  1. I see Luke posted about hiring a new General Manager at Edison is that a slang for A.D? or it's a new position created? I need my Dade guys to fill me in on this please.
  2. Every year you just mentioned compare both rosters, deerfield has the most talent each and every night they step on the field outside of saint thomas I put Vero and Deerfield in the same conversation every year.
  3. Having a roster that has players from 3 counties playing against schools that isn't "allowed" to recruit their talent (which some do but not from other counties I assuming), you should only have 1 losing season. I truly believe that STA, Heritage Schools, Trinity, IMG, and etc should all be in the same district IMO.
  4. Great point didn't think of the push back from teachers, I believe Texas has the same issue with the teachers complaining about the salary of some of the coaches out there.
  5. Yes please simplify, so are they allowed or no? and if so why not more schools pay these guys and if not why it isn't allowed?
  6. Great point there but also having the private schools playing with different rules, regulations and also a different purse gives them an unfair advantage. Look at some of the private schools facilities, equipment, coaching staff, travel operations and etc. But yes like you stated it will probably turn into that have and have not landscape but the current system is out dated for sure.
  7. My question is why doesn't the state allow boosters to raise money for coaches or give these guys incentive performance base contracts? I mean to pay those guys one set stipend if Team A goes 2-8 or 15-0, what is the motivation or carrot for these coaches? But we then complain when the coaches leave for other states that will pay them for the work they do.
  8. And if the coaches are not working around the calendar then their players will transfer out because "X" coach are working around the clock and now you have a less talented program which means you lose games and now you are fired from your teaching and coaching job and is forced to relocate your family all for like a $8,000 supplement coaching job?
  9. I'm just now seeing that the last official day for a few lucky/un-lucky coaches is next Friday December 13th right? That means that these coaches are working from January to January because of the early signing day in December now these coaches are engaged in their programs for 12 months no break and majority of these guys are Teachers first right? because that is what pay their bills I will assume because I don't think the state/county stipends pay the bills in majority of these programs. I know the demands on these coaches is UN-realistic because they do have to work on top of coach "year-round" but that explains the job openings are double digit each year because of the stress that has to put on coaches and their families. Now seeing these games pushed into Mid-December then college recruiting #1, College recruiting #2 (Feb), off season training, 7 on 7's, spring football, summer tours/training, and then fall camp. That is a lot to do for anyone but to have a regular 9-5 on top of that i'm sure can be tough.
  10. This was broken down perfect for me to understand thanks for the information. The Miami Schools are definitely represented very well each year at the championship games and also they travel very well which will make sense for the state to try to get more Miami schools in there.
  11. I don't go back that far when dealing with historical streaks in High School football but I know plenty of you guys are when I read some of you guys post about the history of the schools and counties. It seems year in and year out the Miami Schools dominate the other counties as a whole, I know every blue moon a school from a different county may upset a School from Miami but for the most part the Schools in Miami pretty much run the state when it comes to championships. My question is has it always been that way? or this just currently whats going on and it changes over time to a different county?
  12. 52-7? You are accurate with the Clearwater loss but it wasn't a runaway score again STA could and some say should win this game but I'm telling you this is one team that STA do not want to face in this spot.
  13. Don't know what happen with that game that week usually cancellation like that has something to do with travel but I'm not sure.
  14. This one Palm Beach County Team STA does not want to face here in round 3. Typically STA will face Dwyer in this spot and probably win by 28 or more. But what Coach Jackson built down at Atlantic is a anytime ..anywhere..anybody culture that his players believe in, this will not look or feel like a Dwyer and STA match-up those Delray kids honestly believe they can beat STA and they do not fear the name on the jersey. If you watch any on Atlantic previous games versus out of county opponents their players/coaches constantly repeat the Palm Beach County area code and that is something that is not done coincidentally Coach Jackson and the Atlantic program feels as though they are the true representative of Palm Beach County. Saint Thomas by all means has the better players and can still win this game but my point is, this can be one team that can go down there from this area with no fear and face that program as though they are not what many perceive them to be so don't be surprise if Atlantic win this ball game Friday night.
  15. Im worried now if they lose the game how will the rest of this kid school year look?
  16. Hope that kid gets the help he needs because he definitely have a bright future athletically.
  17. The Outler kid maybe out this game dealing with something bigger than football. https://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/20191114/police-missing-palm-beach-lakes-student-found-is-safe
  18. I believe we see it more in South Florida because of the talent on this end (Dade, Broward and Palm Beach). The more talent you have the small little details coaches tend to let slide until they catch up with you in key situations. Teams that is built like Venice those small details give them the ability to compete with the programs that is very athletic, they may not win them all but they have a chance in most of them because of the discipline. Calling a "spade a spade" some of those issues is what prompt the shut down of the Oxbridge program, they wanted the image of a Benjamin, Kings or Cardinal Newman but they had more of a "Inner City" look on field. Inner city schools will always have issues with the discipline because of how athletic and successful the programs are for as winning and losing. Look at some of the schools we recognize as un-discipline scores throughout the year both football and basketball. It's hard to tell a kid who is 14-17 years old why it's important to focus on the small details when they can spot a team 14 points and beat them by 28. Great example will be Palm Beach Lakes last game I believe they was down by 20 or so and came back to win that game because of the athleticism from front to back.
  19. Agree with the athletes statement and coaching. Athletically Palm Beach Lakes is stacked in every position pretty much only two teams within the county that looked like that and the other is Atlantic Delray. Coaching is lacking at Palm Beach Lakes and not from and play calling standpoint because everyone seem like they copy what everyone else is doing for as X and O's. But Im stating that from a structure and discipline of how this Palm Beach Lakes team is put together. I think when they see the structure of a team like Venice from the way they carry themselves before the game from the way they take the field, leave the field, stretching, and etc. In saying all that if Venice let the athletes take over in one on one situations on the perimeter Palm Beach Lakes will have a really good chance of winning the game. Also Palm Beach Lakes have a really good young back he is a power five guy when that time comes for him if he can get going watch out. But with that being said I will take Venice 31-21.
  20. Definitely will have to line up correctly this week versus that single wing.
  21. Palm Beach Lakes benefited from some movement with coaches around the area and Jack Daniels steeping down from Dwyer, so you speaking about maybe 15-20 guys transferred into Palm Beach Lakes this summer. The staff at Palm Beach Lakes was able to put it together but the only team that can match-up to Palm Beach Lakes in the Palm Beach area was Atlantic but those two didn't play this year. Palm Beach Lakes did open it up on Palm Beach Central who is a decent team but not elite but everyone else they played is below average and some games they struggled out the gates but was able to turn it on late very similar to East Lake. The only reference you can make to Venice would be their K.O.C game versus Rockeledge which they got hammered by 44 points but since then they have pour it on everyone else. I haven't seen much of Venice but from history the last time Venice faced a large school from the West Palm area they hammered Dwyer by 50 points or so.
  22. Very true, as well as the size of some of those athletes in the 90's and early 2000 those were some big dudes on those teams they was beating teams off the school bus walking into the stadium. They had players as well that seem like all they do is lift year round.
  23. Lol very similar to University Of Miami fans. You win they show up and you lose they don't which put tons of pressure on the administration to make changes because they will not show up. Now if you winning it can feel like a college town as well as a college experience at the games. That fan base travel when to school football program is successful, the state love when Glades Central and Pahokee make it to states because that day become a holiday in those communities. "The Last One Turn The Lights Off" is very accurate in those communities
