  1. Exactly! Plus I've learned how to use the record book really good.
  2. The key words was "any given". You never known. But they're always there in the mix. I should have mentioned Palmetto. Another good program always in the mix. I agree, they're not always consistent, like Miami Central, but don't ever underestimate them or refer to them as "middle school". They're all every bit a good as Columbia.
  3. Those programs are very good. And capable of beating Miami Central on any given year.
  4. How would you feel if it was say, Charlotte, Fort Myers, Auburndale or Lake Gibson?
  5. So let me ask you this: FHSAA is throwing out districts and will reclassify for the playoffs. Given that most the really large schools from Miami-Dade are opting out, I foresee a lot of schools moving up. If Columbia gets moved up and had to go through Lakeland or STA would you feel the same?
  6. I get it. No South Florida teams in the playoffs kinda makes the championship mean less but 6a is hardly a "middle school" classification. There some really good 6a teams South of I4 outside of Miami.
  7. I'm sure that was done so the weekend excess can grow more rank
  8. Thought I'd start a thread on this. Post any known schedule changes here.
  9. So how does a 1a school field a roster of 75 players? Most only have about 30-40. Either, you combined jv and varsity; recruited; or belong in 5a.
  10. Fort Myers. Lost 8-7 to Haines City in OT. OT rules back then had teams take turns from th 50 yard line and see who could move the ball the furthest.
  11. Last year Madison lost to St. Pete Lakewood. Lakewood is good 4a team and was formerly a decent 5a team. That IMO is a good measuring stick to compare Madison with.
  12. The old class 3A in the 2000s was highly competitive and had a lot of parity.
  13. Ask Jesse if they're on Madison's schedule
  14. Lake Gibson, Auburndale and Palmetto are way too high. Lakeland and Tampa Jesuit are too low.
  15. There's several that always seem to get the attention of pollsters no matter what. I figure it has something to do with being covered by a major media outlet.
  16. I believe he's referring to FHSAA's inability to reach a consensus or render a decision which has left us all in limbo. I applaud the Treasure Coast schools. At least they have a plan. Everyone else needs to follow suit because FHSAA is too slow.
  17. When you have a rivalry that is 100 years old, that's tradition.
  18. Not only that, but a large number has been in places like nursing homes where the population is high risk. I know no one who has contracted Covid19 simply living their day to day life. I for one am always out in public. I haven't been sick. The one person I know who did get Covid19 works at a nursing home. While some of the patients there have been bad sick, to her, an otherwise healthy person, it was nothing but a bad head cold that lasted 2 weeks. She treated herself with over the counter medications and now tested negative.
  19. Like I said in a prior post, form independent conferences and award a trophy and if possible maybe a bowl game at season end. It's been talked about and makes most sense.
  20. I don't understand why we can't have a modified season with no post season; run it from late September to early December. Each school district decide if they want in or cancel altogether.
  21. They're scared they might lose to a 5A school
  22. I was looking forward to having Vero on the schedule
