Here are FloridaHSFootball.com’s Class 5A Rankings after Week 3. Ranking, team name, record and previous rank included for each team.

Below the Top 10 are the regional rankings for Class 5A, showing you how teams are ranked in each of the four designated FHSAA regions.

Class 5A Top 10

1. American Heritage (Plantation), 2-1, 1
Week
3: Defeated Miami Northwestern, 44-23
This Week: vs. Coconut Creek
Comment: The Patriots handled the pressure of Miami Northwestern’s defense and won last week, but the attention now turns to Coconut Creek this week, the second of three opponents nationally ranked on the schedule.

2. Hallandale, 2-0, 4
Week 3: Idle
This Week: vs. Stranahan
Comment: With the bye week coming early, Hallandale won’t get the luxury of resting when the heat of the district schedule comes next month. However, the focus now is getting a win against district opponent, Stranahan that has shown some signs of improvement during the first three weeks of the season.

3. North Marion, 3-0, 3
Week 3: Defeated Vanguard (Ocala), 42-32
This Week: vs. Pasco
Comment: North Marion took care of business at Vanguard last week and will get ready to host a battle of undefeated teams with Pasco coming up to Sparr. This will give us an idea if Pasco has improved from last season or if North Marion is starting to show that they can win games no matter how it is done as Gainesville come to town the following week.

4. Bishop Moore, 3-0, 3
Week 3:
Defeated Orlando The First Academy,
This Week: vs. Poinciana
Comment: The Hornets easily flexed a muscle against nearby The First Academy and now continues a regular season win-streak with 16 straight games won in the regular season since their last loss going back to October of 2013. Will open up district play against Poinciana this week.

5. Wakulla, 2-1, 5
Week 3: Defeated Madison County, 37-0
This Week: at Trinity Catholic
Comment: The War Eagles nabbed their first win in nearly a decade over Madison County and it was not pretty as they shutout the Cowboys at Boot Hill. War Eagles head to Ocala this week to take on a struggling Trinity Catholic program which is 0-3 for the first time in school history.

6. Jesuit, 3-0, 6
Week 3: Defeated Leto, 45-0
This Week: at Tampa Jefferson
Comment: For the second straight week, Jesuit has shutout their opponent on the field. While winning against Leto is usually nothing to write home about, Jesuit is looking like a stronger program as each week goes by. Will take on a struggling Jefferson program to open district play this week.

7. Coconut Creek, 2-1, 7
Week 3: Defeated Boyd Anderson, 46-21
This Week: at Plantation American Heritage
Comment: Bounced back last week with a prolific offense performance by J’khari Harrison, but now the second starts with district play and up first is defending Class 5A state champion, American Heritage. A win here will solidify a lot of things for the Cougars.

8. Suwannee, 1-1, 8
Week 3:
Idle
This Week: vs. Yulee at Langford Stadium
Comment: After having an early bye week, the Bulldogs should have things in place ready to handle a less than stellar Yulee program as district play opens up this week.

9. Nature Coast, 3-0, 10
Week 3: Defeated Springstead, 35-10
This Week: at Brooksville Central
Comment: Nature Coast handled rival Springstead with ease last week and will open up district play this week against Brooksville Central.

10. Rickards, 3-0, NR
Week 2:
Defeated Choctawhatchee, 36-35
This Week: at Bentonville, Ark.
Comment: Rickards is coming off a thrilling 36-35 overtime victory over Choctawhatchee last week. With the win and the 3-0 record, that is just the kind of momentum the Raiders need heading into a trip up to Bentonville, Ark., this week.

Dropped Out: No 9. Lakewood
