  1. Coincidentally, Jesuit was referred to as Tampa College High before 1940
  2. That’s right!! They been playing since at least 1924 and were Jesuit’s main rival. I believe they stopped fielding a high school team in the 60’s
  3. Check. From Brandon High
  4. Enough with all this “horseplay”. You won’t spoil it. I posted them to be answered. Lol. Let C what you got McCoy!
  5. I proudly called this years ago on the national board that once the new rule is implemented basically letting public schools play by the rules as the privates Lakeland will be back to beating STAs ass. You cant call yourself a true competitive organization and have teams not playing by the same rules. When STA would have double digit transfers from Miami to West Palm no one batted an eye. But when some local Polk County stud wanted to play for the best coach in state history everyone got up in arms. Now every team can acquire talent how they see fit, and everyone can play under the same rules.
  6. I’m gonna post 5 questions at a time and see if anyone knows the answers to these fun facts 1. Tampa Catholic began playing varsity football in 1963. They are considered Jesuit’s arch rival. Since Jesuit has been around since the 20’s, who was Jesuit’s main rival before 1963? St. Leo High 2. What color did Armwood have in their uniforms when they were playing in the mid 80’s? It was an homage to the team they relieved due to overcrowding. Maroon 3. Name every team from Hillsborough that has won a FHSAA Football State Championship. Armwood, Plant, Jefferson, Jesuit, Blake and Pinecrest 4. When Tampa Catholic began playing football they were referred to something other than the Crusaders. What was the name? The Colts 5. Plant City merged with 3 other schools in 1972. What was the name of all 3 schools? Marshall, Pinecrest, Turkey Creek
  7. Do you have the scores from those weeks? Weekly scores, or just the end of year record for the seasons?
  8. Thanks Laz Do you have any complete histories of any teams from around the state?
  9. Apparently there is a team in Daytona beach called breath of life Christian Academy. Or Simply BOLCA Prep. I don’t trust Max preps either. They are on West oaks Academy schedule as of now. Also another team name i never heard of before was Piney Grove Academy from Broward. I seen their name on some schedule. And a charter school in Polk County I can’t remember the name. Apparently they are playing Vero Beach
  10. I will let you know about Pensacola Lighthouse. The first year they played, they beat some MS team 14-7. I don’t have the site pulled up in front of me.
  11. Does Titusville have anything left? They went 0-10 and play some crappy New Jersey team this year. Does Titusville have at least one player who can play?
  12. Cocoa will need all the help they can get against Hoover
  13. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Toph_Award
  14. How in the heck didn’t Zain Gilmore from Robinson not win it in 1997 when he won Mr Football given to the best player in the entire state???
  15. Before the 1960’s teams were crowned mythical state champions. There was publications in the state who unofficially crowned them but since there was no playoff, it was all moot. Teams would recognize based on points systems who the champion was for the entire state. Especially at the a time when there wasn’t that many teams. So usually the undefeated team took the “crown” In 1925 Pinellas County’s greatest team ever was able to make the claim as “State Champion”. They beat every single power in the state at the time enroute to an undefeated season capped off by beating the Georgia State Champ in a postseason bowl game. They played 10 games and only allowed 3 points total. 9 shutouts. Gotta be close to a record. Here was the results to Pinellas County’s One and only Football State Champion 1925 (10-0) Arcadia 13-0 Sarasota 60-0 West Palm Beach 42-0 Key West 95-0 Hillsborough 30-3 Lake City 55-0 Miami High 21-0 Duval High 3-0 Ft Myers 26-0 Atlanta Tech,GA 13-0
  16. These Indians are not native to America. They are native to India. They traveled to present day America from South Asia and it was estimated that half died on the journey. So going back was out of the possibility. So they were essentially stuck here. Historians and scientists have traced Nordic Vikings back to this land further than the native Indians.
  17. Terrible news. Political correctness runs everything. When does it stop? Will they get rid of Hawks, and Falcons for people who have phobias to birds? What about people allergic to dogs? Etc shaking my dam head
  18. Here’s a good one. Ernest Ward won the class A title in 1979 beating Aucilla, Jax UC, and then Benjamin in the title game. From 1963, all the way up until 1994 when they combined with Century to make Northview they only make the playoffs once going 1-1 Ultimate one hit wonder
  19. Choctaw also won in 1990, and outside of that one run, they have a lifetime playoff record of 14-15
  20. Buchholz won the title in 1990 and since 1997 they are 4-12 in the playoffs. Outside of getting crushed by FWB in the semis in 95, they have been routinely bounced in the early rounds, or just missed the playoffs altogether
  21. Apalachicola fielded a team from the 1930’s until 2006 when they merged with Carrabelle High to make Franklin County In 1968, they won the class C title when they only had to win 2 games to win the title. Beat Cardinal Mooney 26-0 then Moore Haven 22-0. They might be the only team who can say they shutout all their opponents in the playoffs. Lol. After that, from 1969-2006 they only made the playoffs twice and lost both times
  22. Merritt Island hasn’t been good since I was a glimmer in my mama’s eye. Lol
  23. Brentwood Academy lost to 2 teams last year they were both behind CCC in the national rankings. A couple hundred spots behind CCC. So they are definitely beatable. If I was a betting man I would take BA straight up, but that’s why they play the game!!!
