  1. Huge 8A game that could be the first of two match ups between these two teams (next time would be the final four). Apopka Results Ocoee 62-7 Edgewater 78-0 DeLand 35-0 Dr. Phillips Results Wekiva 28-7 Lake Mary 41-7 West Orange 40-3 DP has a very good defense and we all know the numbers that Apopka can put up. Any predictions?
  2. Apparently the defense is BAD against the run. DP will be interesting because they have about six D1 guys in the backfield.
  3. Dillard is in no way a 21 point favorite against Hallandale. In no world. Hallandale does not need to prove that they are legit...Not against Dillard. I know you support your team but man, how many times over the past year or two have I read how legit Dillard is? Then what happens? My two cents is to stay objective because it's hard to take it seriously now. For example: I went to Dr. Phillips. Their defense is stacked. Completely stacked. Their roster screams state title. Their offense has studs all over the field but they can't put it together for long drives. It's all long plays for TD's. That will come back to bite them like it has the past few years if I am a betting man. While DP has all the talent in the world and I am an alum I cannot see them beating Apopka or Manatee late in the playoffs if they play the way they are playing now... I actually hope Dillard wins because I want you to be right...it's just like man take your foot off the gas pedal a little bit!
  4. God thing is Apopka, DP and West Orange all play each other soon. Want to see our defense against Apopka.
  5. DP has a very good defense. The offense has struggled but they are so athletic that they can break a few big plays a game and win.
  6. If 8A South plays the way they did in week one all year then they have something coming in December. - Four teams up north look like they have separated: 1. Apopka - Prolific offense once again; could score 500+ in regular season 2. Dr. Phillips - Offense struggled with 28 points; defense lights out in all outings 3. Orange City University - Two headed monster at RB with Mickens-Lingard 4. West Orange - They'll score a ton but so will some of their opponents - Others to watch out of the north: Sanford Seminole - I think they are back. Could make an elite-8 run Manatee - Basketball season is over, offense will continue to light it up Mandarin - Program on the rise regardless of talent level Lake Brantley - Their QB looked good against Boone (was achilles heel)
  7. Oh no... Another Darlington? TD as a freshman too.... uh oh
  8. Viera came out of nowhere. Yes The Rock too.
  9. The 5 I posted have basically been top 6 in region or better since 2009 or so. Some way, way longer. Merritt Island used to be a power. Palm Bay, Edgewater, Seabreeze too. Maybe Seabreeze is a bit of a stretch.
  10. DP has had it rough, playoff losses since 2009 15 - Osceola by 1 - round 3 14 - Manatee by 3 - round 3 13 - Plant by 1 - round 2 12 - Apopka by 19 (final 4, beat them earlier in year) 11 - Plant blowout - round 2 10 - Miami Central 27-42 (8a title game) 09 - Apopka 52-58 5OT (epic game, down 26-7 in 1Q)
  11. In Central Florida the regional powerhouses are... Mainland (top 10 state) Apopka (top 10 state) Cocoa (top 10 state) Dr. Phillips (80-11 since '09, 106-21 since '06, 1 title app, 2 final four, 4 regional title games. 2nd round or better every year since 2006 Osceola (state appearances and 1 title)
  12. I haven't said anything about DP and now I will. This is the best team since 2010. DP has lost its last 3 playoff games by a combined 5 points. D1's QB - UCF committed WR - USF committed WR - one D1 offer (Jr) OL - multiple D1 offers (Jr) RB/SS - multiple D1 offers DE - Nebraska committed DE - NC State committed FS - high D1 (Jr) LB - multiple high D1 offers Lots of others will go D1 but they are sophomores and juniors. They include WR (Jr) LB (Jr) LB (Jr) CB (Jr) LB (So) DE (Fr) I'm done now.
