You see it too many times. Teams racking up the wins against local competition get destroyed in the playoffs because there is no where to hide.
Why would it hurt them? According to you it would have been a blowout anyways and been a boring game.

I get losing a game sucks and it would be cool for Cocoa to club some overrated team but the leader vs leader angle is misleading

I bet Troy would be Bama's toughest game so far, so yes.
And it's not misleading, getting to see 2 of the highest ranked teams in a division play each other before the playoffs is cool; your dismissal because you don't like one of the teams is misleading.

Dunnellon racks up wins against Citrus, Crystal River and Belleview's of the world. They lost the only game they played against a team with a pulse.
They wouldn't win the 1A title.

Never said anything about the game being good. Merely said it would have been cool to have had a game between 2 region leaders.
