Let me say this. I attended all 3 games St. Thomas, American Heritage and Flanagan and I gotta say Miramar had those 3 in all phases of the ball. The reason why Miramar lost was due to lack of discipline and coaching. I can tell anybody and bet money on it that if coach Cogdell was still running things we would have went 10-0. When these boys start transferring from one school to another I completely get it because of coaching. I can't remember which opponent it was St. Thomas or American Heritage, but I just know it was a home game and you could literally see one of Miramar players acting out of control and wasn't listening to any of the coaches. As a spectator like everyone else sitting in the stands we're all in shock for the fact that we never witnessed something like this before or at least I haven't.

Miramar went to states in 2011, 1st year they're in 8A and lost to Plant ending the season 13-1. Just thought I'd share that. Anyways I think Miramar has a strong bid for 8A title this year, although there breaking in a new but one thing is for sure they've always had a stellar defense.

@STARaiders2014 If you're looking at your roster yes you lost a lot to graduation. Maurice Alexander, Antonio Callaway, Mark Walton and Vaquan Smalls which are big holes to feel as well as others. Yes talent came in but who's to say there good. Remember transfers came from Miami Springs, Gulliver Prep, Pace and Northwestern but I'm just speaking in general terms I know these transfers are good. So now if you're a coach I'm sure you're trying to keep whatever pieces you have because you lost one to St. Thomas and Central which is why I understand why a coach would steep to this level. I think it's inappropriate but I understand it.

I get that these boy's want the best opportunities presented to them for their college future but transferring I just don't understand. Booker T. Washington is a national power so coaches all over the country know of this school. I can see if you're at Miami Beach, Miami Sunset, Krop, Edison and so on, then transferring would be good. Now granted the 3 year's Earl Tillman was coach 2008-2010 there record was 28-9, but today is new a Era and hopefully he learned from the past and will do great this season.

Yeah I was just going to say that about Miramar and St. Thomas. The last time Miramar had been to states was in 2011 and lost and before was in 2009 and won states. Miramar and St. Thomas over the last four last years have had close games 3-1 in favor of Miramar, although it should have been 4-0 but Miramar had some issues this past season that I won't get into. But yeah.... I think Booker T. Washington will be ready for St. Thomas but now the question should be will St. Thomas be ready for Booker T. Washington. Unlike the last time St. Thomas played a dade school which was Northwestern it was a little different because Northwestern has went downhill. On the other hand, Booker T. Washington is another breed and hasn't strayed away from competiton over the year's and I won't lie they've won some and lost some. Anyways this will be a good game and I'm so excited and can't wait. Let's go Tornadoes.

@STARaiders2014 Who you got and don't say St. Thomas because that's your school. Oh Booker T. Washington has 5 transfers from Pace one Northwestern two and Miami Springs two.

I rep Miramar and of course I'd like them at 15-0 but that's a hard card to pull. 2009 season had only one lost which was to St. Thomas 14-1 with a state title and In 2011 we went 13-1 and the only lost came from Plant state title game. So again, I'm not knocking anybody and sure I'd love for a 15-0 season but I'd take something else along with a state title. I don't know why people feel like you must go undefeated for a superior season shoot winning a state title should be the ultimate goal if you ask me.

I don't understand where all of this animosity towards the Booker T. Washington is coming from but it needs to end ASAP. Now everybody knows you can't compare North Florida to South Florida because it's a whole different bread of athletics down here, however if Columbia played the tornadoes in 2016 because I'm sure 2015 schedule is probably almost complete if not completed already that Columbia would lose.

@columbiahighfan now something that makes sense yes losing their coach may make difference especially if the replacement is someone from outside the program... But your arguement makes no sense because they already play top notch teams in the bigger classifications throughout the year and it hasn't beaten them up yet. Just say what you mean that you have no respect for the lower classifications, you seam to forget the beatdown Trinity put on ya'll, and bitter because Columbia doesn't get the respect "you" think they deserve. I wonder how well Columbia would do if they played tougher teams in 7A-8A or heck even played tougher teams from the south?

