I believe so. If BTW wins both those games that winning streak will not be ending in 2015 that is for sure. If it ends it'll be in one of those two weeks. I still think they'll win their 4th straight title regardless of whether they go undefeated or not. 

I rep Miramar and of course I'd like them at 15-0 but that's a hard card to pull. 2009 season had only one lost which was to St. Thomas 14-1 with a state title and In 2011 we went 13-1 and the only lost came from Plant state title game. So again, I'm not knocking anybody and sure I'd love for a 15-0 season but I'd take something else along with a state title. I don't know why people feel like you must go undefeated for a superior season shoot winning a state title should be the ultimate goal if you ask me.

They maintain themselves typically in terms of how close the schools are, but also just on pure tradition. BTW and Central are kind of writing their tradition right now, but those kids mostly all know eachother and don't live too far apart.
On the other hand if you look at a rivalry like Northwestern/Jackson and all the history behind it that alone keeps the fans and alums coming to the games. That game has lost the luster it had in the 90s and 00s but is still a big time game. At least to those schools. 

It would be tough, but it might be a neat little project to do sometime!

Great post! I think you are right though. As teams in North Florida rise up and begin to compete a little more it'll make the state better as a whole. However, with Central, BTW, and STA dominating 4A, 6A, and 7A. It could be a bit before we see the Northern teams make an impact in those classes.
However, in 8A Apopka which surprised a lot of people I think proved that the North is right up there with the South in terms of competing for a title.  

@zoeboy i understand what u trying to say but like im sure u would agree with, teams in cities like miami dont have long runs of dominace, it usally lasts a short time bc one bad year and most will start going elsewhere, miami northwestern had like 15 years of great play but it hasent stuck recently bc btw and central have started to gain all the talent so whos to say btw would be as dominate as aqunius was since but i will say they probley won a championship a lot longer ago, but they may not have, so many schools means teams may be good one year and bad the next

you can do it from going to edit profile and I think their was a option in that to do it

hey they are good I never said they were not, but without a state championship playoffs I don't feel that their should be any type of national championship, now I can see u picking best champs from each state and deciding which is best, but not with 8 in a single state, not fair to a team like aquinus who was good but never got to play them, which would have been fixed with a playoff format, especially with florida, bc 8 is a easy number to handle with a playoff like that

there are many good teams in florida that they didn't play for them to go play some team from Washington, and also I feel that we should have a state champion playoffs, I don't like having 8 different state champs

I would like to see a full history of every team, like total wins, playoff victories, head coach history, top tier players, and things like that, bc I have wanted to see how many wins each team has and be able to compare it.

A page with every helmet of every team. I think seeing all the different helmets would be really cool, I know you already have something on here for that, but it'd be great!

The real issue is the one that will never be solved. It is the unethical recruiting practices of the few elite schools who win the championships every year. I have been coaching for a long time, and it is the same few teams in each classification in every state every year that go out and get transfers to come play for them, then they stalk these 8th graders at pop warner games, give them full scholarships just for football, then the other schools who do not have those resources cannot compete with that. The FHSAA won't stop that because when those teams compete with schools from out of state, they win and make Florida look better.
 
I agree with other posters that say that FHSAA will not do anything to lose money, so reducing classifications is fine as long as the amount of playoff games does not reduce.
 
I think a few options to consider might be:
 
1) Transfer rule: unless you transfer from out of state, you must sit out of athletics for an entire school year if you transfer from one school to another.
 
2) Classifications: you need to consider the private schools. Most private schools that dominate are in that 3A class. Something needs to be done, because there are a few teams in there that recruit on the same level as college teams. Everyone knows they are doing it and no one does anything to stop them. FHSAA needs to do something about it. Bigger private schools aren't the problem, because 7A and 8A public schools have enough students to put together competitive teams. If you have over 1500 students and can't win it's because of coaching.
 
3) The winning/losing percentage thing to factor in classification is a decent idea to mull over. The NFL has a model that allows every team to have a fair playing field. The ones that do well succeed. The ones who do not do well lose. Well there is a river of unethical recruiting money flowing through private schools in this state, and I am tired of only a few teams having a real chance at a state title every year. Winning a state title should not be a pipe dream for high school kids. They all should have a fair chance. If the state does nothing, then the independent schools will increase.
 
4) Speaking of independents, why doesn't someone create a state championship for independents? A small and large school division, then have a legitimate state title opportunity for the non-cheaters.The independent coaches would vote for all teams who want to enter. If schools do not want a school to join because they feel that they are cheaters, then 'the people decide'. Then maybe 90% of the schools in the state could be independent and the cheaters can all play themselves in the FHSAA classes.

Oh I gotcha. And, yeah, I saw it the day or day after Josh posted your team page. Very nice SOS. Can't wait to see how it stacks up with some of the other schools who have a history of having a very strong SOS. 

but yeah even though most think STA would blow us out I think it would be a good game hope we can face off down the line, 2 great programs going at it for the first time would get a lot of buzz into that game wether its a kickoff or non conference game, even better if its a state championship game

I remember when Columbia played in their state title game at the Swamp in 98? Maybe 97. The crowd made my jaw drop I was blown away by the amount of people they brought. Regardless of location it was impressive!

My hometown team is very small yall probably graduate more in one class than our whole high schools population, Talk about apples and oranges. Anyway you guys want media attention go out and prove you can win against the best, if you want to be the man you have to beat the man. 

My bad slick. I'm bad at judging crowds truthfully. It could be 10,000 but I'll think it's 15,000+ but either way you are right!

Columbia has talent...just haven't gotten over the top yet. Great program with an amazing fan base no doubt!
