Thomas got his tail beat off in Alabama. Took over a dynasty team. First coach to not make the playoffs in over 30 years at that school. 1a and 3a are totally different animals.

They will be begging Sturdivant back by game 5. You watch. TC is going to have a South Sumter season. Unless they recruit a whole bunch of kids.

They will fall off the map like Tc ocala. Its sad that you have to lower your education standards to compete.

old school if you cant see that taking a spot away from a boy that has worked hard and deserves something, for a girl that every person in America knows she cant do at that level....then...thats whats wrong with America. Its a 5ft 5 GIRL playing college football at SAFETY and the only tape being shown is her covering an out route on 7 on 7. Its a cheap publicity stunt. If she was not a she there would be no offer. EASY. You will never get me to believe she was the best they could get at her position. Or in the top 1000. Its because she is female. You dont have an issue mr. politically correct with that? Or guilty until proven? I do.

Every super hero is now a femal;e if you havent noticed. A girl just took over star wars and women just marched against the President. Every famous white male is a sex predator....now a female college football player. This is just a stunt for attention. I saw the film. Its taking a scholarship away from near any boy to get some press. Its a girl.

A big part of it is Florida's penchant for hiring " big name" former players that arent coaches. Just because you played in college or the NFL does not mean you are a great football coach. Football is also not a priority in most places because its not really a southern state. High school football is not huge up north, and Florida is overrun by people from the North. Lots of factors in this.

I guess my overall point is that Joe did a good job with the talent available to him. I think more than anything...the Florida transfer rules were set up to try and end private school dominance.

I also meant academically it has gotten tougher to get IN to TC. So just because you are a good athlete does not mean you get to go to TC as is was in the old days. Brantley won his first year and got progressively worse after that. Look it up. The school was changing, and has changed since then.

No prosetye..you dont. Brantley was allowed to recruit. Joe was not. The talent level is light years different. If that is not abundantly obvious to you then you werent around to see Kerwin or Brantleys teams. Thats what didnt "gel". Why would he leave to go to Bellview? Come on. The kids TC used to get now attend everywhere else for a reason. There are no full scholarships to TC. Everybody pays.

There is no hiring committee, no overly aggressive parents when it comes to being an a.d. Getting an athletic director job is easy...sometimes its the person that gets stuck with it. Its also a back door for washed up coaches to get back in the mix with unethical practices as well apparently. Last ill say on it, but this stinks to high heaven. I know a couple that interviewed at windermere. No hiring committee, just the new "head coach". Dirty

See my response in the coach thread. Its unethical, and dirty. Its the same exact thing as a person working for a company that wants a different job in the company...so they throw away all the resumes and applications of everyone else. Anyone that did that in any other situation would be fired.

Thats awesome. Best way to beat your competition is to be the one INTERVIEWING them, then tell the principal you have no good candidates. I hate it when athletic directors hire themselves. Its dirty. Im sure all the coaches that interviewed were very happy to waste their time and be made a fool of. This assures this school that went 0 fer..will be a dumpster fire for years to come.

No it is not. Admin wont just take any kid good at athletics, and its still expensive. TC was very good back before transfer rules and before a more academic focus. Different school now.

I don't think a win would have given TC points because Jordan Christian Prep is not under the Fhsaa. My issue is that these boys don't even get a final game after winning 5 in a row. No underclassmen telling the seniors how much they love and appreciate them. Remember your last game? None of that. They leave after a victory over a team 2 classes higher on THEIR home field last week with nothing. Way to go Jordan _________ prep

Exactly, Coach Sturdivant cant pull rabbits out of nowhere. Everybody else has a schedule as well. Mt. Dora REFUSED to make up that game. Why would they? The young men did what they needed to do, the coaches did a fine job, the system is silly. The recent decisions to turn Florida into the wild west where kids have no transfer rules, and this point system means what exactly? New leadership? If kids work their tails off and get beat by a technicality..whats that teach?

Our country could use some comeback feel good stories. The team that TC just beat? Same team that frog stomped one of the higher classed teams that beat TC in the first of the season, just last week. Neither game was close. The better team now is emphatically Tc. I despise this system. It will kill rivalry games. How many rivalry games are between to teams of different classes? Why play them? The lower class team is in a lose lose.

For anyone that likes the new point system... TC has won 6 straight counting a 5a school forfeiting this week. They have a 6-3 record on the outside looking in. They have played only 1 3a team all season which was a victory. EVERY other game has been against teams of a higher classification. How do you keep this team out of the playoffs for teams that have played lower class teams that won more. It's ridiculous. Now after walking off of the field,victorious over a perennial playoff team,in a higher class, at their house...Thinking hey! We can make a run...The last game forfeits because they are already in and don't want anybody hurt..Now these young men are left with no final game and no playoffs. Is this what we are teaching? Play lesser opponents for opportunity? It's gutless football. What is this..Soccer?
