  1. I'm obviously not a fan of the system but if it is what we are going to use I would like to help adjust it so it is better. I personally don't think class matters. I think the level of the team matters. If you did add points for playing up I don't think you should get extra points for automatically playing up vs a bad team. So with that said maybe you could award 3 bonus points if you play up vs a tier 1 team and 1 if you play up vs a tier 2 team. If the team is tier 3 or 4 they are probably not very good and not worthy of giving you extra points.
  2. Lincoln would have made you lose points
  3. Mainland could beat Norland. I don't think Dillard or Heritage will
  4. giving extra points for playing up a class is a bad idea. If you are a 5A school and you play Colonial in 8A it shouldn't give you extra points than playing Madison County in 1A. Maybe you can get extra points if you play up a class vs a top tier team.
  5. It was scheduled after the season started
  6. Baker County would mud stomp you
  7. Viera refused to make it up. Those are facts. That doesn’t mean they were scared or the worse team.
  8. me too
  9. They are 4 of the top 8 teams in the region. They deserve to be in over the others. I wouldn't call that sickening unless I had to watch my team play one of them in Round 1.
  10. apopka game counted. Apopka 37.88 Week W/L Opponent Record Percent Category Bonus Points Total Points Earned 1 W Ocoee 1-7 12.50% 4 3 38 2 W Norland 4-3 57.14% 3 0 40 3 L Lakeland 7-0 100.00% 1 3 33 4 W Dr. Phillips 6-2 75.00% 2 3 48 5 W Boone 5-2 71.43% 2 3 48 6 W Evans 3-5 37.50% 4 0 35 7 W Mandarin 2-6 25.00% 4 3 38 8 L West Orange 5-4 55.56% 3 3 23 9 O Open 0 0 10 Wekiva 7-1 87.50% 1 3 11 Oak Ridge 4-4 50.00% 3 3 24 303
  11. what guys are you talking about? Larger districts less classes would eliminate really bad teams getting in. Also you could have 2 spots to give to deserving teams that didn't finish as district champ or runner up.
  12. Norland is 4-3 Gateway is 4-4. You should get more points for playing Gateway because they lucked up and made the playoffs two years ago? I disagree. Base the teams off how good they are this year
  13. I don't care what class a team is in. It is how they do on the field or would do on the field that matters.. There are plenty of lower level schools that could compete with larger schools.
  14. treating all 8-2, 9-1 or 10-0 teams the same is ludacrous. Giving more points on what a team did in the past is even worse
  15. could keep a team out because a crappy team got bonus points. I'm well aware of how the point system is set up
  16. it isn't there fault but they shouldn't be rewarded on what a team did last year much less two years ago.
  17. and those wins should not be worth 3 points more than a similar team that didn't make the playoffs
  18. In my opinion what a team did last year should not have any impact on how many points you get this year. It is a new year and teams change quickly in high school football. Sure the traditional powers are usually good but there is so many teams that have good years and then quickly fall off.
  19. probably the best list you've done. I think Trinity Christian is too high. I thought after a bad kick off classic they showed well vs Cocoa but I haven't been impressed since week 1.
  20. Seminole is not explosive on offense. They lost their top 3 skill players last year to graduation in RB DJ Hampton, QB Kaylan Wiggins and WR Gabe Davis. The young Qb is a nice replacement to Wiggins but he is still a freshman. They don't have a WR near the talent of Davis or a RB near as explosive as Hampton. I think the major issue is the running game. They have very few runs over 20 yards and their top two RB's are averaging just over 5 yards a carry which sounds decent but for a high school that is really good they should be averaging around 8-9 yards a carry. Against good teams I'm sure this average is more around 4 yds a carry. Lake Brantley looked real flat to me against Seminole. I was impressed with Seminole's defense vs Brantley but the offense still needed work. It seems the offense hasn't really improved much probably because of the youth and lack of elite skill kids on offense. I'm sure an off season speed and strength program will help them and they will be much better on offense next year. I think they should start playing #7 on offense more. he appeared to be an elite skill player on defense.
  21. Since Viera refused to reschedule the game I wouldn't rank them over Osceola. I think all three teams you mentioned have a great shot at making the state title. Cocoa will win it all, Vero might. Viera if they get there will probably have nightmares on who is on the other side.
  22. so you think they are top 100 or just because you got them #4 in 2A they are in. 2A is really really bad after maybe the top 2 teams no one else deserves to be top 100
  23. Lake Mary was really good in 2013 and 2014 and lost to First Coast in the second round both years. Then they had two down years. I don't see this team as good as those they had back then but there is also not a team like First Coast was in this region. The next two games will show a lot. I wasn't surprised they beat OC University but I was surprised by the score. I think the Seminole game is a toss up and I would favor Winter Park. I wonder how both teams lake Mary and WP) decide to play that game because they could easily see each other again in the second round. Winter Park is already in and if lake Mary beats Seminole they will be in so the game won't really matter other than seeding and possibly home field advantage. I for one think home field is vastly over rated in high school with the exception of a few places.
  24. If they win they are above DP and Apopka. If they lose a close game they should be in between Apopka and DP. If they get blown out they should be about 20
