I was looking through some glades central info and realized they played almost everybody in the state, from spring to the playoffs and alot of these teams were at their best too......here's a list in no particular order.....

    Played

    Miami Central 2009 spring game

    Carol City in 2009

    AHP in the playoffs

    Cocoa in the playoffs

    Dwyer in the regular season

    FP Westwood spring game 2010

    FP Central spring game 2013

    Pahokee annual rivalry

    AHD multiple years

    Dillard multiple times

    Oxbridge 2017 regular season

Although we are not were use to be, Glades Central has played and beat some of the best teams in Florida. We have total of 9 state championships appearances, 6 state championships , and  apart one of Florida’s most famous rivalry  game the Muck bowl (with the Pahokee Blue Devil)

The likes of America heritage plantation, cardinal gibbons, pine forest,  Madison County, Miami northwestern, Armwood, Etc we’ve played all of them and actually beat them.

They also hold a 2-1  record against out of state teams.  Byrnes (L), Dallas Skyline (W), Texas Denison (W)

Lately we have been down, but our Resume is LEGENDARY!
Hopeful this year we can get back on track

Concerning the "tough schedule=success theory,"...Booker T Washington should have blown Glades Central out of the water last year in the playoffs, and lost.  Likewise, BTW should have coasted to victory in the 2016 playoffs, and didn't.  Plenty of other examples out there.

The law of diminishing returns applies when it comes to scheduling.

I know this is off topic and all but Blown out the water Mr. Lion????? It was just time for BTW to lose to us. If it were to be a  blowout, it would happened or at least another lost for us. We wanted more than them.

Now if we could just get Cocoa

    2013:40-18 win

    2014: 35-7 win

    2015: 35-21win

    2016: 47-30 win

    2017: missed the playoffs

    2018: 18-16 loss

to be honest I dont know dade or broward enough to give a fair top 20. I know the elite schools there but I live in Palm Beach and am much more familiar with them. Ill give you a pbc top ten. This is strictly based on talent, Pahokee schedule is brutal so I have them high but their record may not be very good.

    1. Atlantic

    2. palm beach lakes

    3. pahokee

    4.boca raton

    5. american heritage

    6. dwyer

    7. glades central

    8. benjamin

    9. pb central

    10 santaluces

    Santaluces????

I can think of 3 teams not  on this list that can top Santaluces

    Seminole Ridge

    Wellington

    Cardinal Newman maybe Lol

I know, I wrote at top I am  really familiar with Palm beach County and only the real elite teams in broward and dade so Ill do a top ten for pbc. I think talent wise pahokee is up there, but that schedule is rough and their record may not show it. Ill throw a top 20 for all of south fl out there:

    1 Miami central

    2 deerfield

    3 carol city

    4 st thomas

    5 chaminade

    6 northwestern

    7 heritage plantation

    8 columbus

    9 gibbons

    10 atlantic

    11booker t

    12 western

    13 mirimar

    14 macarthur

    15 dillard

    16 u school

    17 palm beach lakes

    18 pahokee

    19 plantation

    20southridge

You know Dwyer, American Heritage, and Glades Central are all better than Palm Beach Lakes just saying....

Can Hawthorne do it again? No.
    Losing QB
    Losing Top 2 Rushers
    Losing all but 1 receiver
Losing nearly 19 seniors on a Roster of 35

    As for Chiefland...
Another run heavy team that loses their best rusher
Another team losing 15 seniors on a Roster of 44

    As for Pahokee
They might get Booker T Washingtoned due to their difficult schedule.

The reality is that it doesn't matter much, because they will eventually have to play Madison County. Madison isn't losing to any of these teams.

    1st off

    Booker T Washingtoned? That's a term now?

    2nd

    It depending on 2 things

Pahokee's progression though  the season and Hawthorne reloading.

If Pahokee does what I think they will, Hawthorne and even Madison county better be careful!  Pahokee to me is a tropical storm that can a  major hurricane if things go well for them.

Word is the administration at Bolles wants their new hire guy to do well. As there is a lot of pressure on the administration for him to succeed. Heard they have let some kids in they weren't letting in the last few years.

