  1. The fake suburban title is great for your team. You and Venice can play each other every year for the title and avoid Apopka, DP and other Orlando/Miami teams. Just cant wait until we all see the vast variety of teams winning state championships now in both levels. It will be same teams in all 9 who win state every year and then lots of teams go independent.
  2. I am sure we will have same 9 champs every year just like now. Not much change except for a few really great teams that lose in semi finals will win a fake suburb title. Many teams will drop out.
  3. Volusia has more people than seminole county as well. Boy that county is getting crushed by this plan.
  4. Do the promotion thing every 2 years to alleviate schedule home and away. Use 2 year composite of record or last 4 years and move up top 20% and drop the bottom 20% from each division. Within 8 years you would have true competitive balance. Teams dropping out of FHSAA for football and playoffs will be side effect of keeping current set up or passing metro plan so the FHSAA better have something real that will move the super cheater recruiting teams and privates in same top division or it will be a mass exodus real quick. I would expect many break off leagues like when South Florida did tri county league.
  5. Plus my school not only will play teams that cheat but they also have double my schools population as well. Sounds fair.
  6. Hey Kowboy fan , you keep saying build up your program and they will come which means get pretty good so the recruits will come to your school which I am fine with. I don’t want anything to change unless it actually solves the recruiting and competitive balance. My Issue is how can my school build up when the metro plan puts 8 classes into 4 and makes district games a demolition derby for my team playing other teams that do actually recruit and cheat.
  7. The Kowboys are awesome but come on. The rest of teams in entire county are beyond bad. The suburb plan will help you win lots of fake state championships when Venice comes down to earth. Suburb plan is dumb and helps few has been my main point. Does not solve true recruiting issue.
  8. Everyone knows Osceola gets transfers from the entire county and have a awesome program. You should be playing the St Thomas, Apopka, Miami Centrals, Northwestern, Venice, Chaminades of the world. Not every program cheats but most of the great ones do. They cherry pick players from the whole county and say its continuity that makes you great please. How many of your players should be at Poinciana or Harmony or Lake t, or Celebration. What a joke.
  9. The FHSAA could put privates into own divisions and that would solve most of the issue and than move teams up who are in top 15% every year so eventually all the cheaters get to play in same division and crush each other to win state.
  10. Nole, you are exactly right. the funny part is it will really only help really great teams who get to the semis and quarterfinals already but just cant win state. They will win the fake state suburban title but screw many more schools who will be forced to cram 8 division into 4 in the metro areas. This junk idea ignores the real issue in the state which is recruiting. How about this. Create a 9th division of any team that gets over 4 transfers in a year and privates schools and that will let the cheaters and recruiters beat each other up instead of on the rest of the state schools who don't cheat. Problem solved. The state legislature might be taking over the whole thing in a year or two anyway and that will create a true chaos of each state rep trying to help their schools. fun times ahead. .
  11. The elite teams will all end up together. Many states are doing it now. Some multiply number of transfers and success to higher classifications. Fhsaa will never put privates in own divisions which would help.
  12. It’s not hard to move to 15 per cent of each class up and lowest 15 per cent down after each year with ratings. I feel like people are not understanding my point. The same 12 schools will always win suburban so who is really benefiting from this whole change. Those schools just make semi finals now. 90 per cent of all schools have zero chance of a state. Championship so why screw them over so a semi finalist can win state. Who cares about those poor semi finalist when most schools will be hurt by this. Check out poor George Jenkins proposed district. That will happen in both metro and suburban squeezing three division into one.
  13. Madison wins now with metro schools. Only teams that beat Naples are called Miami central and northwestern Lakeland won a few years ago and will be in mix. Osceola and Venice already make it now with metro cocoa makes it now with metro. so who is really going to benefit here. Lake Gibson made it a few years ago. so tons of schools are going to get crunched into four divisions screwing over all of them so teams that already get to the state game can win it every year in their division. Jon plan. Do real competitive balance and you will have the support of everyone but the amazing few
  14. Hi Josh. The whole predicting the champs will be the same in the new 9 classes with five in suburb. Madison wins 1a. 5a will be Venice or Osceola.4 a will be Naples or mainland will win for sure. 3a will be cocoa every year. I just predicted all suburb champs. It will be same six to 8 teams every year. in metro. It will be Miami central. Apopka or Columbus. St Thomas wins other one or northwestern and Chaminade. So this plan does nothing to change state champs . Need true competitive balance wherw teams go up or down by performance and get best teams in top two or three divisions playing each other or put privates in own division. This plan sucks
  15. He never mentioned that the administrators were totally against it. Also, how 8-7 AD vote is not a solid approval. He blows off the whole private school dominance issue which accounts for alot of the metro championships. Finally, he acts like there is no recruiting outside those counties which is BS. The whole open enrollment can be traced to a certain Polk county school getting caught if I am not mistaken. Finally, he never mentions how it is possible the same teams will win in the suburb and metro in the future with new idea. The same 3-4 teams will win every year in new suburb as well as the metro. The super teams will continue to win and the other will get to get crushed by squeezing all the metro 6-8 A's into one division. dumb idea that solves nothing.
