Cocoa probably wanted to win by 50 against EG. when you play the local teams you want to beat the tar out then. Hell you would want to do it for transfer purposes. Show the local kids who the big dog is.

There is only so much info someone can go by. Each week things can change. You have to analyze the info you have. So if a team struggles with an inferior team, you have to take that into account.

But even if you are toying with an inferior team, you should still be able to dominate them. I don’t think coaches say let’s go play half ass and get in a dog fight with a team that looks at us like their Super Bowl

Lakeland was a good win for them, but they gave up 34 and then didn’t play another soul all year. Hell Lakeland hasn’t scored 34 all year and that’s against inferior opponents. I know Norland has an offense, but when they run into a team that can match them a try elite for athlete they are gonna get in trouble. Can’t wait for Norland vs MC. It will be the first test of the season for Norland

You misread it. When I did the rankings, I bumped AHP and STA over Norland. They are playing at the same level as Norland except they are playing way better teams. So bumped STA and AHP above them this week. And Norland finally gets a chance to flex their muscle and give people no doubt that they elite, and they can’t do it. They are still high ranked no doubt, but they just aren’t in the same caliber as the elite teams. Yet; beat Miami Central by 1 and we’ll talk

And Cocoa didn’t beat STA. I already posted 2 videos of teams losing the game while they were in victory formation. Either way Cocoa and STA are very close. I do believe STA would have beaten 2-3 Jones by more than 2 points though. And I think they would have been up by more than 14-0 at half against a team like Eau Gallie. Either way both are favored to win out and win state

And just because someone wins a head to head doesn’t mean they stay above them no matter any other results. Should Treasure Coast stay above Seminole no matter how many times they lose or what their results are? A few years ago Jesuit beat STA by 3 at home on a days notice of the game being formed. STA drove up the day of the game when the contract was signed the day before. Towards the end of the year STA was a well oiled machine and Jesuit was barely beating horrible teams. There was no doubt for people who follow football that STA was a better team late in the year

Yeah and they didn’t cry and complain that things were unfair. And Dade always had more population than the North Florida cities. The South Florida teams took their lumps and got better. Then as soon as they start to rise to prominence all of a sudden it’s not fair. Was it fair in the 80’s when the panhandle dominated? How come there was no split then? It’s messed up. Back in the day 9-1 teams would miss the playoffs. Now 1-9 will get you the number 1 seed and home field advantage throughout

I’m not saying it’s hard to rank them at all. Of course they should be ranked. It’s hard to find out where since the teams above and below them all have better wins

Booker T with another close loss to a better team. They are so hard to rank. They only played either really bad teams or elite ones. They handled their business against the bad ones, and competed admirably against the elite ones. So it’s hard to judge them other then not getting blown out by Norland and MC

Looks like it was a good call this week for me to drop Norland under STA and AHP. Right now Chaminade is tier 1 with MC, STA and AHP tier 2 followed by Norland, Columbus, Cocoa and Edgewater as tier 3

Manatee hasn’t played anyone yet, so this will be a great gut check for them. The only reason I’m saying it will be close is Manatee seems to get up for this game. They always play Venice extremely tough when they aren’t hot garbage of course. Lol

What happened was Baker High and Union County won a combined 7 state titles in the 80’s and 90’s beating the living crap out of privates year in and year out then teams like University Christian, North Florida Christian and Glades started to emerge and have some success and all of a sudden ITS NOT FAIR!!!!!!!! The Rural teams cried they can’t compete anymore even though that myth has been debunked. A few years ago a 1st round loser in 1A rural beat the state champion in class 2A (the old unofficial private school class). Last year rural class 2nd round loser Pahokee beat 1S State Champ First Baptist by 2 scores.
