Not sure why. You can tour colleges and see shiny big buildings in the summer. You don’t have to get on an airplane, go get your players embarrassed by getting their ass whooped out of state, and then come back. That doesn’t seem productive. And the sad thing is these players will remember the ass whooping the rest of their lives. They won’t remember some stupid museum or tourist attraction. Smdh. I wish more teams that have no shot at a state title would join this league. That way they can consolidate classes. There are about 100 teams that would fare better in a league like this

Yes it seems the kids living on Marco Island would go to Lely High. Marco Island Academy is a tuition free public charter so I’m not sure if the kids have to go there or can choice out to somewhere else Naples High is 21 miles so if you had a good football player you might want to get them in there. If Marco Island Academy folds their team then I’m not sure if they are allowed to go play for Naples or Lely outright

I was updating my 2022 results and noticed in 2021 I was missing a potential score You guys were scheduled to play Lake Region Sept 17, 2021. maxpreps say Lake Region won 12-0 scorestream says it was 0-0 implying the game was never played and I can’t find any mention on Twitter what say you????

Celebration is really bad so that’s an auto win. Toho is a good team for Poinciana to play for sure. Foundation is hit or miss because they are a very small private that can get really good or really bad very quickly. Right now I’ll say that’s an even. Celebration went 1-9 and beat Toho. Not using hyperbole but that’s gotta be the biggest upset in the entire state. Please let me know of a bigger one

I would go a step further and only count the boys for boys sports and girls only for girls sports. Ohio does that

Mad Co had their worst season in 30 years. They are not used to this type of losing. Coach Coe is surely missed. Price Harris might be a good coach. But not every team is for every coach. I know it’s only one year but the cupboard was stocked. This type of drop off is eye popping. Did he run people out? There has to be a deeper reason to the historic down slide

With 6 playoff games you can drop the regular season to 9, or keep it the same. Texas plays 6 playoff games. The thing about the FHSAA is the are NEVER gonna make a move that decreases the gate money. That’s why we have 9 classes now. If they chopped it down to 5 as it should be, that gate money from 4 watered down playoff brackets gone. And that ain’t gonna happen.

I love the idea. Texas does something similar at their top classes but they determine it by enrollment after they finish in the district race. I believe they still do it. They take the top 4 teams in the district and send the 2 with the largest enrollments to the Division 1 bracket and the 2 smallest enrollments to the D2 one. So the idea is similar. And I think it’s a great idea. Some teams might intentionally lose the district so they can play in the bush leagues. Lol.

But I don’t think that is happening. Teams are not keeping their starters in the second half up by an insurmountable lead. Usually the 60 plus point games do have the bench emptied for the winning team. The losing team just can’t stop the backups and third string. That tells me they are closer to junior varsity than varsity. and the top teams like Miami Central in St. Thomas Aquinas are not the ones beating people by 60 all the time. 1A Rural Wildwood and beat 2S Eustis 62-0. Flagler Palm Coast beat celebration, 70-0. these are not powerhouse teams in any stretch or in any context. in my opinion, teams like celebration and Eustis should not be playing varsity football
