  1. Agree 100%. They are permitted to openly recruit. They should not even be in the conversation.
  2. The Bartow loss was really sloppy play and penalties. A lateral attempted by the RB as he is getting tackled that goes directly into the defensive players arms. Bartow's last drive was 25 yards of offense and 35 yards of Lakeland penalties (and a horribly missed holding call). Lakeland went into that game thinking they could play around and just win it. They have been a much different team since losing that game. If Lakeland plays the way they did the last 3 weeks of the season, it is a drastically different team from the beginning of the season. So, that is the real question. Which Lakeland team shows up? The one that thought they would beat Bartow by stepping on the field? Or the one that pretty much dominated a previously undefeated Kathleen team? They have the talent, it's all about focus.
  3. No video stream that I know of. I think this is the audio stream. http://lgbravesradio.com/
  4. For anyone interested in watching: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axzD-DMNqs8
  5. Very winnable game for Dillard. Lake Gibson has struggled during the early part of this season.
  6. Lakeland aired all their home games on their YouTube channel last season. I haven't heard if it will be in the same location this season. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPeTJ_ysaNZbpbr5TqrjNoQ
  7. Lakeland Dreadnaughts. Lots of high expectations for this season.
  8. I'd be all for it. I firmly believe that tougher competition in the regular season gets you better prepared for the playoffs. You may not have a perfect season, but you're ready when it counts.
  9. Lakeland's district is interesting. Smaller in numbers, but added a quality team in Winter Haven. I'd like to see Lakeland add some good out of district opponents (cough...Manatee...cough) to get battle tested for the playoffs. I was looking forward to breaking the Osceola curse, but they look to be moving up to 8A. Out of 8 championship games only two were remotely interesting. So, while I wish something would be done, I hold out little hope.
  10. Lakeland had no answer for him in the 1st half. That, coupled with the fumbles, made it look like it could get ugly. Some nice adjustments made in the 2nd half got more pressure on him and he was really having to rush his throws. His receivers dropped quite a few wide open passes as well, once they started having to play from behind.
  11. Lakeland is going to be interesting to watch in the playoffs this year. Alot of comparisons to the 2004 team. They are loaded with Sophomores and Juniors. Defense seems to be coming together now in the 2nd year with the current Defensive Coordinator.
  12. Yep. BrightHouse Sports Network is hitting the Lakeland Double-header. Lakeland Christian tonight and Lakeland tomorrow night. Hopefully the weather will hold out.
  13. On the Pick 'ems, it has Lakeland playing Berkeley Prep. Lakeland plays Haines City this weekend.
  14. Yep. I noticed a lot of the 70's era Lakeland games I'm researching started at 8PM.
  15. No real drawbacks that I can see. The night sky and bright lights do tend to make for a more traditional atmosphere. Early season games will still have about an hour or so of light. It will definitely make it nicer for those of us that have children involved that need to be there 2 hours before game time.
