When I was at Western, we had two rivals: -Cooper City (traditional rival, the "Hog Bowl", back when the schools were the only ones out west in Broward). -Cypress Bay (developed when Cypress opened and took kids from Western for relief. Proximity of the schools and theyre in the same district.)

The answer to the original is question is no, you're not a rival just bc you play in every sport. You could be in the same district for every sport and not necessarily be a "rival". When I think of different rivalries, I think of rivalries developed by history (the Soul Bowls), prestige (Carol City/Northwestern/Central), a school coming about to take students away from another (Cypress Bay/Western), neighborhood/proximity (Muck Bowl/Carol City vs Norland/NMB vs North Miami Beach)

There's already a pretty good private school in the relative Miami Gardens area (Monsignor Pace) and they're not poaching from the Carol Citys and Northwesterns of the County like that. I mean they're a solid team but not major players. And it's not like Columbus takes away all of the major players from the southern half of the county either.

Is Boynton Beach gonna be improved from last season?

I saw Boca up close against South Broward. They’re solid. QB is good, they play hard and execute. Not a ton of athletes but the ones they do have can make plays. Defense seems a little smallish and could get bullied against bigger teams. But they’ll be good. Like @Mashburns said, it’ll be tough for them to make the playoffs because of their district. But they’ll make Atlantic and Park Vista work hard

02 Ely is a good one. Tyrone Moss and the two linemen Andrew Bain and Cyrim Wimbs.

I was impressed by Velez. If he stayed at North Miami, they would have been a contender in the region in my opinion. He looks like he’ll be a huge addition for Northwestern
