  1. As goes the offensive line, so goes the offense! Looks like an 8-2 season with a top 3 seed in 4S for Osceola incoming. Keep up this success and maybe we’ll be able to play “Kowboys and Indians” in round 4 of the playoffs!
  2. Hope so too, but he will likely be called upon to block more than anything else. How has Osceola looked in earlier practices? Are they living up to your expectations so far?
  3. He will probably be more of a blocker/screen receiver than anything else. Venice really doesn’t have much of a passing game, so if the idea of Charles Lester, Ryan Matulevich, Jamarice Wilder, and Griffin Gisotti lining up out wide means that we can see some lighter boxes for our running backs to operate, we’re all for it.
  4. Best of luck to your Darters. Sounds like another low-scoring showdown with Columbus is approaching; hopefully with different results this time!
  5. Apopka came very close last season to winning that game over Columbus. Your Darters return 6 defensive starters from last season. It’s not ideal to lose 5 extremely solid players but you certainly have a strong foundation in place to challenge for the 3M title once again. Miami Columbus is going to have a fairly new offensive line this coming season. As long as your offense can find a way to manufacture 24 points and avoid major errors, your defensive line should get enough pressure to hold them to 17 points and win the game for you. But as usual, time will tell.
  6. Receiver Griffin Gisotti is transferring from Cardinal Gibbons to Venice for his senior season. Venice’s offense is looking more and more scary by the day.
  7. They better. Beating STA @ Brian Piccolo will be a tall task as it is already. It’s almost impossible if you have mental errors/penalties.
  8. I’ll be rooting for them, but not in week 2! Lol. But to your point, Cocoa is undoubtedly the clear cut favorite in 2S.
  9. Don't implicate me in your alternative world of lies and disinformation. There's a reason I didn't quote your original post and it was because I knew that I would never get a straight answer from you. Until proven otherwise, you're endorsing an outright lie and trying to normalize it by claiming that it is a, "well-known fact." News flash! A lie repeated over and over again is still a lie, no matter how many people believe it.
  10. Nulli I couldn't have possibly put this better than you did. Beautiful message. Who's chopping these damn onions...
  11. Deylen Platt and Charles Fleming both looked good, and the addition of Charles Lester makes our secondary extremely good. Scoring on Venice through the air will be tough. However, our glaring weakness is still the defensive line. They need more time together in the weight room and fine-tuning of their skills. Naples made our defensive line look silly at times throughout the spring game, especially in the third quarter where they were a fumbled snap at the 2-yard line away from tying the game at 35-all. There were times when their QB had 7 seconds to survey the field. Our secondary, even as good as it will be, cannot cover receivers for 5-7 seconds while the defensive line is held to a stalemate. Our brand new defensive line is a bad matchup against your Tigers, who return 4 of their offensive lineman and a veteran group of receivers that will challenge us across the board. If Cocoa is able to scheme their receivers open against Venice’s powerful secondary, Boda will probably have 4+ seconds to survey the field and find an open receiver consistently. Something needs to change in a big way over the summer. Overall, Cocoa fans should feel extremely confident about that week 2 matchup with Venice. At home, with Venice coming off a tough game against Armwood on a short travel week. Couldn’t ask for a better scenario to KO Venice. Hope ESPN picks it up.
  12. Thank you. I was just curious as to whether or not these claims had any substance. This is beyond ordinary “trash talk.” Claiming that a high school is privately working in conjunction with a university to illegally recruit transfers had better hold water, because that’s the sort of lie that could lead to a defamation lawsuit.
  13. So what did the podcast say about UM helping Miami Central/Northwestern recruit transfers?
  14. What did the podcast host say about the University of Miami supposedly assisting Dade County schools in illegally collecting transfers? That sounds to me like a MAJOR lie to defame Central/Northwestern for their success.
  15. If it wasn’t official before, it’s official now! Charles Lester, one of the top DB prospects in the class of 2024, is a Venice Indian!!
