So what would happen if Mainland does move to 8A and still doesn't win a title.

I think it's safe to lock down Carol City as the 6A state champs.

Damn chiefs showing out again.

It's funny because Mainland's road to Orlando was by beating Central and this year they came down and scooped then out. Now Central doesn't make the playoffs, but you still have a Miami school in and it's Carol City who beat Mainland. So now Mainland wants 8A as it's new home and one would wonder if that's a good fit.

Down in Miami it's about winning and since Booker T. Washington not going to states that might of played a factor, then again Central didn't make the playoffs so who knows.

Does Cocoa have a good following I hope they show up in Orlando.

We can say the same about Mainland. Did anyone expect Carol City to beat them like that 34-7.

I said this before but someone is still going to be unhappy. Every school is not making it in the playoffs.

Okay so if Booker T. Washington wins what will it take for Cocoa to ever get over the hump. I'm thinking a possible move up in classification.

Cat_Scratch What you're saying is true but in Miami it's different. Yes kids do transfer into other schools but a lot of the talent come from the neighborhoods. Overtown, Allapattah, Brownsville, Liberty City and Miami Gardens.

The private school factor only works in Broward. Blanche Ely is struggling just to win one game and Dillard can never pass the 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs because the talent they have went elsewhere. Granted privates get kids but so does public schools. Boyd Anderson and Deerfield Beach I'm sure got some kids in. Dade is way different. The powerhouse private school is Columbus which is down south so they only gravitate towards the Coral Gables, Southridge, Killian, Homestead and South Dade kids. Columbus will never be able to touch Carol City, Central, Northwestern, Jackson and Booker T. Washington area kids. For starters it's proximity and secondly it's school pride. A lot of these kids won't be able to get back and forth to school if they play for Columbus and a lot of kids want to play for their school/neighborhood.
