Scott Klees is the coach at Wakulla.  He has done a great job.

I'll be heading to Pensacola to watch the Wakulla - WFT game.  I'm hoping we can beat them but not sure....it sounds like WFT is pretty good.  We have a very young team.  Coach Klees said the other day we are starting 10 sophomores and freshmen.  I think next year we have a chance to make some real noise.
We've played pretty well this year but have a habit of letting leads slip away.  We were up on Rickards 17-0 and pulled out the win after letting them get close.  We weren't so lucky with Madison.  We were leading 27-6 with around 9 minutes or so left in the 4th quarter.  Madison scored on the last play of the game to win 28-27.
I'm hoping for a win.  I would enjoy watching a potential rematch with Godby in Tallahassee next weekend.

I will say Wakulla has improved each week.  They lost to Madison in week 1 28-27 after leading 27-6 with about 9 minutes left in the game.  I still don't know how they managed to do that....
They lost to Godby 21 - 6 but missed on some scoring opportunities.  Godby is pretty good.  Really shocked they lost to Lincoln the other night.
Wakulla is very young.  Coach Klees said in an interview the other night that they are starting 10 sophomores and freshmen.  They have just about everyone coming back next year.  The QB, Jaylon Worsham is a soph.  This kid just continues to get better each game.  He has a chance to be special.  They have several good RB's and a strong running game.  They spread the ball around to all of them....but Jaylon is the key to the offense.  He's dangerous running and throwing.
The defense has been very good this year.  They're very athletic and have two fast LB's in junior Jazonte Hicks and sophomore Keyshawn Greene(6'3" 210).  Keyshawn is being compared to former Wakulla War Eagle and current Philadelphia Eagle Nigel Bradham.
I think we can make some noise this year but next year we should have our best team since the state runnerup team from 2015...which had Feleipe Franks and Keith Gavin.
Ribault was a mystery to me....I saw where they beat Lee which is very impressive...but then seemed to struggle with Suwannee and Yulee late in the year.  I'll be making the drive to Jacksonville Friday night.  Hopefully it turns out well for us.

Hey ColumbiaHighFan I can't remember Wakulla and Columbia playing either....Wakulla High was established in 1967 when they consolidated Crawfordville, Shadeville and Sopchoppy High schools.
Wakulla's enrollment is around 1500 right now....and so many people are moving there it wouldn't surprise me to see them move up to 6A in the next 2-4 years.  We may end up in the same district as you...there aren't any 6A teams in Tallahassee.  We'll either be in a western district with maybe Niceville or an eastern district with you guys.

I'm cautiously optimistic....I think Wakulla has the chance to be very good.  Everyone is back on defense...and they were good last year.  The key is offensive production.  QB play was awful last year.  This year a rising sophomore named Jaylon Worsham is taking over at QB.  He has tremendous potential.  He moved here from Miami a couple of years ago.  He's learning the position but he will get better and better as the year goes on....
Wakulla is in a very tough district.  Rickards will be very good and look for Godby to be much improved over last year.

Rickards will be good this year.  I'm thinking they won't be as good as last year though.  Wakulla beat them in the spring game but of course that doesn't mean much.  Godby is a team to watch out for in Tallahassee.

I know Chiles has the LB that's committed to FSU but I'm not sure how good they will be....Wakulla plays Lincoln in the kickoff classic.  Lincoln hired Quinn Gray as their new coach so I think he'll have them playing at a higher level.
I think the coach for Chiles took the job at Leon.  I think Corey Fuller will have Godby challenging for the district championship as well.  They had a new QB in the spring that looked pretty good and they got the RB from East Gadsden by way of transfer.  They tied Rickards in the spring jamboree and beat Wakulla on the last play of the game with a jump ball.  Wakulla had a couple of TD's called back against Godby but I think they are going to be pretty good.
I think Wakulla will be better than they were last year.  They open up with Madison after the kickoff classic with Lincoln.

    Yep Columbiafan, Madison fan here.

Trajan,  we looked pretty good with Suwannee but I think they are down from what I can tell.  Rickards is supposed to be pretty good so that is promising that we got by them the way we did.  Are we close to the old Madison squads?  I don't think so really.  We are better than last year I think.  The difference is on defense.  In the old days we could always rely on the defense keeping us in the game with ANYBODY no matter what we did on offense.  At least the vast majority of teams anyway.  Don't get me wrong we got our feelings hurt a few times along the way but we could just about always count on the defense.  We are solid now, just not quite there.

    Trajan,
Wakulla had a great team last year.  You lost two special players and I am sure a bunch more gooduns.  You guys smoked us last year no doubt and yes we were very average last year.  I have been following Madison a loooooong time and if I had to rank Madison's teams from top to bottom for the last twenty years last years team would be dead last.  No offense to the boys or anything.  They played hard and gave it their all but we just were not very good.  I am sure you could see the drop off.  Not sure what to make of this years team yet.  How are you guys looking?

I agree with Trajan with out that fumble in to the end zone it would have been a little closer.

I was very impressed with Trenton.  You guys are very physical and have a strong defense...just eliminate the turnovers and you're going to be very tough to beat.

Yall have some pretty good players and it's no problem to tell that they play very physical and until the whistle blows, I did not see any kids (Trenton or Wakulla)  taking a play off during that game. I felt good about the performance of the Trenton team against you guys, What dont kill ya will make ya stronger!!!!

Wakulla lost there starting OT to an ankle injury on the first series of their kickoff classic. Hopefully he'll be back soon. Other than that I'm not aware of any major injuries for Wakulla.

I think they have a chance to pretty good.  On defense they need someone to step up at LB after losing Monterious Loggins to UCF...but overall they have a lot of guys back.  They will be a different kind of team offensively.  Last year with Keith and Feleipe they were a vertical team...lots of downfield throws.  This year they will have a very mobile QB...I think their offense will resemble Auburn.

As far as getting back to state....Rickards is going to be tough to beat.  Honestly, with AHP awaiting the winner of the North...not making it to state this year may not be such a bad thing. lol

Wakulla's first four are:  Trenton, Raines, Madison and Ocala Trinity Catholic....starting 4 - 0 will be difficult.
