Chaminade will challenge them but the north should be easy for them
If they can fill a schedule is bigger question
They could always schedule Cocoa again and possibly try Mainland, Mandarin, Columbia, Carol City, and BTW

Looks like the only big programs that got added to Region 3 in 7A are Manatee and Dwyer(who they had to face anyway when in Region 4). And now STA has Miramar and Atlantic in Region 4, which may add some challenge. STA still manages to miss all of the better Miami-Dade schools in the playoffs...one day, just maybe
You're right I was thinking about a different class lol.

Only ones complaining are ones who didn't get a favorable district
Only complaint I see is legitimate is tca being forced into 3A
The reason they moved up was because the Duval schools are scared of Trinity and they wanted to limit travel
They'll be back in the finals tho and I'm sure they can schedule some of the team's they've been playing while in 5A. 4A north is gonna be between Cocoa and Bolles for the most part. But 4A south is gonna be crazy especially with region 4.....region 4 is gonna be a battle. There will be at least 4 teams in the playoffs from region 4 at a minimum.

Indeed...Now let's see what happens.
Gonna be fun seeing Central vs Southridge and Belen in district play.

No more 3 or 8 team districts... I am liking this. There will of course be some complainers lol
Can't complain much. I gotta give FHSAA props they finally did something more than half way right lol.

And they actually split up the 3 headed monster of Miami's 6A district. STA is gonna have their hands full in the semifinals. I'm actually happy with what they did.

They finally got it right. Even tho there's still 8 classes I'm loving 4A through 8A. 3A is pretty much back to how it was with TCA and Chaminade. Gonna be interesting come playoff time

I would like to see Cocoa move back to the north bracket. South - University vs BTW, and North - Cocoa vs Raines in 4A would be better for the playoffs.
Cocoa should definitely get pushed back to the north side of the bracket. Brevards small classes should be north and the larger classes should be south. With 5A going either way.

Cocoa had 5 turnovers and 3 missed FG's vs Raines. They are a good match for the playoffs. The score was misleading. However Raines was ready to take advantage of Cocoa's mistakes. I can see Raines in the finals next year if they stay in 4A.
Great match. Cocoa definitely had their chances to take control of the game just like last season. Maybe they should play them in the regular season again. Possibly KOC or week 1. Make it a possible preview of the state championship game.

It's almost time for another postseason tournament
But before we have the top 64 teams in FL face off in the tournament we will need to fill out the final 4 spots
I've already completed the 1-60 teams and seeded them but I decided to use the same method as last year to get final 4 seeds (think March Madness)
Anyway here are the battles for the final 4 seeds, vote who would win each matchup and the team with most votes in each matchup once the voting closes advances
Here are the first 4 games, voting closes Thursday at Noon
61 Flagler Palm Coast 8A vs 68 Bartram Trail 7A
62 Dr Phillips 8A vs 67 Sandalwood 8A
63 Manatee 8A vs 66 American Heritage Delray 3A
64 Benjamin 3A vs 65 Osceola 8APalm Coast
Dr P
Manatee
Osceola

The answer to 2 is definitely e.Cocoa
Now that I looked at everything again Cocoa is the answer to number 6. Their wins over Godby and Glades Central were all won by 1 point. Blocked extra points

Shocking to see Cocoa with only 15 yards of rushing, knowing their history of running the ball.
Yea it was definitely a shocker especially with the athletes they have to run ball.

Congrats to Raines on the win and leading the series. 2-1. Cocoa is now 4-2 in state games. There second time making it to state 3 seasons in a row. They are also now 5-2 against Jacksonville Big 3 7-2 if you include Bartram Trails.

lmfao the play-calling sucked the entire game. I could have play-called a TD drive within the redzone with 4 plays.
True. It's hard to see Cocoa go in the redzone almost every possession in the 3rd quarter and only come away with a field goal
-
Turning out how I said. If they couldn't keep the turnovers under 3 then it would be hard for them to win.
-
Another interception. It's over now

They need someone else calling plays.
Kinda seem like they went into desperation mode or started trying too hard to make something happen in one play after that Raines passing touchdown.

I agree especially w/ only 1 T.O. left. Lucky they have time to work with. Ooops nevermind. Pick 6 for Raines. 27-14 pat no good.
Gonna be hard to come back from this one. But you never know anything is possible with the playmakers they have.
-
Raines with a pick 6
-
Welp. Not gonna lie I feel they should've went for it on 4th down. That way if they didn't convert Raines would've had their back against the goal and it could've been a repeat of the U School game.
-
Time for the defense to come up big again. Score should've been 19-14 Cocoa if it wasn't for those missed field goals
-
Raines with a big interception
-
Cocoa defense definitely making big stops.

If they don't like their placement they have to go independent for the 2 year cycle.
