I agree with "they wont be back because the never went anywhere". They have always been right there in the frofront with BTW since Harris came back to BTW and Wilks took over at Cocoa. It will only get better in the next few years. Cocoa returns a lot of talent and BTW reloads and pulls in from a large talented area.
 
If Cocoa goes north it will get interesting in 4A. I'm thinking Wilks is ahead of most in planning for that with the schedule he is building. Several OOS of moderate strength and 1 power team to boost the SOS. In my opinion Cocoa needs an undefeated schedule when facing BTW next year to make it a mega game if they land in the North and Cocoa wins the Nort it will be fun to see what happens.

Without a doubt. Say what you want about that school. Because I've heard it. I also have some knowledge about them and Trinity. But I digress. Lol
Anyway, they have consistently been successful. There facilities look like a small college. They do a good job. That can't be argued. I know they beat BTW but that ONE TIME isn't good enough. Again. I'm just glad it was a good game and it would have been cool to have another champ in my new hometown. But they have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of and I know they're not.

This is an excellent opportunity for other guys to be seen one last time and get D1 offers they deserve!

Both are playing lights out and should get that extra game that FHSAA allows. 
 
Remember that signing day is only 45 days after the these bowl games and other states have stopped playing.  It will be the only games in the Nation and a captive audience for scouts/recruiters to watch on ESPN (besides All Star games).

Had a great time at the game.  Met and sat with JB40.  He was a gentleman.  He didn't gloat..  I learned a lot about football as he has been a football coach.
 
You are correct.  AHD turned the ball over and their quarterback was off.  However, Trinity was definitely the superior team and deserved to win.

STA- Looking forward, and past Osceola (I know I shouldn’t but I expect the score to be around 42-6 *)… * I do hope it's less than 6, before the playoffs I said STA wouldn't give up more than 25 for the 5 games.
 
Thoughts on the Burger King State Champions Bowl Series:
 
STA should play BTW or MC (I prefer BTW since they will have the 40 game win streak by then)
 
Bingham, UT- The only worthwhile team to accept so far.    
 
Bellevue, WA- got their A$! handed to them last night and lost by 22 (their 67 game win streak is over and they had previously declined the invite- very prophetic!)
 
It doesn’t appear that there will be a team nearly as good as Bingham attending.  That means 1 good team for one of the 3 Big FL teams to play. 
 
I propose the 3 games should be-
 
12PM:  AHP/Columbus/Apopka vs. Unknown OOS-  Any of the 3 should beat the OOS by 2 TDs
  4PM:  MC vs Bingham-  MC should win by 2 TDs
  8PM:  STA vs BTW- I have STA by 10 on this one

I guess you didn't get the humor. Well done for your guys. You're on the way! I'm headed up to O-town in a few to go watch our boys get their GLORY THEY SO RIGHTFULLY DESERVE!!! Lol!

HSDAD you bring up excellent points. I'd love for our D to give up less than 14, however I feel maybe late EL gets a score or two. This game to me is a mismatch in every phase of the game from coaching down to blocking and running.

I believe the big difference between this year's playoff team and last year's....  Starters are healthy.  If I recall, STA was missing 5 starters from injury for the Dwyer game last year. 
 
I would like to see this D give up no more than 10 on Friday.  They have been one of the strongest D's I've seen this year.
 
Additionally, as long as the OT/TE keep the ends from running down our backs, we should be fine.  I've seen too many times, this year, where they don't chip the end and Scarlett/Sands are caught from behind in the backfield (this happened last year vs. Dwyer).  Also, I see where EL has Campbell play end sometimes, they must put a body on him, he’s too fast to be set free.
 
Lastly,  STA has to make sure their blocking backs keep their head on a swivel.  I’ve seen 2 fumbles where the RB gets tunnel vision on the center of the field and misses the end and gives up a hard sack on Rizzo .  Look around guys, protect your QB.

Crest? Is that a HS? No man I went to school down here in FL. Played and later coached all in the Tampa area. Now I'm up here in Jacksonville doing my thing. What I was referring to was playing football at Gardner-Webb University.   

Flanagan for some reason reminds me of South Dade last season, Columbus has had good runs to the 3rd round in years past. When was the last time they were playing in the Semi-finals though?
I have seen a good amount of film on both Columbus and Flanagan and I think this game will come down to Columbus' defense. Flanagan has an electric offense and even though they are without Bush they still have a very opportunistic defense. 
Columbus' defense will have to come and play like they have the last three games and really all year. If they do Columbus will be playing next week in Orlando it is as simple as that really. 
My pick though: Flanagan by 3. The Falcons get the job done and get to Orlando.

This thread title though could not be more right. Same can be said for whoever they play. Both Killian and Belen seem to be quietly good this season.

I have Heritage Delray winning the class this year. They are a complete football team this year with playmakers spread across the field. Crazy how much they improved from last years team. That CCC matchup should be really interesting though. I think JTC has shown some vulnerability and will be beat in the final.  

Isn't that what makes the "second season" so much fun? The kinds of explosive matchups we get and the sometimes shocking outcomes. Always love that quote "that's why they play the games!"

I agree. Wiley is a very good coach in my opinion and you do have a point on the strength of schedule. I will be keeping an eye on that Cocoa game as well. I think Cocoa has a pretty good team this season, but sadly I think Booker T Washington has their third straight title at least in their sights. 

Wish they were Miami bound . I think their program started up in 2004 as well. Excellent accomplishment for the young men and their school! 

There's no denying Corky and his staff know what they're doing. BUT....they aren't playing. Their kids will be prepared and will have a good game plan. But don't think Raines is just going out and try to "out-athlete" them. Wiley is a good coach too and IMO Raines has played some tougher opponents. That's what I mean by battle-tested. Guess we'll find out soon enough. (Btw, have no affiliation with either)
 
Interested in that Cocoa game too. 

I know he had over 4400 for the season and over 15000 for his career. He was on the right team at the right time. Hopefully he can preform as well at the next level.

I agree I am hoping Raines pulls this off, but I pick with my head haha. Truthfully would not mind seeing another Bolles/BTW matchup in Orlando, but also kind of want to see someone different come out of the North this season.
Raines is an excellent team so it would not shock me at all to see them beat Bolles twice which brings me to a question. How many times has Corky Rodgers and Bolles been beaten twice in the same season by the same team? 
Probably not very often. 

A monster game for Broward County football at the 8A level. Flanagan fresh off their 49-28 W over Coral Springs gets a well rested and dangerous Monarch team. Flanagan lost their stud LB Devin Bush to a broken wrist last week which is going to hurt them I think.
Monarch has had the chance to send their coaches to that Flanagan/Coral Springs game and scout Flanagan a little more. I thin that could help the Knights a little more than people think.
I think this is going to come down to how well the Monarch defense can contain that high powered Flanagan offense which is easier said than done. Just ask Miramar and Coral Springs. Even though Miramar only let them score 27, that was a down game for the Flanagan offense. 
In the end I am taking Flanagan in this game they seem to be playing some excellent ball right now and thats who I am going with. Flanagan by 14.
