  1. Well what do you think their issue is? I really don’t see a single game on their schedule so far where I would be willing to bet against them. Not heavily, at least. A lack of strong coaching?
  2. I can see them winning all of those games. Dillard has almost their entire roster intact from last season and has already received around 8 transfers. The only team I see handing anything to them is STA but they get them at home this year; I'm expecting Dillard to pull out the W there.
  3. We got Brook Bentley, Senior quarterback from Gaither. I’m a little upset that Michael Valentino won’t get his chance to start this season, but the good news is that he is only a sophomore; he has one more year to learn and grow, and will shine as Venice’s starter in 2023. Cameron Herring, sophomore linebacker from Cardinal Mooney has transferred to Venice. This is all I have so far. I will let you know when I receive more info. STA would beat the daylights out of IMG. Would be a lot of fun to watch.
  4. They need to schedule each other at some point. I still believe that STA would kick the absolute crap out of IMG.
  5. Don’t know if you saw my original message, but can you ask your coach if there is anyway that the Central game can be moved? We have 2 bye weeks at the moment with Palmetto backing out of our week 8, and we can come to Dillard Week 3.
  6. Awesome schedule so far! Do you know if STA has IMG scheduled this season?
  7. We can come to the Panther’s Den Week 3 if your coach can move some things around...
  8. I don't see a single loss so far, sir!! We should try to schedule a game if the metro/suburban split falls thru for this season!
  9. Meant to write 28 instead.
  10. Awesome schedule for the Cowboys. @Jesse, what say you?
  11. It never should have been a tied ball game; Lakeland got way too complacent up 35-7 and STA saw some daylight and pounced. Overall a boring game marred by Lakeland mistakes that let STA back with a chance to win in overtime. Crazy final sequence in the 4th quarter and overtime for STA to have a chance.
  12. No whistles? Shoot, that would be the most fun game of football ever played! Run, Forrest! RUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNN!!
  13. The NFL draft is almost upon us. Feel free to use this thread for all things related to the draft (if any of you so choose.) Looking forward to some great discussions surrounding this topic.
  14. Football would not be the same without you guys!
  15. Do they have to pay interest on their “LOANS!?”
  16. All of their head coaches seem to move on to "greener pastures" every year. Kevin Wright is a tight-end coach at Indiana State now (his home state,) and Bobby Acosta went from Syracuse, to IMG, to getting a job at Del Valle in Texas. Awesome football minds, no doubt!
  17. I was only being facetious; we’re glad you’re here, That S—T WAS FUNNY! Awesome name!
  18. What happened to your "one and only" post?
  19. An awesome musician, no doubt. One of the best ever!
  20. Awesome schedule!
  21. They have a new head coach and several kids on the team have been transferring out for some reason. Trust me, I don’t really follow IMG’s offseason myself; for whatever reason, they’re hard to get excited for.
  22. He can't post anymore; you're barking up the wrong tree.
  23. Northwestern is reciprocating the trip from last year, so no harm or hard feelings are present on either side of those coaching staffs. I am not sure which parts of the schedule are home and home series, but you are correct that district games will flip every year unless Venice is relocated into a larger district next year. (And rightfully as they should, 3 team districts help nobody.) Road games are a lot of fun, and the kids don’t get to have the experience of playing in someone else’s stadium. It’s going to sting because the seniors aren’t getting the fun of bus rides to away games or the experience needed of traveling. If they make it to the 4A suburban state championship, I think it’s going to feel uncomfortable because they will have to travel 3 hours to Fort Lauderdale to play in front of a hostile crowd. It could definitely poorly affect the way they play. My final thoughts are these: having 9 home games reflects poorly on your program because it makes you seem unwilling to travel and in need of Home Field Advantage. That shouldn’t be the case, but unfortunately it seems that way this year. Maybe Venice could afford to travel out of state in 2023 or at least have 4 or 5 away games with all of the money they will make from home ticket sales this season. But I don’t like having all of those home games that reflect poorly on your program. They’re unnecessary.
  24. We will get more away games next year. Don't know why it happened this way this year.
  25. The preseason game is IMG National, the week 9 game is IMG varsity. Their varsity team is good but not great and usually plays strong public schools around the state. They don’t travel out of state.
