Well, last week I attended the Atlantic Del Ray game where they had a WR named exactly like the one I witnessed playing for West Boca Raton in Week 1. After his 3rd TD reception it caused me to investigate because I thought how unusual that the two receivers had the same name. It was not a common name like Smith, Jones or even Wilson. Well, blow me down, it’s the same guy. He has 247 profiles for both schools. I then searched the internet for the news of the midseason trade to see what West Boca Raton had received in return but strangely I found no such news report. He’s really good so I would like to know the terms of the trade. Maybe it was for cash or a future draft pick. Was the player able to transfer his NIL deal to his new school? Inquiring minds would like to know.
Sir, you are spot on highlighting Dillard's Strength of Schedule. Of the top 50 in MaxPreps, 49 of them have a positive rating like +20, +30, +40 etc.. while Dillard is the sole team making this group with a minus number (-2). Arguing Dr. Phillips is a statement game assumes the strength of teams in the Orlando area. I would argue that the entire group of better teams aren't nearly as good as they were last year for whatever reasons. I do understand Dillard's frustration as I felt that way last year and proved to be right making it all the way to the state final. So, my advice to them is to keep their powder dry and make a VERY deep run into the playoffs for your justification. Don't confuse me thinking you shouldn't be ranked higher as I know nothing about your team and unless I saw them play I can't make an honest assessment. As others have rightfully pointed out, the remainder of the schedule is also weak including district games so win out (10-0) and you will easily qualify for the playoffs. That my friend is the time to make NOISE, because now means nothing.
It has been reported on X that Senior QB Daniel Pangallo (6'2", 195) has transferred from Spoto H.S. to Venice.
I don't have any background information regarding the specifics of the transfer (family move? new job for the kid's mom or dad?), but I can't help but wonder if it is purely football related.
While I am somewhat surprised that a kid would transfer four weeks into the school year/football season, I'm not the least bit surprised that Peacock has once again lured a QB from the Tampa Bay area to head south to Venice for at least a football season. I'm convinced that they just don't raise QB's in Venice.
Snarky comments aside, it appears that the current Venice QB situation is not up to Peacock's standards, and any post-season hopes will ride on the ability of a 17 or 18 year old kid to step in and improve the offense. But is it realistic to expect a kid to join a team 4 games into a season and be able to acclimate to a new system, new coaches, new teammates, new plays, etc.? I guess if the kid can throw an 8-yard hitch, he'll be half way there.

The Lightning currently have 3 Stanley Cups and the Panthers currently have just 2. Someday the Panthers might reach the level of the Lightning but as of today they have not.
