Here are the responses you get when making common sense statements like bump people up and down.
You are punishing winners.
What if the team just has one good class.
No one recruits in the entire state and the FHSAA will crackdown if it actually happened,
The coach has to be better.
Crappy teams will win lower divisions
The simple truth is that only 3% of current teams have any shot of winning a state title and only 1% have any shot of a d-1 scholarship so the rest are playing for the learning experience. Why not make it better for the masses and not make them get pummeled by a recrutied team that cheats.
When you say D1 scholarship are you just talking P4 or all of D1 in general?

That's crazy.....three trips in a row?
Yea. Atleast that's the word around the spaces

I don't think they ducked but usually when a team either beats STA or comes close or have a close game with STA, STA punishes them thr next year......
Oh I'm not saying they ducked. I'm just putting out what was said. They wanted Cocoa to come back down for a 3rd year in a row instead of making a return trip to Cocoa. Cocoa wasn't going for that. Seemed like it was going to be how the Venice series was set up with Cocoa making 2 trips and getting a home game

This right here is a potential natty schedule.....
What's their district looking like? Looks like they replaced Cocoa with Bishop Moore. Sounds like they were in talks to play again but STA wanted the game at STA for the 3rd year in a row.

Dang Rockledge might end up like Wellington was last year, Palm Bay gotta decent squad back but like you said they ain't the same, and what about Eau Gallie
If Rockledge keeps their interim coach as the HC after spring they will keep the players they have and continue to get more. They will be a very solid team that will eventually challenge Cocoa as the top in Brevard in a few seasons. Eau Gallie will be scrappy for sure but they did lose key players transferring out and brought in a couple as well. I could see them losing a few games

@KeemD321 How good is Heritage, Rockledge and Palm Bay supposed to be???
Heritage lost alot to graduation but they had a good amount of young talent as well. Palm Bay is a shell of their former selves. Rockledge should be solid but that's up in the air until they settle the HC position after the spring

Wow, they have some tough road games this season.
Yup and correction to the schedule. They will be hosting Norland. The surprise for me was that the Villages is in the district. At one point in time it was just Astronaut due to the other teams appealing to move up. Not sure what changed as far as the villages goes

How's Rockledge's coach resigning going to affect their season?
From Florida Today article. "Wayne Younger resigns as Rockledge head football coach. Younger, a former Cocoa High quarterback and a 2010 Florida International grad, coached the Raiders for nine seasons, compiling a 63-34 record. His 2018 team went 10-2, and the following season Rockledge reached the regional final round of the FHSAA playoffs. He confirmed Monday afternoon he has resigned but said he is not ready to comment on his future."
I honestly don't think it will effect it much unless they don't remove the interim tag. If they end up hiring someone else after the spring then they will definitely have a step back and have a max exodus of players

Mandarin, Vero and Cocoa. That’s the 3
Their district didn't do them any favors as far as SOS. Those 3 games positioned where they are will help. But I don't understand putting Satellite as week 1. Eau Gallie and Viera are county rivals. But Eau Gallie is having an exodus of players and have a few coming in. Mainland was supposed to be on the schedule but that fell through. Mainland almost had a tour of brevard lol. Schedule is underwhelming but trying to be optimistic. I see them winning their district easily but losing in the 2nd round of the playoffs honestly

Rockledge schedule, would swap the Heritage and Satellite games. But other than that pretty solid slate of games.

Cocoa schedule dropping Monday. Sounding like it's going to be one of, if not their toughest schedule under coach Schneider

I haven’t heard anything. This does seem way more than they can handle. Since the schedule has been out for a while, I feel like you would’ve heard something if they were stacking talent faster than anyone else. The Coach is from Arkansas, and when he came to Florida to play a game years back, he found the worst team he can find. So it’s ironic now he wants to play one of the toughest schedules in the state. Lol
Only thing I know is that they basically have Leesburg HC from this past season as an assistant/co-HC and made it to where it was a package deal with him and his staff from Leesburg to come over with him. And apparently they were allotted a tremendous amount of funds for athletics.

It's possible that they find their stride by week 5, but at the moment we just don't have the on-paper talent to compete with teams like Miami NW, IMG National, Cocoa, or Bishop Verot. If Venice can find a way to go 7-3 with that schedule I would be happy
I feel like y'all are always solid so I don't see y'all going no worse than 7-3. Biggest question mark for Cocoa is their O-line since they are only returning 1 and on the defensive side they only return their blue chip edge in their front 7

The Bulls @ Venice week 2 confirmed. Miami NW figures to field the best team in Dade this upcoming season and maybe one of their best teams ever with Teddy Bridgewater at the helm. Looks like we'll be overwhelmed going into that game with the graduation of 3 starting offensive linemen, nearly our entire receiving corps and the transfer of Jamarice Wilder to Booker.
Think Venice will be gelling by week 5? Was smart to not play NW and Cocoa back to back this season

They lost 2 players that transferred to rockledge but they should still be pretty decent since they were young for the most part.

Too funny. Classic “Oh Woe is me” Rick.
Yea I guess the game between Mainland has been week 1 for the past few seasons. Which was supposed to stay that way til Deland fought to move it stating that they didn't want multiple road games consecutively

He’s basically saying he doesn’t want to play any teams who could beat them the same way they beat teams last year.
Yup. Looks like they were able to force Mainland's hand to keep the rivalry alive. Mainland agreed to move their game against Deland from week 1 to week 7 lol. Deland should have the offense running smooth by then. They are also scheduled to play Eau Gallie as well, who has been begging for a game with Cocoa lol

Others have attempted to join, but have been denied by the SSAA.
I want to say the SSAA had a deadline and extended it about a week or so. But that extended deadline has passed which makes sense for them denying teams now.
