  1. Their place, LOL. Not a Lakeland fan.
  2. What year did y'all end their win streak?
  3. And instead of solving a problem they create a new one.
  4. In the mid 2000s it was STA whining because they couldn't beat Lakeland. The 2006 Lakeland team had a ton of transfers. Then in 2011 Armwood got stripped of a state title for the number of transfers they had; Miami Central who Armwood beat in the championship also had to forfeit their season. Then the state legislature started to get involved so FHSAA came up with its current policy which basically allows free agency in high school sports.
  5. We were talking about it before then. It's gotten more out of hand each year.
  6. The school choice policies in place now came about in 2012
  7. You know as well as I that these kids are transferring for athletics not academics.
  8. Before open transfers AHP never could get past the first round of the playoffs
  9. The intent behind school choice was for academics not athletics.
  10. I'm ok with a legit transfer coming in from a legit move. But when a team is getting multiple transfers from neighboring schools, it defeats the purpose of classification. I've said before, the number of transfers needs to be limited or teams need to be moved up in class.
  11. Bill Castle was an assistant for and mentored by Paul Quinn. Quinn did the same things at Bartow.
  12. That's why I say they belong in 6A or 7A instead of 4A
  13. Looking over the region I don't see anyone as consistent as them.
  14. With Jesuit moving up to 6A I think Chamberlain is the early favorite to win region 3.
  15. Let's say you 9 games set but are having trouble finding an opponent for a certain week. Your choices are some easy opponents or none at all. I'm being told by someone that it's better not to play because if you schedule the easy opponent it would lower your RPI. Personally I'd rather play than not play as I feel having a second open week hurts team rhythm; 2020 cancellations is a good example.
  16. Decent in Florida = top tier in other states. I reckon that team from Colorado thought Barron Collier was a push over. I believe Braden River also got a win over a Colorado team a few years ago.
  17. In past years you never would rank them high or mention them in your pre-season polls. I was wondering if you even knew who they were.
  18. Tampa Jesuit has been the most consistent power in Tampa for quite some time. They just can't seem to get to state though.
  19. This looks like a legit full and complete move from out of state. I got no problems with this kind of transfer.
  20. I can remember back in the mid-2000s when Lakeland was beating STA in the state championships it was the STA fans crying foul about Lakeland getting transfers. This was before the open transfer rules we have now. Then in 2011 the FHSAA threw the book at Armwood.
  21. Open transfers has totally compromised the purpose of classification based on population. In my opinion transfers should be limited by class size.
  22. From what I see, y'all played a tougher schedule in 2008 than you did in 2018.
