  1. Can somebody please tell me what the hell is going on down there 8A North Apopka is tops. Sanford-Seminole is also very, very good. Osceola, Dr. Phillips, Vero and yes, Fort Pierce Central are also contenders out of the north. Overall --- 8A has taken a drop.
  2. Hell Mainland must be good! Hopefully they win 6A. No shame losing to them
  3. What team in the state or nationally do you root for other than your hometown/alma mater? Mine is easy in Florida - it's Apopka. Always loved playing them and got my start in urban planning as an intern for the city. If they were in the NCAA tourney, which makes no sense, I'd pick them just because they are the "Blue Darters". Others I like are Miami Northwestern (FL), Reading (MA), Bunnell (CT), Odessa-Permian (TX), Sebastian River (FL), Sanford-Seminole (FL). Or basically anywhere my former coaches or old teammates are at. ...or do you just hate everybody else.
  4. He's the ultimate players coach because he gets to know his players on a personal level... and when he tells you, or yells at you that you did it wrong you know he's trying to bring out your potential. My favorite thing about KP was his ability to keep it fun (and funny! for real) while focusing on what to do to win and the "why". He let this Jr WR (who didn't really play) give comedy briefings after practice. Small things like that do wonders for a team, its morale, and how they play together. He reminds you that it's just a game. My one regret is that when I played for him I had a pretty bad (broken) leg injury that I couldn't recover from (I took four of the eight recommended weeks off). That was right before our kickoff classic. He had me at absolute peak condition talent wise and physically but it came crashing down with one hit. My senior year was not like my junior year and I only had a few catches due to injury --- a 50 yarder was the one I really remember. Personal story over I kind of rambled there
  5. We will see what happens this year. I don't have enough intel I just know that his formula works with players.
  6. KP was my coach at DP. Love that guy and what he did for me. Sometimes you don't really know what a coach teaches you until down the line once the years have passed
  7. DP can compete with anyone in the state and I'm looking forward to the Mainland game. I suggest you watch DP-APK, incredible game.
  8. Again it's perspective. from a pure debate perspective the heavy hitters came out and made some valid points there. My points remain as well but that wouldve made for a damn fine HSFB debate show. My name calling was spot on... metaphors fantastic. I'm beyond happy where the program is --- some fans get spoiled and want 15-0 every year. I just want us to be in the running for state and send kids to college.
  9. This weekend we'll se Dr. Phillips @ Mainland - another test. One thing Dp has done is toughen the schedule to prepare for the playoffs. After this week it'll be a running clock all the way to the second round (or third if Manatee is as off as some say). Side note: Apopka should make the final four but Sanford-Seminole is also a very good team. They beat Orange City University this past week. OCU is also a team to keep an eye on with their backfield.
  10. Captain Morgan look at the wins I posted you goon! Two title winners since 2009 have lost to DP... and one title appearance since 2010. I posted the wins AND the losses. Golly guy actually take a second to read before posting again Also once again you made 2011 a magic number because the two seasons before that didn't fit your agenda. You can't chop the stats to your liking into a bullsh!t stew and get away with it. The bottom line is this: You probably didn't see the Apopka-DP game. If you did you would know that the end result wasn't some mysterious power that doesn't allow DP to win, it was simply a great play in the end zone. This game was evenly matched and they'll probably meet again down the line. That's it... These teams are about even. That's what was learned. DP may have one of the top defenses in the state. 15 to Apopka? Who else would do that (only a few)
  11. Theres one..... go further You are severely discounting 9 teams DP beat. But your numbers are a part of a very fascinating short story with a cliffhanger. DP has lost by 8 or more ONLY 5 times since 2008 (108 games). You named four. Think about that --- 103 out of 108 were wins (93) or losses by 7 or less (10). Go Check the maxpreps history I did this in my head.
  12. 2015......... 20-19....... who was it a) giraffe, w) bo pelini, c) state runner up osceola on a pick 6 4) lieutenant dan
  13. You conveniently missed every single close loss to an elite team. Those "playing for rings". Quick tip: Begin your research with 2015 and work backwards. Your underestimation of all of the teams I mentioned, including a team that beat an Elite Miami Northwestern in the title, shows your bias. I am a numbers guy. Don't think you can only tell one part of the story. You are talking about some of the best programs in the state when you undermine the list I put together.
  14. from pr*ck to a damn good troll in one post! lol that was just savage
  15. badbird - it was called a run. You know nothing. Audible was made at the line. Captain Morgan, some big wins by year. 2015: Manatee 2014: Plant 2012: Apopka (champion), East Lake, Plant 2011: Apopka 2010: Sanford-Seminole 2009: Olympia (Trevor Siemian), Sanford-Seminole (champion) Losses have been close past three years in playoffs 2015: Osceola by 1 2014: Manatee by 3 2013: Plant by 1 We've got a tough road
  16. Legit fans are the ones who are around at 1-3! Power to ya broski
  17. Captain that's a nice backhanded compliment, thank you... it was a 5 yard game w 22 secs left, mathematically random outcome at that point... just happened to go Apopka's way.
  18. Wow what a game and wow what a night of sleep does after a loss! Two very good teams met up and I think we will see them again in the final four. DP drove down to the Apopka 5 with 22 seconds left.... First and goal with a timeout left - pass intercepted. Game over. DP took a 14-0 lead then APK stormed back... Burch for Apopka took a botched hold for two plints and that was the difference. DP has Mainland next week.... and now their last two losses to Apopka have come by a combined 3 points.
  19. Once DP goes up by 35, they don't score. The clock runs thru kickoff setup, etc. We don't rub it in. Mercy = experience for young guys. Only ran 22 plays vs Lake Mary the entire game.
  20. They do have a new offensive coordinator. Name is Gulla and they are averaging 36.3 ppg.
