I wouldn't be surprised if one day the FHSAA said any team who misses the playoffs can play. Two teams with 0-10 record playing in the "Toilet Bowl" if I was a winless team I would call the FHSAA up and say "hey you let an 0-9 team in the playoffs, the least you can do is let us play in a measly bowl game"
-
Hallandale and Taravella play in the Broward County Bowl tonight. Taravella went 7-3 and Hallandale is 5-5
-
Just stop and think about that for a second. And say it slow. An 0-9 team made the playoffs because they beat a 4-5 team at a coin flip. This is the worst trash system we ever had since Pensacola High played the first game in state history in 1905. Josh should be in the ear. Silence is complicity

Wonder if Gadsden County is gonna get a patch on their lettermen's that say REGIONAL QUARTERFINALIST!!!!!!
-
This will be the thread of bowl games and the results. Right now the first one released is... Sebastian River at John Carroll - Nov 14th

Pictures that involve an apple, a whip and a safe word. Lmao!!!
-
Josh is in cahoots with the FHSAA. He is on their payroll and will never say one thing bad about them. If not then they have him in a compromising position. Lmao!
-
It's trash. Josh needs to use his influence to voice a loud opinion to the FHSAA
-
The FHSAA is national laughingstock. They have never put the best interest of the athletes first. Whatever lines their pockets the most. Greed from a bunch of suit and tie A Holes has made our playoff system a joke. I haven't seen a worst first round lineup in all my life. What a joke. There might be 3-5 intriguing games. The rest is watered down. Terrible shame. For a state that has the personality of playing top teams and having more heart and soul than the rest of the country, this is a grave injustice. Josh, if you remain silent on this glaring problem, then you become complicit

Here is the list. I don't have the exact first year for Ely and Dillard because the all black schools are hard to track all the exact info. I have scores for both teams that date back to the 50's but I assume they are earlier. Here is everyone else in order. Ft Lauderdale 1923 South Broward 1929 Pompano Beach 1940 STA 1946 Pine Crest 1956 Stranahan 1956 McArthur 1957 Cardinal Gibbons 1962 Chaminade 1962 Nova 1964 Plantation 1964 Hollywood Hills 1967 Deerfield Beach 1970 Miramar 1970 South Plantation 1971 Cooper City 1971 Coconut Creek 1971 Boyd Anderson 1971 Piper 1971 Hollywood Christian 1973 Gold Coast Christian 1973 Hallandale 1974 Westminter Academy 1974 Broward Christian 1975 Highlands Christian 1975 Coral Springs 1976 Taravella 1981 AHP 1981 Western 1981 Douglas 1990 Zion Lutheran 1991 Flanagan 1996 North Broward Prep 1998 Coral Springs Christian 1998 Archbishop McCarthy 1999 Coral Springs Charter 2000 Pembroke Pines Charter 2001 Everglades 2003 Cypress Bay 2003 Upperrom Christian 2003 Parkway Academy 2004 Coral Glades 2005 University 2006 West Broward 2008 -

They started out as St Anthony in 1946. Then were called Central Catholic in 1952, and we're finally named St Thomas Aquinas in 1961 -

Ft Lauderdale High is the oldest team still playing football in Broward County. Dania High later named South Broward would come shortly after. -
Me neither. Ask Columbus if they beat Carol City. Lol.
-
Got cancelled. Glad it did. Game would have been a 5 touchdown blowout
-
I remember seeing that. Thanks. Probably will. Who has McArthur beaten? All slapdicks?
-
Is it Carol City? They already forfeited a game. Could that have been the tip of the iceberg?
-
Chaminade has the biggest chance to lose it playing 4A number 1 U School. Godby and Lincoln should be a close one that could go either way. im too lazy to check. Any of the other u defeated teams have a tough game tonight?

When a Team with a 57-Game Losing Streak Made the Playoffs

Didn't FAMU High and North Florida Christian reside in a 2 team district at one point meaning they clinched a playoff birth before the season started too? -
When a Team with a 57-Game Losing Streak Made the Playoffs
nolebull813 replied to OldSchoolLion's topic in The Huddle
I remember a few years back a team in Texas went 0-10 and made the playoffs. The reason is in Texas 4 teams from a district make the playoffs. Usually the districts are pretty big. About 7-9 teams. But this district only had 5 and one team folded before the season. So all 4 teams clinched playoff berths before the season started. Lol. They had to play a district champion in the first round and actually lost 64-0 as well. Lol. They had a 57 game losing steak going into that playoff game too. What are the odds? https://www.google.com/amp/s/ftw.usatoday.com/2014/11/texas-high-school-winless-playoffs/amp -
Was there any push back or protest to maxpreps getting involved in high school sports in Florida? Josh were you there? What is you opinion? This reeks of some under the table dirty politics.

Check this one. It has Orlando University, a public school playing a Texas team during the week of the 2nd round of the playoffs http://www.maxpreps.com/m/team/schedule.aspx?gendersport=boys,football&schoolid=92b040db-6dc6-4ada-af0c-f04e4f86429a