  16. Jon is only right about one thing. Why dont the suburb schools who do not like the FHSAA just opt out and leave to form their own association like some Miami schools did the Covid year. Problem solved without blowing up who system.
  17. Jon’s team is treasure coast and he is dreaming if he thinks he will beat Venice or Osceola. He and the suburban are just looking out for about 10 teams who have a chance to win a title while sacrificing many schools who will now be playing one or two division up with schools who have twice their size in population. Love how he said some schools have a area of two million to choose from. Give me a break. There is over forty schools in the cities that size and only about three or four who actually recruit and get super teams what about the other thirty five.
  18. https://www.staugustine.com/story/sports/high-school/football/2022/02/21/santucci-fhsaa-cant-keep-kicking-footballs-issues-down-road/6882964001/ Boo hoo. Guess Jon might have to wait two more years to win his first fake Suburb championship. loser. The metro plan was soundly defeated by Administrators committee which he forgets to mention and a 8-7 vote by AD's ids not some overwhelming consensus. Maybe he and the other suburb supporters should just drop out of FHSAA and form own title like miami teams did for a year.
  19. Another idea would be to split state between north and south. Most of state champions come from south anyway.
  20. Your right enrollment can be deceiving but the team who we will be playing are way bigger like 2000 students and they are from more athletic so it will matter to us. It will be a massacre when we are forced to play these teams. I am sure there is a better idea than this split. How about have privates play in own divisions. That will free up two state championships every year
  21. How many teams really have a shot at a state championship. Our 6a school is never going to win one or even sniff the regional final, but at least we are in a district that is close to our enrollment and we have a shot every four years or so of winning a district title and the go to the playoffs and get crushed by a private or metro recruiter school. The hypothetical district in one of the papers puts us in with annual state finalist and two other schools that are amazing. We will lose every district game by double digits. How many suburban teams can even win the suburb title 8-10 So why screw over many teams for such a few to win a fake state title. Until the state either stops recruiting or put all super private and recruiting teams in same division than just keep it the same. Which is what will happen in a week. No reason to fight about something not happening anyway.
  22. I understand the reasons why suburban schools want a change to win some championships. However. The same teams will win suburban championship every year as well . Plus. They act like every metro school gets tons of transfers every year and it only true at the powerhouse metro schools. My biggest complaint of proposal is it crams all metro into four divisions which means 6a schools are playing with 8a schools in same district with 2000 more students than our 6a school. Real fair. Plus. State championships are supposed to be hard to win. The proposal does nothing to stop recruiter of private monsters schools who win most of state rings anyway.
  23. If the plan was so great why was the AD vote 8-7. Hardly a ringing endorsement. The plan is was obviously created by suburbs people without any regard to metro schools. Good luck getting it passed with out a endorsement by the executive director. Let me give you a preview of what the meeting will be. A bunch of suburb coaches and ADs whine on zoom and then the proposal fails. Haha
  24. The outgoing director is right to not endorse this piece of crap idea. The new plan will only help about 5-7 teams win a state championship who keep losing to the private metro teams. The same 12 teams will win all 9 state championships just like now. Go to a real competitive balance and move teams up every year or down according to wins and get all super teams in same few divisions within 6 years. If they passed the dumb metro plan. A hundred or so teams will drop out especially in metro.
  25. Naples needed to improve their schedule if they want to be ready for their annual game with Northwestern or Miami Central in the playoffs. The other SW Florida teams are too weak to get them ready. Scheduling Venice is a good start. Maybe add a Miami team on the road to get ready for possible travel and talent upgrade from weak district.