SMH, Bolles sounds like a team I know.

Is West Nassau still with that ground and pound offense? We had a playoff game with them in 2009 and their ground offense was so difficult to deal with. Don't believe they ever threw a pass. Are they still a formidable team?

They have made the playoffs last couple of years so to some extent they must be good...... They just  ran into a brick wall called Jacksonville Raines who was too much for any team in the north brackets of the 4A.

Take Raines  out the equation then you might have a state finalist in West Nassau....

As for now, they have to deal with Bolles and Cocoa.

Home opener week 1 against Uschool.

    Thoughts on that game?

    Can Pahokee compete with Uschool?

Right now that all depends on University School. If they had the team form last year, I'd say no in a toss up. I hate to say it ,but University School has good coaches and disciplined players so it should be in an interesting encounter!

I think they def got seminole ridge, clewiston, and gc. I think they got Dwyer this year, I have a feeling Dwyer is gonna be a bit down.  I dont see how they beat chaminade. I have no idea how trinity christian and raines are this year but based on past years and reputation Im gonna say those are likely losses. Dillard and U school Id say are toss ups but Id lean towards losses. That being said Pahokee has some serious talent. I saw them in spring game and they were mixing JV guys in and all their transfers did not play. You could see what was out there was pretty good and fast. THey got a whole rack of really talented transfers that are from Pahokee and moved back to play together. Add those guys in the mix and they may be a very dangerous team. Will be interesting to see what they can do against that brutal schedule. 4-6 and win states? It could happen

    Clewiston yes

    Seminole Ridge yes

    Glades Central no

Pahokee needs a winning record or at least 4-5  by Muck Bowl to show me anything..... As of now, I don't see it this year... Next year..... Maybe but not this year.

I wish them the best and hope they make some noise against these top teams

  10. Look on the bright side, technically, Palm Beach County  hasn't seen a state championship since 2013 with Dwyer.

We had team to go since ,American Heritage, Pahokee, Oxbridge, Atlantic, and even King's Academy.

(Notice 3 of them are private schools)

All have either fallen in defeat or circumstance.

If you ask me Broward doing better than us lol

Let's not forget that Carol City has not been the most consistent performer over the past 15 years.  They have had a number of losing seasons.  This year's team is not overloaded with talent on paper.  With Booker T and Cardinal Gibbons in Region 4, it's no lock that Carol City advances.  .

Ummmm you know before the playoffs Carol city was considered on of the the best team in nation..... Won a state championship not to long ago and has beat Booker t into a coma the last couple of years?

That's one way of looking at it, but whoever comes out of the region will also earn the designation of being a State team and likely be playing a football game after thanksgiving. I don't think that's anything to get depressed about.

Looking at it I would say that Glades Central is the favorite but AH Delray and Tampa Catholic aren't far behind.  AH Delray has a good team returning and TC will have an offensive line that averages 6'4, 280 with 2 star running backs.  This will be a fun region to watch come playoff time.

Both teams will have to bring it.

    We will be waiting.

Dillard && glades central use to have a lot of great matchups back in the day but I’m with you I’ll be shocked Af if we’re 9-1 with that schedule. PAHOKEE will be a dog fight home or away. Plus with that bunny rabbit chasing speed they have the athletic ability to run Dillard off the field if their not solid coached.

    We will see Dillard

I'm not sure what Dillard has returning and they have a new coach but I could see 9-1

    9-1?????

    I think  7-3

Don't sleep on Pahokee! They are not Boynton Beach by a long shot.

I think its going to be a fun match up between the  two teams... but siding with im Pahokee.

Beside.....Dillard doesn't have a great record against teams in the Muck

Dillard has to prove me wrong

I see on their roster they have alot of seniors and juniors on their team

The only thing that can answer that question is time. American Heritage is usually one of palm beach county's most dangerous teams,so I wont expect them to be a pushover by a long shot. With an  experienced team,I think they will do fine. We (Glades Central) will definitely see them in the playoffs along with Tampa Catholic, Avon Park, and Clewistion.

Time will tell with the Stallions so lets see how they look in spring and moving in to the fall.
