  1. While I would have agreed with you 100% a couple years ago...longest road trip ever for Vero to start the season against a state ranked team as well as back to back scheduled games against a very good Venice team and American Heritage, Viera as well...while I agree that the streak has been helped by scheduling I believe Vero has come out of its shell the last few years due to changes in playoffs

  2. Jury still out on QB and the defense seems to have a problem stopping the run...as usual...TC and Vero have had close games the last 3yrs all single digits...and missing two weeks for the hurricane is rough for a team that’s trying to get a new QB to gel with new receivers

  3. Five more wins to get to sixty. Here’s the schedule to get them there:

    Merritt Island

    centennial

    Port st lucie

    @ Treasure Coast

    Chaminade Madonna

As you can see it’s not gonna be easy. I would rate them from easiest to hardest as PSL, centennial, Merritt Island, Treasure Coast, and Chaminade....as someone who has seen every game the last 10yrs I unfortunately think they lose to Chaminade and TC..My biggest concern is losing to M.Island which is a decent possibility

I don’t know how good Vero is yet...but I don’t think they are better than Atlantic regardless

no doubt...but I thought they were plainly making a breakthrough with their run game and eliminating some of the need to be desperate.  Maybe I am the only one who saw it that way.

I agree...when the turnover happened I was surprised that they tried to get slick instead of pounding the rock.

Thanks to @nolebull813 for stepping up to help run this.

I am going to go with most of the games NoleBull suggested except two. While I like the Rockledge/Ware County game, I feel like I can go better there. I don't want to overpopulate the pick' ems with the out-of-state teams and I think two is enough with the Miami Central and Aquinas games already. Also, I don't think Godby/Lincoln is going to be as good as looks on paper. Looks can be deceiving sometimes... maybe I am wrong.

  7. So I was looking at the final regular season power rankings and I’m a bit confused....so Vero goes 10-0 and beat seven playoff teams and there final ranking is 22...meanwhile Venice finishes 6th at 9-1 including a 22 point loss at home to Vero where they didn’t score in the second half...does head to head not come into play?

  9. Let’s see...Vero has beaten Venice and Pahokee who are on your top 50 both on the road and beaten Westwood Wellington treasure coast, who beat cocoa on the road, and centennial on the road...so that’s five potential playoff teams not to mention 53 regular season wins in a row and your saying it’s an eye test thing? Veros QB went for 9-13 for over 300 yds against treasure coast...

I have been catching what I can of Vero streams this year.  If Vero was playing a Deerfield Beach or South Dade last night, I think it would have been ugly.  If they were playing any of the top 10 8A teams ranked behind them right now in our poll, I would bet against them.  Sorry Vero fans, just my honest opinion.

All good teams have off days...just ask Armwood about that first game...the difference between good and possibly great teams is overcoming adversity when you don’t have your A game....Pahokee is a really good team with good fan base and home field advantage...Vero is a good team but some people act like they defending state champs or something...that hasn’t happened since the early 80s...it was a good hard fought  victory against a good opponent on the road when not playing your best football