  16. The FHSAA is about to walk into unchartered territory and it will cause schools to break away from them in droves. The only way a playoff system with IMG National would be competitive is if the FHSAA set up a new format and put them in a 4 team district with STA, Miami Central, and (maybe) Northwestern or AHP. Make IMG travel for all four games and allow each team to take their bye week the week before facing them. I think STA and AHP have the coaching to beat IMG and Central’s athletes would keep them in the game for four quarters. But overall, I agree with you that putting IMG National In the playoffs would be an all-around disaster and would cause teams to leave in droves. When you recruit globally and have access to as many resources as IMG, you have no reason to ever lose a game at the high school level. I seriously hope they don’t let IMG National in, or if they do, at the VERY least put them in 3M and let STA try to beat them. The door the FHSAA is about to open will haunt them forever.
  17. I read your breakdown and thought you did a terrific job of explaining everything in a succinct, clear way. Without starting another political flamewar, what do you think this means for the future of the FHSAA? Overall positive or negative? Do you think the governor (regardless of who the individual is,) being able to select new members will contribute to the FHSAA creating a fairer district/playoff structure in the future?
  18. Naples will be fine and should compete for the 3S title once again. Your Golden Eagles nearly came all the way back to tie the game at 35 all. Our primary weakness was what we thought it would be: our defensive line. 4 new kids are starting on the line and it's going to be tough for Elijah Jones to fill Damon Wilson's shoes. Ryan Daly was able to take some double teams off of Shamar Littles which led to pressures several times. Our secondary also needs work as we have 3 brand new starters back there and it was obvious a few times. Your Eagles have no quit in them! Can't wait to see how both teams look when the season starts.
  19. Offense met my expectations. Offensive line looks extremely good. The defensive line needs work. The secondary played well but there were times where it was obvious that we have 3 new starters back there. The impact transfers that we have all played: Jadyn Glasser, Ryan Daly, Jayce Barksdale, and Ryan Browne all look like valuable pieces that will make a difference right away. It looks like cornerback Charles Lester has transferred back to Riverview for his senior season. Overall expecting a good season from Venice with a return to the state championship as the expectation. But I am certainly not overlooking Osceola, Lakeland, Manatee, Buccholz, Bartram Trail, etc. Whom all look equally as good on paper and could derail our plans with just one bad night.
  20. Venice defeated Naples 49-28 at Staver Field in their spring game. Offensive line looks good but both QB's need time to build chemistry with the receiving corps. 14 of Naples' points came off of turnovers. One of them was a pick-6 off of a batted pass while the other was an interception returned to our 7-yard line. Defensive line needs more time in the weight room and a lot of fine-tuning. There were some big plays made in the secondary, but they have 3 new starters back there and it showed. A phenomenal first half was followed by a terrible third quarter where Naples nearly tied the game at 35 all, but a fumble recovered by DT Ryan Daly led to a 95-yard touchdown drive to basically put the game out of reach. Overall, I was happy with what I saw. Venice had a great first half and did what they needed to do to close out the game. Not a bad starting point at all. Go Indians!!
  21. How is it hyperbolic? Your entire offensive line that was so efficient last season is back except for 1 person. They might not be “consensus” number 1, but I can assure you that Osceola is NOT who I want Venice to have to face in the state semis nor in the state championship. Their o-line has a whole nother year together to get stronger and perfect their skills under Coach Pinellas. So I ask again: Why shouldn’t Kissimmee Osceola at least be in consideration for the title of “best offensive line in the state?”
  22. Venice isn’t even guaranteed to make it out of their region this season. Nothing makes Venice fans bang their heads against the wall more than a loaded Manatee team. And they have all the defensive pieces they need to shut our offense down. I am not relishing having to face them, potentially at Hawkins Stadium in round 3 with a trip to the final four on the line.
  23. So Osceola returning Gunner, arguably the best offensive line in the state + an extremely versatile running back in Taeivon Swint just suddenly means nothing? They’re going to be extremely tough to stop in the playoffs. The Kowboys should be favored until proven otherwise.
  24. It's ok to admit that you get transfers. Nobody will condemn Apopka for getting a couple of them when there are far worse offenders every single year.
