  1. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things for this ranking set but pretty sure Tru Prep is being disbanded and going back under the University School umbrella.
  2. Starting on Monday, June 7, FloridaHSFootball.com will be introducing a new PREMIUM Subscription Service called FloridaHSFootball.com+ (pronounced as FloridaHSFootball.com Plus). FloridaHSFootball.com+ will be a content-driven service with articles written by the FloridaHSFootball.com team along with freelancers from around the state. After many years of being a fully free website, the time has come to transition FloridaHSFootball.com to more of a hybrid approach of premium content, while still offering a lot for FREE. The biggest factor behind this is the growth over the last several years and FloridaHSFootball.com wants to be able to expand upon that. Quality journalism has a cost to it and to bring it to you, FloridaHSFootball.com feels asking you all to pay for what it cost typically for a daily coffee just once a month ($4.99 per month) will help achieve that goal. FMI and to sign up: https://floridahsfootball.com/2021/05/28/floridahsfootball-com-to-launch-on-june-7
  3. Keith Barefield Jr will be the new LG head coach, the program announced this morning. Appears to be an assistant on staff and formerly on staff at Southeastern University when his father was the HC. Former defensive analyst at Louisiana Lafayette and OC at Quincy (D2)
  4. From the way the local Daytona paper described it, sounds like attendance (which totaled a combined 25.5K for five games) wasn't the only reason the involved parties were eager to terminate the most recent contract: Parking and traffic issues were the main sources of frustration. Spectators arrived late for some games due to the gridlock up and down LPGA Boulevard, a two-lane road and the stadium’s only point of entry. The Class 8A final was delayed more than 10 minutes due to scoreboard malfunctions. Panaggio estimated the clock failed on 10 separate occasions during the week. Cell phone and internet service was often non-existent anywhere within the venue’s immediate vicinity.
  5. Big shakeups in the coaching world this week! Following the recent news of Lake Gibson's HC returning to Flagler Palm Coast, his alma mater, we have some other shakeups: John Mohring will be coaching in Georgia next season, a move he noted will benefit his family and move his career forward Jimmy Clark, in his second stint atop the Suncoast program, announced his resignation today Following a 15 year stint on staff in some capacity, HC Daniel Luque is exiting University School
  6. They will if they fill out the formal paperwork signaling their interest. Problem is most places that should be considered for the title games never formally signals their interest in hosting.
  7. Just did a quick Google search and among the first few links: 2020: 10 Wekiva players suspended (one for a year, nine others for five games). Wekiva gets no 2021 spring game and a $500 fine. Mitchell fined $500. 2018: Five Lakewood and three Lehigh players suspended for six weeks. One player for one contest. Lakewood given a $1300 fine and Lehigh $500. 2011: 10 Middleburg players (two out for a year, five for six weeks, three for one game) and 10 Leon players (four out for six weeks, three out for a year, article doesn't mention the other three's suspensions). Undisclosed fines for each school.
  8. I mean ... they have pretty good amount of Power 5 signees Well to be fair, someone had to lose. Just like the occasional loss Alabama suffers.
