is there a punchline to that?
Lakeland's QB's was playing at 60% the first 4-5 games, along with a rebuilt OL.
The 36-14 score would not be that close if they played right now.

Apologize in advance if I am getting my games mixed up. I watched some of the Lakeland v Jenkins and if I remember correctly, Jenkins had a young, big qb who was very mobile and who could throw the ball...quite impressive. If I am remembering correctly, who is he? He was moving the ball, at least in the first quarter.
Junior QB named Starks. Good athlete, duel threat kid
But gwdrum is correct, GJ was beating poor teams to start the year. Osceola will pound them.

Lakeland vs Kathleen at Kathleen should be intense. The last 2 games were each decided by 7 points, and historically Kathleen has played the Naughts tough. Back in 2004, Lakeland came to Kathleen undefeated and nationally ranked and narrowly escaped with a win in front of 8500 fans. There were people standing outside the fences listening to the game. It was a repeat in 2006, with nationally ranked Lakeland visiting Kathleen and barely winning.
Kathleen's 5-3 record is very misleading. They are literally 2 plays away from being 3-5
They lost 35-0 to Vanguard and 26-0 to Sebring, both games at home.
Sure they will be jacked up playing their cross-town foe but Lakeland is 5 TD's better than them, and that may be generous only because of the rival factor.

I believe they are still #2 or #3 in the nation. No team, including in some respects Mater Dei looks good against IMG. A couple of IMG mistakes gave that game to Mater Dei. I don't know how anyone can look at one very close defeat to the top team in the nation in 4 years of playing the elite teams in the nation and say that this team is not as good was we think. Columbiafan I think we may have somewhat of a bias against IMG do we not? You, of course have your opinion for whatever reason and your right to a bias, however you cannot deny that this team is the top if not one of the top high school football teams on the planet and does not have to make any excuses to anyone.
True.
8 times out of 10 IMG beats Mater Dei.
That particular night just happened to be the 1 or 2 times they didn't play as well as they are capable, along with a few calls going to the home team.
I will also add that any poll, state or national that excludes IMG is not worth the post it was written on.

In the 1979 state playoffs all-everything LB Wilbur Marshall kicked the game winning FG to beat LWales 9-7. Yes, he kicked FG's as well.
LW featured 2 all-state RB's, one was named Lorenzo Hampton who would go on to star at UFlorida and the Miami Dolphins.
That '79 team was one of the best in LWales school history, but they were foolish to give up their home field advantage against Astronaut and move the game from their 4K seat stadium to 10K Denison Stadium in WHaven.
Even today, nearly 40 years later, many feel that move may have cost the Highlanders a state championship.

Yep. 52-7 and a running clock. And, Middletown is not a bad team at all. They have a pretty good D-1 QB. But, for any team not called Mater Dei, it's a long hard road against the Bradenton All Stars. Don't see IMG losing to anyone else.
I thought the officiating in the Mater Dei game was poor and a little homerism. But that was probably expected going out west.
Lakeland escaped with a W at De La Salle a few years ago but the calls got really bad after the Naughts went up 14-0 with a chance to add another score.
That being said I would put my $$$ on IMG against team in America. The same as last year and the year before.
Right now they are without doubt the top program in the country.

Great work Jessica!

Pinkos had Sebring by 12 over LWales.
We laughed out loud when we saw that.

LWales may be too low.
D1 athletes all over the field, but most of all much better coaching the last 2 years.

I will do that. Were you Lakeland Gator on that board? I want to be sure he knows it's you.
He contacted me, thanks.

No, unfortunately he is not. I had a long talk with him but out of respect for his privacy, cannot disclose the details.
I'm sorry to hear that, he's the reason I decided to join this site.
He and I had great debates and conversations on Dallas Jackson's National Board, but DJ shut it down a few years ago.
Let him know I hope all is well.

Is he still on this site?
