Great win Cocoa. Can't say that I saw it coming, but always pull for the Tigers with one exception. Keep it rolling.....
-
Fletcher, had some good teams a decade or so ago with very good athletes. Did they lose neighborhoods to new schools being build. Or did good coaching go elsewhere ?

Seeds 2,3 and 4 from 6A Region 4 will most likely be Mainland, Dillard, and Palm Bay Heritage. None of which is having a good year. The one who draws the wildcard Matanzas catches a Round 1 break. Everybody else is gonna catch hell for three rounds.
-
Some of us have been saying this from the start. With 4 wildcards per Region it looks like 3 will be coming from 6A-16. They will be seeded #5---#8. The Central/MNW winner will be #1. The loser will be #5. And play again in the second round. No way do they EVER put Dade wildcards in another region. 8 at 1, 5 at 4 7 at 2, 6 at 3 Anyway you cut it only a monster comes out of here. But if you think about it, it's right. 4 Dades have chance to get hot and win a title

I'll start with 11 new head coaches this century. Why do they leave ? Any correlation in the vast improvement of Deltona ? Orange City's football team came off the drawing board kicking a$$ with Deland athletes. Why ? At another time I'll spew my often repeated " good ole boy " theory. Too heavy for today. -
You're pretty hard on BT, Columbia. You do know them better then us having seen them more over the last few years. Outside of a slower defensive backfield they looked decent on that side of the ball. And that two-headed QB thing on offense can score some points. How they stack up state wide is beyond me. Just from reading the message boards they seem similar to Viera.
-
Darter, we're on the same wave length. I'm not a good predictor of future results (See: Hillary) , but maybe you are. Both teams are solid. BT isn't top notch in pass defense. Can Cocoa pass ? Will Cocoa pass ? Style wise total opposites. Coaching staffs ? Both are very good. Should be an excellent game.
-
No hater here, But I think BT wins.

It took two weeks and two emails to get them to remove Mainland's 24-21 victory over Pine Ridge that NEVER TOOK PLACE. And ridiculously there was a small write up on the bogus results Don't belittle yourself SportsNut. This FHSAA partner speaks volumes for the supposed competency of both organizations.

Just messing with you 'Cat...no malice. At 2-4 (I'm counting KOC) playoffs are only respectable accomplishment left.

I never saw that call #soreloser

Cocoa's head coach likes to run the ball. And they always have enough athletes to accomplish this. The problem as I see it (my opinion) is they still are pretty much one dimensional. And the QB running stud Judson is now in college. Athletic teams that stuff the box got a chance to disrupt what they do. How well they can pass when needed I don't know, didn't see it. Outside of their first play from scrimmage a 50 yd TD run they did very little in the 1st half against a Mainland defense missing three starters (#44, #7, and #4 who played some defense). Everybody knows 4A BTW has athletes. Who else in 4A I don't Know. I've seem all of Cocoa's championships. I thought they'd be better. (Judged ONLY off this one sighting, nothing more)
-
Hey Joker, good to see you're still around. Many have moved on, some are no more (speculation)
-
"Cat, I'll agree as far as both defenses are concerned. But neither offense looked championship caliber. Mainland's current "O" is a basket case, with no remedy in sight...

Classes 5-8 have 4 Regions. Each Region will have 4 District Champions, and 4 wildcards(8 teams). All District winners play at home 1st Round and are guaranteed seeds 1-4, wildcards 5-8 Round 2 and Round 3, All lower seeds travel to upper seeds. Meaning a #1 seed plays at home the first three rounds. A #2 seed only has to travel if it plays a #1.
-
You're right ColumbiaFan, I had just inserted "maybe" in front of AH-P. Man you're too quick, says the old fool
-
(IMO) Outside of maybe 5A AH-P most classes appear to be wide open. Last year's championships in O-TOWN showed the North/South gap may have narrowed. Always good to see competition. This year's "daisy chain" (A beats B, B beats C, and C beats A) might be crazy with no confirmed powerhouse, barring IMG that is....
-
Pinko's has Cocoa a 23pt favorite. I'll take 20pts Tiger, what you say...statement and all ?
-
Here you go Panther. All district winners play at home 1st round and are seeded #1 through #4 (by season seeding points) Dillard wins district and is seeded # 3. All teams seeded #4 - #8 go to Dillard EVERY GAME until Semi's( Round 4 ) Their(Dillard) 1st round game is against # 6 at DILLARD, let's say its Miami Carol City the 2nd wild card from District 16. You win game. 2nd round you play the winner of #7(wildcard) at #2( district 14 winner ). #7 wins they go to You, DILLARD. #2 win you go THERE If Dillard is the # 3 seed they only "go" to seed #1 or seed #2. 1st Round #8 at #1, #5 at #4, both winners play Round 2 #7 at #2, #6 at #3, both winners play Round 2 3rd Round #1,4,5,8 winner plays #2,3,6,7 winner 4th Round Region winner vs. Region winner Region winner vs, Region winner 5th Round ORLANDO
-
It all depends on seeding. The higher seed always plays at home,

An Independent Championship would be like a Participation Trophy. It's a piece of hardware, and it may put a smile on your face, but what did you accomplish whipping up on scrubs ? NOTHING !
-
...and what about basketball, track, etc. They move to that chump association too ? Dilliard's always been a Big Boy. No way do they "Throw In The Towel... Put Their Tail Between Their Legs... Wimp Out" .... come on Panther MAN UP.....
-
Don't worry Panther, Mainland will beat Matanzas and win District 13. Come on up...
