Folks often speak of the benefits of transfers...and there certainly can be....but I do not often hear talk of how disruptive it can be to an "existing" team, especially when a bunch of new, testosterone-filled teens with their bags already packed for college show up for practice.  Add on top of that a team with a relatively inexperienced coach, not used to managing a bunch of "all stars," and that can be recipe for failure.

If Atlantic got 10-15 good transfers last year, one might have expected them to roll over everyone they faced, and they did not.

The egos will be the biggest adjustment. I’ve been looking at the media attention and mostly the Oxbridge transfers that have been in front of the cameras, especially at Dwyer. So I’m curious to how the returning players are feeling about it. One of Oxbridge’s assistant coaches did get hired at Dwyer, so maybe he help blend the kids in.

I think at the pro level and sometimes the college level but most of the time at the high school level the team that wins in the off season movement battle usually get to Orlando or close. Atlantic last season received about 10-15 transfers and outside of Palm Beach Central and state they didn't lose a game all season. When you hand Coach Daniels guys like Gio Richardson, James Meeks, A.Lane, D'quan Thomas, J.Evans, the tight-end kid from Oxbridge, the cornerback from Oxbridge with the kids he already had coming back this team should be in Orlando if the can pull it out versus STA

I see you’re point, but I still wouldn’t say they are “by far” much better than PBC, PAhokee, or Atlantic. IF Glades  Central’s young line gels, then that will become a good game

Dwyer additions has been major this summer I believe over 8/9 Oxbridge players and a few Gardens and Suncoast this team by the far the best in West Palm and Probably 1 or 2 in 7a this season

By far? Big names doesn’t mean best team.

Here is some coaching tenures for some of the schools listed, does anyone see a pattern here?

I was doing some research and since 1993 Columbia has made 22 playoff appearances and it got me to thinking, boy i bet not a lot of teams can say they had as many or more

I discovered quite a few surprises

A total of 14 programs in FL had 22 or more in that same stretch, 9 of them being public schools

So here's the quiz, name every school with 22 or more playoff appearances since 1993 and How many they had

    Here's the breakdown

    4 teams from SFL

    4 teams from Central FL

    6 teams from North Florida

9 of the schools are public schools and 5 are private schools

Let's see who's smart enough to get this one

Glades Central has 24 in that span.

    Glades Day has 22.

I think those are the only 2 in Palm Beach County with this accomplishment.

With 12 players on the ESPN 300, I thought Broward County had to be the hottest county in the country in terms of talent.  But there is an argument to be made that a certain county in Georgia, with half of the population of Broward County and 11 players on the ESPN 300, is the richest in talent.

    Which Georgia county is it?

    Clayton

    Cobb

    Dekalb

    Fulton

    Gwinnett

FYI-Miami-Dade has 3 players and Palm Beach has 4 players on the list.

Im guessing whatever county that Grayson is in. So Gwinnett?

Does Palm Beach Gardens still need a kickoff classic?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think they will be playing Glades Central. Martin County supposedly backed out of the KOC with GC.

Why Dwyer? How bout Glades Central, or Pahokee, or Palm Beach Gardens?

Dwyer maybe, but Glades Central and Pahokee very rarely get transfers from the coast unless the kid grew up out there or has family that lives out that way. Gardens can't seem to hold on to there players.

Heard the same thing also that he was in a 3 QB battle over there to be honest the kid can go to Dwyer or any other program that is on the verge and bring them over the hump I don't think PBC was the best move for that kid I know going to PBC was the sexy move this off season but all moves are not the best one.

Yea, I'm hearing that the district is saying that Wellington is his home school. The fine print in the new transfer rule is that the school must have room to accept you. So maybe PBC is at capacity. So if he doesn't get in, its probably be Dwyer if they have room or another private school such as American Heritage.

Only 1 team has ever won 3 FHSAA playoff games at the Muck...meaning they won at Pahokee or Clewiston or Glades Central or a combination of wins against those teams at their respective home fields.  Which team is it?   Take a guess!:D

    Bartow

    Chaminade-Madonna

    Cocoa

    Fort Meade

    Frostproof

    Haines City

    Immokalee

    Monsignor Pace

    Rockledge

    Tampa Catholic

As soon as I'm away a few days, you come with Muck Quizzes. LOL. And i knew the answer to all of them.

    Funny

If it wasn't for oxbridge closing we would have a quiet 2 weeks with transfers

Anyone hear about any transfers? This thread is starving

Hopefully its over. Give the Coaches time to get their teams rolling with only 30 days left for practice to began.

In his senior season, this running back from the modern era led his team to its first and only state title game appearance against a team that was also making its first title game appearance.  He turned in one of the better rushing performances in state title game history, scoring 4 TD's and rushing for over 200 yards.  His team's rushing game was so dominant in that title game, their qb only attempted one pass the entire game.  He rushed for over 2000 yards in his senior season and also played as a linebacker.  He later attended the University of South Carolina, where he played as a defensive back.  Although signed by NFL teams, his NFL career never took off as hoped.

Who is he and for what team did he play?

    Emmanuel Cook
