They will be well coached. Really good discipline. They don’t beat themselves.

The biggest difference will be athleticism. Cocoa should just spread them out and let their guys do their thing in space.

They should have had two players suspended for pensecola Catholic…not as disciplined as you think

Yes, I know its early and the gold plating hasn't rubbed off last season's awards :D.  However, it's never too early to talk high school football.  With that being said, who are your early 2S favorites ahead of spring football and upcoming '23 season?

    it’s cocoa…. that’s it

  3. only 2 games remain so here’s my ranking of the state champs.. would love to see some of these teams schedule each other next year…

    4) Cocoa

    5) Lake Wales

    7) Hawthorne

wish list for next years regular season games of state champs

    Cocoa Vs Lake Wales

Plus, they recruit well. Just ask Seabreeze HS.

kid leaves a school… he must have been recruited…or he wasn’t being developed, wasn’t being challenged, maybe the kid is a full back at an air raid school…

and if you got proof cocoa recruits submit it to the fhsaa or shut up with your baseless allegations.

  5. i believe cocoa’s trenches and depth is their biggest advantage over bradford and FSU/bishop verot. cocoa only has june player that goes both ways and that’s their ohio state commit ced hawkins. when he’s not in of offense they have a young stud nikki teeter who played for 24k last year and has 6 TDs this year.

Back to their online they average 6’2.5 287 and have not given up a sack against a 2 S opponent…

    LT-Messiah Robinson 6’3 265

    LG- Xavier Solis 6’1 315

    C Johnathon Joiner 6’2 275

    RG Damien Seymour 6’5 320

    RT Jaquez Joiner 6’3 260

There was a flag thrown following the last Cocoa score, it appeared that the ref signaled one of the Cocoa players was ejected, possibly Day Day Farmer. If so, he or whoever will have to sit the next game. Any word on if the team is going to appeal?

no i believe he was just sent off and not at risk to play… i saw a video on twitter of bradford number 55 coming off after punches were thrown and a baker county kid laying on the field… hope both teams are full strength should be a good one

  7. Cocoa has been dominate against 2S opponents all year outscoring them 350-16.

This past weekend they routed 12-0 #1 seed South Sumter 35-7 and that 7 came on the last play of regulation.

Blake Boda has thrown for almost 3500 yards and 45TDs while rushing for 3 more. This lefty should be a lock for 2S player of the year and maybe dairy farmers player of the year.

They have one of the best WR groups maybe in the country led by (2) 4️‘s… 23’ Ohio State commit Ced Hawkins and ESPN top 300 24’ Day Day Farmer. They also have a huge target in 6’5” converted basketball player and 3️ Kyon Calhoun. They have 7 players with over 200 yards receiving on this team, 9 players with receiving TDs, and 11 have caught a pass from boda.

Their entire starting oline returns next year and has not given up a sack against a 2S opponent. Senior RB Anthony bridgewater has rushed for +500 yards behind them and 4 TDs but man can he pass block. This converted LB along with sophomore Malachi will make you regret blitzing!

Defensively, their entire secondary is committed or holds a D1 offer, they have 2 of the top ‘24 LBs in the state with Samadre Hawkins and Davion Parham. There DL is big, athletic, well coached and anchored by 3️ Loren Ward and senior Dorsey.

Cocoa has 5th year HC Ryan Schnider at the helm looking to make it to his 3rd state final as a Tiger. He won state championships previously with U School and St Thomas. Early on, Coach Schnider was critized for the teams 2-2 start losing to jones on the last drive where they sacked his QB for a safety and the getting beat soundly by his former program. Those 2 loses don’t look to bad anymore as that’s likely the 3M state matchup. They also lost to seminole in OT but that game unfortunately probably cost seminole their shot at a state title. Seminole’s FAU QB Commit hasn’t played a snap since that game.

Lastly, one of their biggest advantages is Coach Schnider has assembled an impressive staff around him with 3 former head coaches on staff, a former NFL player,  9 military veterans, and almost every staff member played college football. Having this type of staff with the current state of coaches pay in Florida is pretty crazy!