Booker T. went from 1967-1999 as a middle school then reopened as a high school 1999-2000 year. I don't know if they played each other back in the days, however present day starts from 2008. Central can easily drop 15,000 Booker T. I don't think can maybe 7,000. Anyways the last 2 years game's between them were good and both came in the top 2 teams in Florida and both were in the top 25. Over the last 8 years every game has been close except one year where Central won 17-0. As far as rivalry goes these are the best in Miami and running Miami at that. Now they don't have the classic battles at the Orange Bowl, Traz Powell or even FIU or 25,000 plus attendance crowd, but Traz Powell of the present is bringing some exciting games. Another thing I wanna add in is people only come out if you're winning. From the last 8 year's Central record is 80-12 with 4 state titles Booker T. record is 83-11 with 4 state titles and a national title.

That and also some bone headed decisions by players in games which really I think cost you guys the STA game this season. However, with the right coach Miramar will be back and will be a force in 2015 no doubt in my mind!

@muckboy561 When yaw beat Booker T. Washington then holla at me or Blanche Ely at that point. See you was running your mouth saying Glades Central was gone be the champs in 4A and they weren't. 35-7 does that ring a bell and if Glades Central played Miramar right now they'd lose and badly at that. Oh and you don't need to tell me who I shouldn't or should be worrying about. I'm from Miami born and raised until I moved to Broward County and I support all schools especially inner city black one's and I remember when you were on here talking down on Booker T. Washington, but I guess you can't give it and take it lol.

Flanagan has never been district champs nor beat Miramar in school history so to do both in the same season is remarkable but the praises for Flanagan stops here. Nobody can sit here and tell me that blowing leads in the game midway during the 3rd going into the 4th quarter is acceptable. In my honest opinion we should be sitting here 9-0 not 6-3 fighting for our playoffs lives. Also when you have players on the sideline fighting each other because I've witnessed that twice and coaches talking to the players any kind of way is unacceptable, not to mention all the trash talking that goes on across the internet which is not a good way to be teaching these young men. I'll say this I am completely shocked for this to be happening and I get that a lot of people are complaining saying why couldn't this occur after the playoffs well.... if coach Strout is stinking up the joint now what make you think he won't continue. On a continued note Miramar doesn't have a good alumni and blacks didn't start being the majority until 1994 or so going down so this sudden change had to come from the parents and the community. I don't know if you guys know but Mayor Mosley of Miramar and Miramar's principal comes to all the game well the big ones. Now on to coach Cogdell. See when he was at Miramar we went 65-13 and not once did we blow a 16 point lead, 5 point lead and a 15 point lead. Now I'll admit some games like the playoff ones should have been won Palm Beach Gardens and Northeast but overall we didn't have all this commotion and trust me when I say this which is I'm not mad at Cogdell for leaving. Cogdell received a once in a lifetime opportunity that a lot of high schools coaches want and will never receive playing at college level and for the school they played for. Anyways I believe I've expressed myself clearly and concise on why coach Strout was abruptly fired now let's finish with the remarks and criticism because I know it's coming lol.......

When Cogdell was at Miramar we didn't have these issues I mean if you play a tough opponent you'd lose the game, however we lost 3 games which easily could have been one. Again I'm not winning and congrats to Flanagan.

I blame the coach on this game and everybody else was saying the same thing. I'm not gonna wine the better team won and that's Flanagan so congrats and I'm sure will meet up again in the playoffs.

2002 6A Norland vs Edgewater

I can name some newer schools who hasn't had much success over the years in football starting from 2005 which their all in between 7A-8A.
 
1. Coral Glades senior high school enrollment 2400 students
2. Ronald W. Reagan Doral senior high school enrollment 2100 students (although their 4-0 right now their usually not) 
3. Westland Hialeah senior high school enrollment 2100 students
4. Hialeah Gardens senior high school enrollment 3100 students
5. West Broward senior high school enrollment 2725 students
6. Alonzo and Tracy Mourning senior high school enrollment 1650 students
 
Now with all of these schools mentioned what would we or could we do with them if the current classification was revised. Some might say have them independent but with enrollments of 1600 plus I just can't see that. Another option some might pose is putting them in a lower classification, however a school with 3100 students shouldn't be in let's say 4A with Booker T. Washington who only has a 960 or Cocoa with only 950 students. As of now I really don't know what should be done but I think I previously stated this in that I think everything is fine the way it is and 8 classifications is good enough.

@BrowardHandicapper I agree with you a 100%. I've been saying this for a while but Flanagan has never had a win against Miramar and their schedule thus far won't help them out at all. Yes they're 4-0 but who have they played that's competition. Now I do think the game will be close with Miramar winning of course.
