

Mainland lost their QB down 14-7 but even worse they've given up 27 points.

Once again blaming others. Apopka didn't get any. Timber Creek didn't get any. Seminole didn't get any. Osceola didn't get any. LAke Brantley didn't get any. IF these schools did they didn't get many and no where near 15. 15 kids don't just show up to one school to play football. Are you telling me Palm Bay, Merrit Island, Heritage don't get kids into college? Kids are going to move around but 15 is a little fishy. Seems like someone has been promoting hard. We will see in a day if it paid off

I love how people justify their recruits err transfers by saying others do it more. Cocoa got tired of getting their ass beat by BTW and went out and tried to stack the deck in their favor. We will see if it pays off on Friday.

I will give it a shot, that still doesn't mean there aren't many flaws in it. Landmark and Avante Garde were just two random schools replace them with Umatilla and Poinciana or Tavares. Bad teams, really bad teams could stick together and make the playoffs by playing each other. It will be interesting to see who tries to manipulate the system. It will be exciting it still won't be fair but unfortunately there is no fair way unless we just give everyone a trophy. At the end of the day the best team in each class will win the state title on the field.

Here is a scenario for you that could happen. All the really bad independents join back in. The worst 10 teams agree to be in a conference together. So lets say Landmark Christian Haines City 0-6 Merritt Island Christian 0-7 Lake Mary Prep 1-8 Wildwood 0-10 Master Academy Oviedo 3-7 Orangewood Christian 2-8 First Academy Lesburg 4-6 International Community 4-6 Halifax 1-6 Avante Academy 0-4 come to an agreement to all play each other. Halifax is the highest rated team according to Laz index at 526 in the state. Someone in that conference will probably go 10-0 and make the playoffs and still really suck.

DP can't pick against them with that defense

2016 DP is a little better but the inconsistency on offense remains a problem. QB Marvin Washington has improved which makes them better. The defense is still one of the best in the state as they were last year as well.

There is no reason for anyone 4A and under being independent now unless they are in like the Sunshine Conference or something like that and I'm not sure if that is considered independent.
