Probably safe to say Gio Richardson is the established QB at Oxbridge Academy.   However, Johnson appears to be athletic enough to probably play WR/DB and dominate 3A for the most part.  Surely would be a plus to that roster with some added beef to the LOS and Oxbridge would probably be back in business as a likely high probability to get back to Orlando.

Agree you put any help with Gio and like you said some more kids up front for him will be helpful

I'm not living in the past just calling it how I see it oh here some more tissue for Booker T not making the playoffs since we earn that spot lol

Lol you guys did earn it I'm pushing for Palm Beach County all day and I hope they do make it again this year but look very rough this year based off the spring

Im hearing a top 5 area recruit is leaning on spending his senior year there. Also a top player out of Martin County,

The MC kid been rumored for 2 or 3 years now of going there but never happen and I don't see it happening now with the new staff and recent success beating vero in the spring game. I don't see to many potential guys transferring there this summer I'm sure they have a few things working but where will the kids come from Dwyer? that will be tough, Pahokee? I doubt it, Glades Central another tough one with the best player being the coach son, Atlantic? No, Palm Beach Central? I doubt it I been told 3 or 4 kids left Oxbridge and went to Central, American Heritage? Possible, Cardinal Newman? Possible, Gardens? The most likely source. They have some great pieces there they just need a few more pieces to solidify a trip to Orlando just will be interesting to see who they will land

  4. That and also not at least trying to establish some form of the run game which you will think with the weather conditions but the number 4 kid pretty good. D.F set everyone back so the run game was there but they continued to throw the ball and put the defense in bad situations short field which is how DF put up that many points

How many players did Deerfield Beach dress against us how many like 80 players of course we was going down but going down with a fight you calling us down and first round exit after a spring game lol boy please gone somewhere with that mess after that game Deerfield Beach is the most feared team now man please lol

Glades Central dressed 20 something players and I'm not judging it off the spring I'm judging it off coaching, play calls, size up front and etc when was the last time glades central made it out the second round coach blackmon years 5 or 6 yrs ago maybe longer? So you think this current team will make it past first round? Second? Lol be serious and not delusional stop living in the past and look at the recent track record

    Talk to me about Glades.

    How did they look?

Glades Central will be down this year probably a first round exit if they slip in with the point system formula I felt last season booker t should have been in that spot but with the flawed part of the system Glades central got in over Booker T I don't think that will happen this year though. Glades Central only dressed about 25 kids which is crazy to think coming from a program like that but I'm sure they will have more dressing by the season but they fought hard but deerfield just had to much fire power on their side

  7. I seen this team play against a down glades central team but you can tell these guys are pretty good should be the favored coming out of 8a this year. Is this the year that DF get over the quiet hump that people put on them with always having a lot of talent and get bounce round 1 or 2. Deerfield and Vero are very similar in programs seem like both stay loaded in talent and great regular seasons and get put out in either the first or second round. It seem right now that DF has the target on them because of the transfers they received over 3 months but after watching that team last Saturday if they can put it together by mid-season they might make a decent run to orlando

  8. Those teams didn't need Vero in order to play their own Spring Jamboree, so again that's not a legit reason. The reason I can believe is that they seen a way to make some profits off their own spring jamboree I don't think Vero will ducked opponents for 2 qtrs. But if you commit to something as a coach/program show up

  9. Weather for sure is probably worst today than it was on Saturday most definitely think something fishy about the excuse of the weather. They made saw a way to get some profits from the spring game which is why that backed out Saturday and host they own spring jamboree

    POST SPRING OBSERVATIONS

I generally do not change rankings regardless of how a team does in Spring with the exception of there being a glaring and obvious change. I didn't really see that in Spring with any team.

    1) Chaminade-Madonna: There really isn't much to say here. They didn't play a Spring game, instead they had a scrimmage. Regardless, the Lions were always going to be #1 by virtue of being the defending champions and thus...they are here.

    2) Clearwater Central Catholic (defeated 6A Clearwater 38-21):  QB Rory Hicks was very impressive throwing for 5td's, 314 yards and rushing for 40. Brett Seither caught 3 of the TD's and also racked up an invite to the US national team for his efforts. Brothers Jerjuan and Jerzhan Newton had relaxed games offensively, but were aggressive on defense as both accounted for an interception apiece. Sophomore WR Richie Illiraza is an explosive young player that had multiple highlight-reel catches.

    3) Oxbridge Academy (defeated Royal Palm Beach 41-0): Oxbridge has a really good core of players with Gio Richardson, James Meeks, Antavious Lane and Dorian Jones. All 4 players should be major, power 5 players down the road. If Oxbridge can hold onto their players and maybe add a few pieces, they should coast to the state championship game. If they start losing pieces, it becomes a wide open race.

