  1. When a retired accountant ( CPA ) claims he got his "monies worth" you can take it to the bank
  2. These two central Florida powers will finally hook up for a real game after circumstances (2015 both played St Ed's instead ) and weather (2016 hurricane Matthew ) derailed the first two years of the contract. Cocoa appears " as good as ever, " while Mainland seems to have dropped off somewhat. Still both teams are loaded with at least a half dozen D-1 players on their rosters. Speed and athletic ability is never in shortage at either campus. This match up is long over due. Only Apopka and the Osceola Kowboys in the Orlando area have been as consistently strong as these two over such a long period of time in this part of the state. The last couple of years this game would have been a toss up. Clearly Cocoa is the favorite at home in 2017. We will see.... Quote Edit
  3. Haven't seen that U School back yet, but those 2 or 3 at Miami Central can't be far behind. They can score from anywhere.
  4. OK, I get it. You think STA will take out a " Can of Whip Ass" on DFB ?
  5. But is Stranahan and Piper really that good? I don't recall any of you SoFL guys claiming they were top self.
  6. You beat me to it BrowardHandicapper. My typing skills are slow and juvenile
  7. Not to discredit the Centennial defense, but the STA offense was the weakest I've seen in years. They didn't show a lot of explosiveness on that side of the ball. The play calling was unimaginative and bland at best. The defense on the other hand was dominate and pretty much shut down the Arizona team's one dimensional run offense. The west coast ref's didn't do much good for the Florida boys out there. The disparity was large against STA. It also didn't help the home stater's by playing a make-up game Monday night and flying out west Wednesday evening to ready for their second game in 5 days.
  8. ColumbiaFan, don't let "badbird" intimidate you. Just because he's coached on some of the elite programs in central Florida for over 20yrs shouldn't be a factor...... On second thought, he does have a driver's license and you don't. Oh well, never mind...
  9. DP was the better team. They didn't appear to be as good as last years squad, but there's still a long way to go and plenty of time for improvement. Like always they have plenty of athletes. And for a change they were better on the field then Mainland's. They broke tackles, out ran the Buc's to the outside, and threw passes for first down all night long. They probably should've had a couply more scores. I'm disappointed in the results, but can't say it's a surprise. Saw some things over the summer that reminded me of some Buc teams from 8 to 10 years ago. Plenty of talent, but staff can't pull it all together. The X's and O's aren't playing to the strengths of the Jimmy's and Joe's. Over the last few years Denzel Houston's amazing athletic accomplishments masked some of these issues. From 30 rows up they aren't hidden anymore. Let's face it, Mainland's district is horrendous. Seabreeze, Pine Ridge, NSB, Deltona, and Mantanzas won't currently put fear in any playoff worthy team. Consequently, Mainland's a lock for a 24th straight berth in the championship tournament. At the moment anything other then a one and done seems remote. But hey, what the hell do I know after 200+ Mainland games in a row. Shock me Buccaneers. Make this old man cry with joy. Or better yet, make him apologize and shut the "F" up.
  10. Game hasn't been rescheduled yet, if ever. Remember the FHSAA hired Maxpreps to improve errors in team schedules and results over that C2 ?? something business they partnered with over the last few years.
  11. Mid, don't be a gentleman, I'd be blasting you if the score was reversed....fire away
  12. Damn badbird, I couldn't have said it better. You and Darter know Mainland. I will add, if the Bucs play to their potential it's another 20+ point victory. Although that Mainland team hasn't been spotted in quite some time it is still possible. It is also possible the reverse may occur. Should be a good one. The last couple of years DP looked defeated before the game started. Like they knew they were going to lose.
  13. Come on 'bull, ColumbiaFan ain't 'Canes. He's a nice young man. Still a little green, but a future keeper. Now go back to the national board and get Cut-Up by those Jersey Boys
  14. Corky Rogers is gone. Rarely does a program not have some growing pains, when a legend steps down, even if the replacement is in-house.
  15. agree 100%. But don't forget, SPCjessica2004 is a family affair. Her husband and brother, or is it brother-in-law use her account from time to time for updates and new info when she is being a wife and mother.......great football family
  16. Fella's on the national board say BG is paying to have Central stay over for a couple extra days because of the Florida hurricane....Class act
  17. Excellent high school game. Many D-1'ers out there. Two solid teams.
  18. TD pass BG ( 3rd of the night ) 24-20, :09
  19. Central run defense looks great, pass defense can be scored on.
