  1. I am right with you on these
  2. Sebring is looking good..May surprise this fall.
  3. Bet, I live near the Turnpike. I will be there.
  4. I plan on going if traffic permits. Rough coming from Palm Beach County through Broward that time of day.
  5. Lakeland is in Polk County. I would drop Southeast and Jefferson for Lakewood and Sickles.
  6. No doubt Columbia is a physical football team, but you guys don't have the thoroughbreds to deal with IMG.
  7. No, Chiles kids would end up at NFC or Leon. They have been able to keep their kids in the building.
  8. That game will be a dogfight, but I would have to lean towards the Tigers....
  9. I am pretty sure I didn't say anything about IMG recruiting kids any more than some of the other schools....I am not really sure what your point is.
  10. With Rickards and Godby kids staying put the talent pool just is not as deep as it used to be.
  11. Godby will be good. Chiles is up and coming, they should be solid. Leon I am not that sure about. They lost a lot. If I had to bet money I would say Wakulla/Rickards are 1 and 1A, Godby would be 1B, lol.
  12. I wouldn't consider Rickards a sleeper, I think they are probably the best team in the area not Wakulla.
  13. As a coach that has lost a couple of players to IMG I can tell you that the Florida kids that go to IMG are not concerned with winning a championship. They are going there to be in a collegiate atmosphere whole still in school. They go to school 4 hours a day. Dedicate the rest to their craft. They even have them take classes on mental toughness and preparedness. IMG is a factory, if you can afford the 67k, awesome. If you can earn a scholarship, awesome. They can not recruit every kid in Florida, so I can live with the few they do steal, and they do not pretend to be anything other than what they are.
  14. Being new to South FL I would love to see these matchups. The only time I have had a chance to experience S FL is in Spring games, kickoff classics, and the annual beatdowns that we got in the playoffs when I was coaching in Ft Myers.
  15. Jesuit has their best group in years, CCC is loaded!
  16. They are 6A. They have an All American RB that no one down south has ever heard of, and a few other D1 skill kids. They are in an all Pinellas County district.
  17. I am not attached to any team. I coached in Hillsborough and Pinellas for a long time. Making the move to Palm Beach county later on this month. Not likely to coach this fall so I am just a football fan.
  18. 2005 Independence High School(Charlotte NC) vs 2006 Lakeland
  19. Padded camps are just a way to get some good practice in. You can see what you have talentwise, but its nothing like the season. You don't have game prep, your not spending a week getting ready to play an opponent. Many kids will get way more reps in camps than they will get in the fall. Its just a good measuring stick to see where you are, and where you need to get to.
  20. Central 2013 vs Armwood 03
  21. Armwood is loaded. They would mop the floor with Columbia during the season. Scrimmage in a camp atmosphere with no game prep is no measure of how a team will perform in the fall. Armwood has routinely beaten up on Plant, and in recent memory went to Vegas and beat Bishop Gorman. They have the deepest unit of skill players they have ever had on offense. If they can get their OL play up to Armwood standards they will make it back to state, and have a chance to win this year.
  22. I am not complaining about the level of competition, those are both top ten programs. I just get sick of hearing folks in Texas and California talk about their top programs, but when the opportunities come to play they back out, or there are scheduling conflicts. Those TX and CA games have been hard to get since Armwood smacked Bishop Gorman and Central beat up on Katy.