    4) Tampa Catholic (lost to Wiregrass Ranch 36-17):  The hype started early for Kiael Kelly with Big County Preps calling him one of the top players in Tampa Bay and Chip Bennett calling him a national recruit.  So- how did Kelly and the Crusaders do? Well- he's clearly going to be great- but right now he's a young QB going through growth pains.  TC has some pieces to be really good, DJ Taylor, Chris Murray and Quincy Hipps are as good as advertised. Both lines are filled with 285+ lbs linemen, but Wiregrass Ranch had no issue getting pressure on Kelly. To be fair to TC, superstar RB Jaylen Bussey didn't play, but in this game it probably wouldn't have made a difference.

    5) Florida High:  I haven't been able to find any results regarding their Spring game- nor is there any word of a scrimmage.

    Other impressions:

Calvary Christian (Clearwater): Boy was I wrong about these guys! They have a loaded roster full of talent.  If you don't know the name Makkah Jordan, you will hear it for the next 3 years. He's a CB/WR with tremendous speed and agility in the open field.  Calvary also has a solid QB/RB combination with Harold Cook who threw for 5TD's and RB Jordan Niles. Calvary also has a solid WR in Jayden Celste who made timely big plays all evening.  They also home to Kendrick Maynor a major D-1 recruit that can play multiple positions.   I can't move them into the top 5 yet, but they are clearly a team to watch.

I'm waiting for the American Heritage Del-Ray vs Lake Wales game on 5/22.

I'll update the thread as information comes in regarding made-up spring games. I'm waiting to see if OTC vs NFC occurs or not.

Oxbridge did a great job vs Royal Palm but it's hard to say how good they will be because of the level of talent they played against, yes you can say those four you mentioned is very good and I will add in #71 and #11 but they issue will be depth with only like 22 players dressing out with all of their top talent playing every snap of the game I don't know if that will work throughout the season, but if they can schedule pretty good not playing tough opponents for the most part on the level of a Royal Palm it can benefit them to probably make a playoff run back to states

This event still was a success I'm happy for them but I am embarrassed on Vero behalf smh

Palm beach central scored the most points they have the best D in Palm Beach County so it looks like an offense has taken shape there

Palm Beach Central was pretty impressive the team they played was pretty good also one of the most entertaining games today. Heard a lot of talk around the bleachers that wanted to see deerfield and palm beach central play. Weather wasn't the best but definitely playable

Ion think it's no weather Vero has a history of pulling out of challenging games I've been at games where Vero was playing in the soaking rain Vero is also one of the last teams to cancel a game when hurricanes are coming

Regardless if Vero would have won the games or not just the exposure the players would have received from college coaches at this event would have been huge for as their recruitment. Speaking of Central they have like 3 or 4 guys that's highly recruited. This game would have been a good one to watch from both ends

Look I'm not trying to bash Apopka they made it to States three years in a row in 8a nobody can beat that but he came out and butting heads with me when it didn't even have anything to do with him I was talking about OUR GAME with Muckboy and Mashburn because they act like I'm asking too many questions about my team df all I did was talk about our scrimmage from last week and the upcoming spring game smh

I was just stating that most spring games or exhibitions doesn't represent the identity of the team for the up coming year...guys only play half the game you have movements in the summer and etc but I hope Vero does answer some questions you may this spring and I would say they are going against one of our top teams locally with Central I don't know much about South Dade

The offense did look different when I saw them scrimmage each other last week, they started coach J  son but this week I found out that Celidonio was at baseball.....

We return three receivers but replacing our four year starting rb with a new o-nline, our offense is going to be different when we play Palm Beach Central and South Dade I think both games are going to help us figure out what identity we will take for the fall season.

I'm definitely going to the jamboree next week to see how our O do against a possible deep playoff team (PB Central) especially with the way their defense is. If Vero can score double digits against PB Central's shutdown defense then I'm expecting another undefeated regular season. I also wanna see how Vero can do against an athletic South Dade team, most athletic teams give Vero hell especially in the playoffs...But all questions will be answered next week at the jamboree

Lol you putting a lot of pressure on Vero for them to answer all the team questions for 3 or 4 weeks of spring practice but they will a good matchup with central i don't know much about south dade this year but next week will be interesting for as palm beach county schools from Oxbridge and RPB, all teams in the jamboree, Atlantic and northwestern, dwyer and gibbons

  15. Agree I mean we see and hear worst things than this not just from the state but we hear worst things about programs down south and this guy just went full pads a day early if he knew or not I don't see something major coming from this at all but you are right they are building a pretty good program down there
