9. Delray American Heritage at Naples

Where: Staver Field, Naples
Why: This is another Week 1 rematch of last year that saw the Stallions come to Naples and walk out with a rare 20-14 win. However, the Golden Eagles would like to not repeat that storyline again against the 2015 Class 3A state runner-up at home for the second straight season. American Heritage, which a lot of people think could make it to Orlando once again this season, is back with another roster that is talented and will play a solid schedule this season once again. Naples might have a lot of new faces stepping up into starting roles, but they don’t expect much drop off after making a deep run to the state semifinals in Class 6A last season. Naples ran away easily against St. Petersburg Lakewood in their preseason kickoff classic with a 40-0 win, while American Heritage suffered a close home defeat to Gold Coast Football Conference member Key West, 27-24. Overall, expect this year’s game to be very close once again on Friday night.
