  1. They can defeat whomever they play. Dillard is going to be ranked within top 10 in Florida this coming season with all of these transfers they’re getting. I will favor you guys against STA at home this year. Big time revenge game for sure. By your reaction to the Panthers’ opponent, I’m guessing it’s someone like either St. Frances or Saint John Bosco, but I could be wrong. We have two ESPN games ourselves this year; IMG and SFA. A victory in either of those 2 games would make me immensely happy. But I will be rooting for the Panthers against whomever they play. Anyone except Venice, that is. Then I don’t know ya sir!
  2. We need a preseason game, a week 11, a week 7, and a week 4 now. Will tell him right away.
  3. He’s not great but he’s at least a serviceable passer and might be able to flourish elsewhere. Cleveland is obviously a horrible organization and was bound to ruin themselves if they thought Baker wasn’t the long-term solution, But I’m still surprised by the way they just threw him under the bus. Watson might end up being a good QB for the Browns but making your day-one starter sit behind a guy who was suspended for a year with sexual assault allegations is completely incorrigible.
  4. Please don’t feel the need to change your schedule on my account. Life can be hectic sometimes and I don’t want you to get stressed thinking you HAVE to go to the game and miss a trip or something otherwise important just to cheer on your alma mater. Basically, don’t screw up your life to meet some dumb fan who likes Venice football. Lol
  5. Best of luck to your Naughts as well. I believe that this will be a great contest and will say a lot about both teams’ ability in the regular season. Assuming that I’m able to make it without interruption, would you like to meet before the game?
  6. So you're going to root for Venice after they run back to their bus with their tails tucked!? FAIR COMPROMISE!
  7. I bet you'll be rooting for Venice when they play on May 19th, RIGHT???
  8. I hope so too. Steel sharpens steel, always!!
  9. Falcons and Panthers both look to be pressing the reset button with Matt Rhule wanting a new qb and the Matt Ryan trade for Marcus Mariota. The Bucs should win their division with only the Saints standing in their way. I don't think Mathiu wants to sign with the Saints; didn't he say he didn't feel comfortable in New Orleans? He will improve whatever team he signs with as he is proven and a good safety. I'm surprised Mayfield hasn't been traded yet. The way Cleveland treated him is nothing short of disgraceful. Kevin Stefanski and James Haslem should be ashamed of themselves for throwing Mayfield under the bus and making comments such as "we need an adult at quarterback." I hope he lands with the Steelers just to spite them.
  10. The Chiefs just signed Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Great replacement for Hill but the Packers seem to be hurting; spending millions for Rodgers but losing two valuable pieces in the process. Tampa is bringing in Keanu Neal from Dallas. Going to be great for them after losing Whitehead to the Jets; at only 26, he could be a long-term solution for the Bucs if he pans out well at safety.
  11. Venice @ Lakeland May 19th at 7pm.
  12. IMG have lost to public schools before (Naples, Columbia,) and Miami Central nearly had them in 2017. Lakeland could easily hang with the Ascenders and maybe even pull the victory on a good day. You say there’s no good reason to play them; don’t you want your Naughts to have a chance at a national championship?
  13. With that being said, I wish Lakeland would schedule a game against IMG. I think the Dreadnaughts would have a great chance against the Ascenders on a good day!
  14. Venice doesn’t have to be the overall better team to defeat St. Frances; they just have to be the better team for 2 hours on Friday night when 9/16 rolls around. When Coach Peacock scheduled IMG in 2017 he wanted to beat them to have a chance at the national championship. Unfortunately, in spite of a really hard fought defensive battle they could not get it done. The Ascenders have crushed us twice since then, in 2019 and 2020, including a brutal 49-7 beatdown against SFA in 2019. I can assure you that the Indians are not scheduling either game with the expectation of a 21+ point loss. Those kids don’t want to get their butts kicked, they want to win the damn game. We have major unfinished business with both teams. On any given Friday or Sunday anything could happen on the field so the game has to be played. Both IMG and SFA are obviously amazing teams but a few mistakes in the game could mean that Venice brings in a shiny W against a national powerhouse. Just have to wait and see what happens but I think Venice will have a decent chance in either game if they play a strong game and limit their mistakes.
  15. Going to be an awesome game. Wish we could have had a spring jamboree with you guys.
  16. I must be thinking of someone else, then. Thought he was the transfer. He actually played a really solid game against Venice last year in the first half. A shame they couldn’t at least make the second half as competitive.
  17. Wasn’t Riverview's quarterback last year, Will Carter, a transfer from IMG? My father actually knows his parents and there was now way they could hope to pay anything close to what IMG charges annually without some sort of financial aid. If so that would make sense why Browne Transferred, because a 2-QB system helps no one. Neither person likes relinquishing their starting spot to share time and as a result not much work gets done because the offense has to scramble on and off to meet the needs of its Qb. It’s kind of like the Carolina Panthers’ situation last season; Darnold and Newton shared time and they brought 5 wins to their team after a 3-0 start. Sheesh.
  18. I don't like taking kids from other schools but usually we get 3 or 4 a year. We don't have any so far to my knowledge but it is unfortunately bound to happen. Most great programs get some and I'm sure Osceola will get a few as well; a sign that kids want to play for the Kowboys' great program.
  19. I certainly hope to see the Naughts again but I haven’t heard anything about the spring game. Could be another Jamboree like last year but I’m not sure what will happen if the schedule isn’t released soon; infuriating considering that we are already 3 days into April with no real indications yet.
  20. We return Keon Sears, Alvin Johnson, Austin Bray, and Jamarice Wilder on offense as well as 2 starters on the offensive line. Our Quarterback will be Michael Valentino who looked excellent as a backup to Brown last season when he saw the field in blowouts. Smooth passer who isn’t entirely mobile but willing to take off for yards when necessary. On defense Kintigh and Wahington return but the two edge rushers will need to be replaced. The defensive backfield remains somewhat in tact from last year but the losses of Harris, Weston, and Smith will be felt. They need to replace quite a few starters but I feel that they have the manpower to do it. Time will tell but I think that this year’s Venice team has a decent chance at winning at least one of their games against IMG, or SFA. We will have to wait but I am excited to see what happens. Go Indians!
  21. No more week 3 needed. 9/16 Saint Frances Academy @ Venice LFG!!
  22. Would be a good game and likely would have Venice playing both Cocoa and Rockledge in one season. An awesome pair of games against two teams that will be heavily favored in 2A. Apparently, Madison County and Venice both need Week 10’s. How funny would it be if they scheduled each other and Jesse wasn’t hear to discuss it! Lmao
  23. Port Charlotte hasn’t played Venice since 2012. Sarasota, Riverview, and North Port are on the schedule now because we share a district. At least Naples is stepping up to the plate. They might actually give Venice a decent challenge.
