  1. I think the BTW's time as an elite Dade County power is done. They'll be good, but if they're going to keep playing these tough schedules, they're not going to do what they've been doing earlier this decade. Just my opinion. Curious to see what any other people in Dade think?

Keith Franklin out after two seasons...the Broward County moving van is already in action.

Couldn't be any less surprised. He lost all those kids over the summer because they didn't want to deal with his archaic offensive system. And then the team was awful during the season. Decent talent at the school if you can get them to stay at the school.

Or Buford may not be that good this year but hey we will see

Buford is 4-2 and the only teams they've lost to are DB and Archer, one of the better teams in GA. I think they're good lol.

Either way, I'm taking Deerfield. I still think they need to show me in the playoffs, but so far so good for them this season

First them now the browns I’m so proud of both franchises...next up a DILLARD CHAMPIONSHIP THIS YEAR!!!!!! lol but for real tho congrats Westland

Technically Westland won before the Browns did lol. But I know what you're saying.

Sorry about Dillard though. Maybe if they weren't in Carol City's classification lol.

The head coach Jase Stewart, in my opinion, makes himself come off like a victim in this article. He did plenty of dirt recruiting. Now he's hurt that the kids went elsewhere and coaches as well. Word is he broke promises with respect to paying coaches and they bounced. They're still district favorites but their short run is coming to an end soon, in the next year or so. And I think Stewart will be gone too.

  6. I heard through the grapevine that Jones was in some trouble as far as recruiting/test scores/grades but nothing has come of it as of now.

Jones is what I like to call a microwave coach. Get a bunch of transfers, throw them in the microwave for a few months, and then hope what comes out is a state title contender. Sometimes you get that, sometimes you get burnt popcorn.

Then there are the oven coaches (idk how many of these there are left in the South FL). You develop the majority of your kids within your program for 3-4 years. You'll get some transfers here and there but you're not dependent on them to survive as a team. So the kids can mesh well, and the transfers that do come in should easily adjust.

I just checked game films for the Chiefs.  Of 26 players I watched play, only 2 were transfers this year.  WR Vamir Cadet transferred from Doral and OL Jonathan Weaver transferred from South Plantation.  The vast majority of their players used to be listed on CG's JV squad.  A few appeared to come directly to the varsity squad as underclassmen.  So, here is a team that is clearly building its own talent from within.

I did this exercise because there is a perception that some of the private schools reload their starting lineups every year with transfers.  Am trying to see how much truth there is to that.

FYI-18 of those players are seniors, so Gibbons will be losing a fair amount of talent.

Idk how much he played, but Corde' St. Louis has a highlight from the Dillard game. He's a 2021 kid that transferred in from South Broward over the summer.

  8. Finally got a chance to check out my alma mater last night vs Hallandale. Their defense is legit and will keep them in every game this season, and will sometimes win them a game. But the offense is very limited and will hurt them against Miramar and Plantation (who I think should be the district favorite right now).

Allen Crawford (RB that transferred to Western from South Broward) is legit and will get a ton of carries. But if Western can’t pass, which they struggled to against Hallandale, teams will stack the box and force them to pass.

Funny thing is, just stickily off its location, Krop should be decent. It's not that far away from Norland and Carol City and Hallandale, and Miramar, and North Miami Beach, and ... . A good staff at Krop and it could easily attract talent.

The blessing is the curse. Because they’re located where they are, they also lose kids to all of those schools (getting poached). But you’re absolutely right. They could definitely have a nice squad if the right coaching staff came in.