This isn’t a good team, it’s a good program and i can’t see anyone stopping cocoa this year

It was a sloppy game by both and Treasure Coast won on a last minute field goal.

To me the biggest game that showed alot in Brevard was the Satellite v Palm Bay game.

It’s too early to call Palm Bay fake… sat has a really good defense and held Palm Bay varsity to 1 TD 4 completions in 3 qtrs…

with that performance they have absolutely no chance against Cocoa… prob lose to them during the season and then in the regionals…

In Brevard the top 2 are Cocoa and Rockledge.

Merritt Island and Melbourne are looking to make noise again.

The talks around Palm Bay is that they are on the rise but they've been saying that for the past 3 seasons since they have a highly ranked DE that is back healthy for his senior season. But we will see how far they have come when they play Cocoa in what should be the district championship game.

Bayside has some playmakers and should be improved.

My dark horse in Brevard is Heritage, the young core they had in 2020 is still together and should have the experience now to go along with their talent.

And of Eau Gallie should be improved with the talent they've had and still have. But we will see if they will be able to back up all the talk they've been throwing around on twitter.

Cocoa got about 13 transfers and they are loaded… playing some big time games against Jones, St Thomas, Seminole, Rockledge, Melbourne and one TBD

Rock doesn’t have the traditional big oline they have relied on in the past but they are easily the number 2 team in Brevard and picked up about 5-6 transfers… it will come down to their junior QBs progress coming off a collar bone injury last year

Merritt Island- lost everyone, coaches and players… tough year for them but got a good QB.

Melbourne, only team in the county I believe other than Cocoa that can beat Rockledge this year

Eau Gallie… young team with promising talent (lot of offers) but coming off a disappointing 3-7 season. Their schedule is not impressive which most would assume that means the coaches aren’t confident the young team is ready for prime time

Palm Bay…. Burke is back but they are fake news and in a tough district with Cocoa

Would be a good game and likely would have Venice playing both Cocoa and Rockledge in one season. An awesome pair of games against two teams that will be heavily favored in 2A.

Apparently, Madison County and Venice both need Week 10’s. How funny would it be if they scheduled each other and Jesse wasn’t hear to discuss it! Lmao

Rock doesn’t play anyone… they recruited half of vieras team and still won’t put anyone on the schedule… they will likely have negative yards vs Osceola too haha

I agree with everything you said, until the last sentence or 2. I know that it’s hard to detect sarcasm on the internet but I don’t like that you think Cocoa might not be able to keep pace offensive early, making it seem as if Cocoa has already lost 5 months before the game is even played. They certainly will have the firepower to do it, especially if Ross and Turner are returning. You guys should know that you have as good a shot as anyone else that Aquinas has scheduled thus far to knock them off.

Ryan Schneider is a great coach and as you said, was the OC at STA for several years; indicating that he has inside knowledge of the Raiders’ program that will assist them when it comes time to watch game film for Aquinas. I know that this contest isn’t being played in Week 1 but I believe that this game deserved the ESPN spotlight more than IMG vs Venice. IMG is going to beat us like a drum unless something spectacular happens. But you guys have a real chance at coming away with a victory against one of the top ranked teams in the nation, and in their own stadium to boot! I know I usually root for South Florida and am a bit of a homer but this time I’ll shed my bias and root for the Tigers to bring the victory home.

    Go Tigers!

I bet Venice shocks IMG…. They have actually been losing a lot of kids…

cocoa st Thomas is suppose to be on ESPN Week 3…

Passemore who signed with UConn was a starter on the OLine and DLine

Passmore played about 20% of the defense snaps…

defense only loses Malik Lewis and Virgil “Swipe” Marshall… ton of young guys competing for their spot that collect their first D1 offers last spring as underclassman

Cocoa has a good young QB and supposedly one transferring in to compete

No one is worried about WR or RB… it’s Cocoa they everywhere

Cocoa recruits its self in brevard county. 16 years straight final 4 or finals. Its like the Field of Dreams if you build a winning program  they will come.

Cocoa don’t recruit… players show up every offseason wanting to be part of a college like program. Wilk started it and Ryan continues the winning tradition.
