  1. On a play when Homestead scored a TD, STA committed a roughing the passer foul. The Referee threw a flag, and was going to enforce the foul on the subsequent kick-off. For some unknown reason, both the Homestead Head Coach and an Assistant Coach made physical movements towards the Referee and Head Linesman in a threatening manner, while yelling and screaming. The Referee correctly called an UNS foul on the Head Coach and while the Assistant Coach continued to act in a very aggressive manner, and was, I believe, ejected. He was fortunate that he wasn't arrested. I have no idea why the coaches acted in this manner, since a penalty for roughing the passer was called and enforced on STA.
  2. Homestead definitely proved why the made it to this State Title Game. Their players should be very proud of how they competing against STA, too bad their coaching staff made fools of themselves. The Head Coach was lucky that he didn't get ejected along with the Assistant Coach, whom I believe was ejected.
  3. No, CCC's coaching staff very unwisely called a timeout with 15 seconds left when CM was satisfied with running out the clock. CM decided to make a last statement. The final touchdown was justified.
  4. All right, I will allow that this time. I will tell you about that Apopka-Columbus game, one team will be ready for the game, and will perform. That, I am very confident about.
  5. That was a dead-ball foul on the Field Goal. That was why the penalty was not an automatic first down. Jeff Carlson needs to understand that.
  6. Dan, CCC had plenty of time before that to get players into the game, the coaching staff knew that there was a running clock. Football and Basketball are two different sports, there is no running clock in College Basketball, calling a timeout for substitutions is quite common in the sport of basketball . CM was completely justified in achieving the final score, as CCC calling a timeout in that circumstance was a terrible look. That Coaching staff should have known better, they hopefully know better now.
  7. I don't know why CCC called that timeout Perspective. I do know that there is a understanding that when a team that is winning on a running clock is trying not to score and run out the game clock, the trailing team should NOT call a timeout. That only shows up the winning team and encourages them to keep playing hard until the final seconds, which is what CM did. CM did nothing wrong, and the CCC coaching staff should take this as a learning experience.
  8. Badbird, you WILL be excited for all of the State Championship games over the next two weeks. I expect and demand nothing less!
  9. CCC called a timeout with 15 seconds left. That is why Chaminade Madonna scored the final touchdown. The Education of Dan in Daytona continues, we await the next game.
  10. One team will definitely perform very well in this game. I am very confident of that.
  11. It is a good thing that breaking hearts is not a crime. Otherwise, I might have had to retain the services of a very good to great legal representative. Clarence Darrow, Johnnie Cochran, and F. Lee Bailey are no longer with us, but I would need a legal mind of that caliber for sure.
  12. You know something Dan, for all of the education and lessons that I have provided you over the years, you should be thanking me! It has been a honor and privilege for you to be able to speak with me during this time, and I suppose that that big ego of yours and blue and gold Buccaneer pride won't let you admit what we both know is true. No woman has ever committed a foul with me, but I have been known to have been penalized for non-contact with many ladies after they have had the greatest night of their lives, and they realize that once you go black and white, you never go solid shirt again!
  13. That is not a double foul, that would be considered multiple dead-bowl fouls. A double foul is a live-ball foul on each time during a down.
  14. I am not old enough to be your dad, but if I was, rest assured, you would be developing a much better attitude than what you have displayed on the message board. I will forgive you for now, but you need to be more careful in the future.
  15. No matter how many classes of football that there are, we are still talking about High School Football. If anything, it should be interesting for the young men (and women) who are the players. I expected a lot more out of you badbird, and I am very disappointed.
  16. I didn't know the story, but I remember the game very well.
  17. You are forgiven this time, but don't let it happen again Ray. I am also going to forgive you for not answering my questions this time. Rest assured though, next time that I ask you a question regarding officiating, or anything else, I will not only expect an answer, I will demand one! Do you understand, and have I made myself clear?
  18. Hey Darter, if the football gods align, we may yet see another classic Blue Darter/Explorer state match. Best of luck against PBC next week, and hope to see you the week after if you make the trip down south. Hopefully, the scoreboard won't malfunction in the fourth quarter if Columbus plays Apopka like the last time in 2019 in Daytona Beach.
  19. I have a long way to go for that Dan. As a senior citizen, I expect you to be more "mature", set an example for the young whippersnappers, and not use foul language.
  20. It that is the case, the flags are about 3 weeks too late.
  21. Red flags? I didn't know that there were replay challenges in Florida High School Football.
  22. The football was in player possession in the opponent's end zone. That is a touchdown. I believe that Clarence Darrow, F. Lee Bailey, and Perry Mason would agree.
