  1. Very tough matchup to predict. I will say Plant takes it by a about a field goal, in a game that could definitely go either way.
  2. Glad to see that Plant is making a nice turnaround.
  3. Also want to make sure that this is absolutely crystal-clear, since someone put a "crying face" on my previous post. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT condone the use of racial slurs to describe someone that looks different than myself. I learned Spanish to near-fluency in high school and am continuing to study it today in college. As such, I have had the pleasure of interacting with many wonderful Hispanic Americans and I can tell you, @Ray Icazathey are some of the nicest and most gracious people I have ever met. I was extremely frustrated on Friday night at the kind of language I was hearing. Makes me feel like the clock is ticking backwards.
  4. Venice scored on the third play of the game with a fumble returned by Damon Wilson, and it was all downhill from there. They scored over, and over, and over again, and never took out their starters until the waning minutes of the fourth quarter. There was a moment with about 30 seconds to go before halftime where Venice was up 56-10, and they tried a trick play on a double-fake reverse to Alvin Johnson that went 65 yards for a touchdown. They went for 2 4 times and got it when they were up big. Elliot Washington returned 3 kickoffs for touchdowns, two in the second half. Brutal. What angered me was Venice constantly going for 2. They were winning by 70 points and still tried to run it up. No class from the coaching staff. The worst part, though, was the end of the game. Coach Hepler and Coach Peacock refused to shake hands and instead argued at the 50 yard-line. Coach Hepler called Peacock a "cocky jackass" and told him that he was a horrible role model for his kids and staff, and that he should be ashamed of himself for what happened. Peacock told him that Venice had no back-up kicking team and that they had no choice but to go for 2 every time. Hepler than told him that he would never show such disdain for the game of football that Coach Peacock did. Some kids from both sides got into it and there was a short scuffle at about the 40 near the far-left goal post that the refs broke up. Foul language was abundant, and I heard some racial slurs being used on the field directed toward those of African-American and Hispanic descent. I heard, "You ****** are too weak to play football with us!" And Sp*** can't read the English playbook! Absolutely disgraceful day for the game of American football. The racial words alone warrant a fine against the athletic department. Hopefully, the young men on the field weren't too affected by this and are able to move on. Not good that adults they look up to have to conduct themselves this way. We will move on and be better from this.
  5. I give Harmony major props, as I was the sole, solitary person on this board who thought that Harmony would give Vero hell. They have to play better than what they are doing now. I know that EJ White hasn't been the best, but he is running your offense to the best of his ability so have to give him props there. Vero's defense will keep them in the ballgame against Melbourne. A win will only come if their offense cleans up the mental errors and starts to play better. Gun to my head, I'm taking Vero Beach to win over Melbourne by a field goal, but this game can definitely go either way. Best of luck to the Fighting Indians.
  6. Osceola is a shoe-in. VB currently doesn't have the offense to keep up with the Kowboys, and I don't like TC over Osceola. In order to beat Osceola, you have to pass the ball well and that is not a major characteristic of TC's offense. Thanks for the correction as I did not realize Lakeland would face Venice in the semi's instead. I would favor Bartram Trail over Osceola only by a razor-thin margin, in a game that could undoubtedly go either way.
  7. Calling it right now, the two state semifinal matchups in 4 Suburban will be Venice vs Osceola and Lakeland vs Bartram Trail, with Venice and Lakeland advancing to the big dance!
  8. Vero Beach's defense is as tough as anyone else's in 4S. That alone will keep them in any game. I see them sneaking past Melbourne by a field goal next week in what will be a hell of a game. If Arunson can't come back soon, I can't see them getting past Osceola. Honestly, Osceola might be in the clear to win that region and meet Venice in round 4. We will see what happens. One game at a time.
  9. This comment is not aging well. I said Harmony would give Vero a tough game!
  10. I saw that on Scorestream. I said it could have been the worst blowout in FHSAA playoff history. Glad they shut it down. Central's only test in 2M will be AHP. MNW might give them a few early scares, but I don't think they have the juice to keep up with the Rockets forever.
  11. Palm Bay won't beat Cocoa either. Get your mops out! Lol
  12. Why does it feel like Harmony is going to give Vero fits tonight? Not win but come close to an upset. Maybe it's just me?
  13. There's a rumor going around that Venice might be fined for scoring 87 points. Osceola had a very nice win last night. Deland is much tougher than many think. Regardless, survive and advance is the name of the game! Niceville going down was the surprise of the night. Cocoa is going to stomp Dunnellon into the dirt tonight.
  14. Thought about joining that board a few times. Read some of the posts and now I'm standing clear. What went wrong with that board? Didn't it used to be somewhat respectable?
  15. Congratulations Coach Beek, hope the Eagles make the playoffs next season under your leadership. You have Poinciana heading in the right direction with no argument!
  16. Vero fans terrified that Treasure Coast made the playoffs. Laughing my head off reading some of these posts, although I shouldn't be because we might see them in round 4!
  17. They would beat Martin County, but Osceola should beat them by a similar score as Week 1 if it were to happen.
  18. As @DarterBlue2 said, they will likely get in as an 8 seed. The fact that they are 3-7 and STILL nobody wants to see them in the 4S playoffs, is the best argument in favor of them being in that I can think of. I know that I hope that Venice doesn't have to play them.
  19. Maybe 15-20 years ago this game would have been competitive... Not now! DiIIard huge!
  20. I also feel that Bartram Trail is flying under the radar this year. Extremely underrated prospect in 4S. They have yet to lose a game!
  21. Nobody wants to see Treasure Coast in the playoffs. If Martin manages to make it in, I could see them being a potential dark horse as well. I definitely agree with your point that a record alone doesn't tell the whole story. Subpar competition doesn't prove much. Columbia has turned their season around in a big way after frustrating losses to TC and UC. Will see how they do in 3S. I expect them to get at least to regionals and perhaps, beyond.
  22. Very sad to think that another loss will likely KO Treasure Coast out of the playoffs, especially considering that their next opponent is CMD! Hope the Titans are able to defeat the Lions but that will be a VERY tough game for the Titans to win. Best of luck to TC and their fans!
  23. I feel that people underestimated Martin when they played Vero, not realizing how good they actually were and thinking it would be "easy" to beat them. In my opinion, the close loss to Centennial hurt them more than the 28-7 decision to Treasure Coast because TC is supposed to be sort of the "cream of the crop" of their area, on top of playing the toughest schedule in the state. Martin should have beaten Centennial.
