If you took the 32 best teams, that would make the rest of playoff brackets look like Vermont or New Hampshire. They would start to resemble SSAA brackets
I did not
like the suburban plan because it was not fair to non suburban (unless your rig the rules to make Lakeland and Lee county a suburb schools ) metro schools who did not cheat and made huge enrollment differences in same divisions. I always have said promotion /demotion is only way to get similar schools competing against similar schools. Let cheater schools both open enrollment and private beat each other up. New open division should have been 32 teams and that would be a good start
Here are my power numbers for Regional Strength and Parity by Class for the playoffs. Note- This has nothing to do with who the favorites should be. Rather top to bottom average strength. And top to bottom parity. The lower the "parity" number, the better chance that the favorite for that region could be playing an unexpected team for the Regional Title. Personally, I've had my eye on 6A Region 1 for the last several weeks. That could be interesting.

I know ultimately it came down to the ruling by the judge presiding the case, but in fact the FHSAA still had to stand and fight for their correct decision.
Looking around the area, I see Bradenton Southeast finished 8-2 but didn't make the playoffs. I see River Ridge finished 7-3 and didn't make the playoffs. Neither are in the FIT either. Me personally, I'd rather see a bowl game with a match-up between 2 teams like this than some tournament that puts a 1 win team in. Also why I'd rather have a 12 game regular season with fewer teams making the playoffs, but with bowl games for everyone else. Like college football does.
