Oh wow , thanks for the insight I would’ve never known. When I looked them up the school looked big & nice. And from what I hear from a few people up that way they say JC has a huge following, and on game days the entire city shuts down to come support, even getting support from neighboring high schools when they themselves don’t have games.
add them being (10-0) i thought they were a dominant football program. I’ve never heard of them but I do know they were in the state semis last year. Idk if that’s because they were on the rural side of things during the whole metro rural fiasco but either way I look forward to Friday night.
They’re like St. Edward’s another private school up here. Give or take around 400 kids total, a lot of scholarships and discounts given out to get kids into the school so not as much money coming in and stadium isn’t the priority. The money is then divided up between all the athletics and even academics leaving a lot smaller budget then a typical private school much less a public school. I mean I don’t think Rockledge even had field lights until the early 2000’s when they started winning championships, some schools just can’t afford it. JC hasn’t had a long winning legacy, with boosters behind them and alum like other schools, on top of a very small fan base to make the financial moves to make these multi thousand dollar upgrades I’m sure they wish they could. Most people when they want to watch football on the Treasure Coast go to Vero or Treasure Coast HS games. I went to HS with a lot of kids that transferred to Vero just to play sports because of the bigger program and better facilities/equipment.
Omg are you serious ? All that money into that school and they don’t even have a half decent away side. Glad I’m going to be there a hour or so before kickoff.
but what’s crazy is that we have a huge alumni following & they’re suppose to be getting a fan bus & if our band comes they have 250 members.
how the hell is that gonna work lol
Some advice for Dillard fans coming to the game. JCC's visitor stands are terrible, and about the only way you'll be able to see is to get on the top row and stand. Either that, or sit on the home side. We usually stand in the end zone fence when we go to a game here. The visitor side stands here, and at Cardinal Newman are the two worst visitor side stands I've seen of all the places in Florida that we've been to.
It is impossible for Buchholz to beat Lakeland this season. Not a homer take: they are in different classes.
I agree with Darter that Edgewater may well beat Lakeland. Lakeland's offense has mostly looked average, due to a combination of subpar OL play, and poor play-calling. (The caveat is the play-calling may have been deliberately poor to confuse future opponents.) Lakeland's players are teenagers like everyone else's players, which means they are prone to ignorant or immature assumptions about their opponents. They took Lake Mary lightly, didn't prepare well, and deserved to lose. They can repeat that vs. Edgewater. In fact, due to geographic bias, I think many players may assume it'll be Tampa Bay Tech that they face. I think that is wrong, they'll host Edgewater, and they may be silly enough to overlook them.
