I actually think this is the future of high school football. The really big-time players are eventually going to join literal minor league type football programs for kids (this doesn't really exist yet), and those programs are going to be an entirely separate entity. The actual high schools fielding "extracurricular" sports will form their own leagues where most/all of the players are just typical high school kids who aren't seriously thinking of trying to be a professional athlete. Schools and big money minor league sports need to be separated.
He didn't appear to have a choice in the resignation.
These young and/or unknown coaches who come into very average or less programs and suddenly schedule these huge opponents should be watched very carefully. In nearly all cases, one of two things is true:
1) the program recently implemented is really good, and the program can be expected to be a major player in the future regardless of their past
2) some goofy, tricky, possibly illegal or fraudulent stuff is going on.
Wow. He's innocent until proven guilty. But, I think all reasonable people can agree you don't want to be the person Grady Judd is talking about here:
"“Not only is this highly inappropriate behavior by a teacher, imagine just how frightened this student was. Here was the head football coach who was already discussing lewd behavior, unzipping her clothes, then following her into a locker room where he remarked there are no cameras, and complimenting her undergarments. This guy is a total creep, and now he's going to jail. We are not going to tolerate anyone - especially school teachers and coaches - preying on our children.” – Grady Judd, Sheriff
No, nothing new that I've heard. That said, the Heartland Conference won't start until 2026 season and with redistricting after this season, I get why some programs might be waiting. SSAA announced Clewiston joined a few days after they announced Hardee joined. I can see Clewiston in the Heartland Conference. Moore Haven is on Hardee's schedule this season. We've never played them before. Could this mean they are looking at joining too?
The KSA events lineup has been finalized in Central Florida.
The headliner by far is Cherry Creek Colorado against Sarasota Cardinal Mooney. Cherry Creek is the consensus number one team in the state.
Others include two bad games between Avon, Ohio and Spruce Creek. Also Dakota Ridge Colorado against Winter Springs. Those two are duds, heavily favoring the out-of-state teams.
Finally, you got Woodford County Kentucky against Heritage Palm Bay. And then some tiny school action between Concord, Christian Tennessee, and Palm Beach Christian prep
