  1. Only reason I won't say it with 100% certainty is because I do not control it. But, the Lakeland boosters and athletic department are very pro-streaming for the home games. They won't stream away games during the season just because of the cost, but I would think road playoff games would garner sponsors. Although, they won't have to worry about that this year since they'll be home as long as they win this week.. On a side note......looks like Spectrum is going to monopolize the state finals....from their website: Streaming of the FHSAA State Finals is free to Spectrum customers. FHSAA FOOTBALL STATE FINALS Thursday, December 6th through Saturday, December 8th - Check back on Friday, November 30th for all of the championship game matchups
  2. I would agree. The injuries I saw players go down with didn't seem anything out of the ordinary. Either that or, as I said, Lakeland plays so slow I didn't notice them.
  3. If I recall, there were a few instances of Plant players going down last year with injuries against Lakeland. But, Lakeland is not a 'play fast' team. The QB comes to the sideline for every play and I don't know that I have ever seen them 'no-huddle'. So, slowing down a game against Lakeland really does nothing since they play very slow to begin with. All you are doing is giving Castle more time to think and communicate with his team.
  4. I don't see any way the Lakeland game wouldn't be streamed this week. I usually get a chance to talk to the booster club president each week. But with school out this week, I won't get the chance to talk to him. However, we have had alumni & boosters with businesses stepping up the past few years to cover the fee. The only time Lakeland didn't stream was last year for the first round.....and that was because they missed the deadline to apply for it. This is obviously a big game coming up and I would be quite shocked if it wasn't streamed. There are a lot of alumni that are close to the program, but live out of state.
  5. I can’t see Castle doing that. It’s going to be a heavy dose of #3 with some QB option. If they can hit a few passes to Zipperer, that will open it up even more. As I’ve said more times than I care to remember.........with Lakeland, it all comes down to discipline. If the players can keep their heads, they’ll be fine. If they lose their heads, it could be a long night.
  6. Where was it streamed? I looked on NFHS and don't see an archive of it on there.
  7. Full list of streams: https://www.fhsaa.org/sites/default/files/attachments/2018/11/15/node-40341/fb_streams.pdf
  8. Good stuff! Manatee should have the community resources to get the webcasts sponsored. That is what many of the teams do. Glad you were able to get this done for them, but it's terrible no one else on the Manatee side took the initiative to make sure this was done.
  9. Yeah. Since they haven’t given a crap about it all season and now will just swoop in and cover the finals....for a fee, I’m sure. Looks like they are charging $9.99 to watch the volleyball finals.
  10. Palmetto fumbles the next play.....
  11. Anyone know who/where/how the state finals are going to be covered? Hopefully it's not Spectrum......which is only available to Spectrum customers....
  12. Agree. Think hel’ll see a little more action once they get into tougher competition. I’d just like to see it add another dimension to the offense, which it could. His size just makes a huge difference in pulling down the ball (see catch @ Apopka).
  13. Having watched Lakeland football for 30+ years, the ‘05 team is probably the closest team I would put to it. ‘04 & ‘06 were great teams, but ‘05 was just loaded, IMO. Now, having said that, I think the upper tier competition is better now that it was then as well. Recent STA teams would blow the ‘04 & ‘05 STA teams out of the water. Only one weakness concerns me about this year’s Lakeland team......we’ll see if it gets exposed in the coming weeks or not.
  14. Zipperer needs 7-8 targets a game or more. I agree he is way under utilized.
  15. The biggest difference this year is the running threat at QB for Lakeland. The last 3 years, there was no running threat at QB. So, if the passing game wasn’t there (and it generally wasn’t at the end of the year) it was a one dimensional hand off to the running back offense. Luckily, there have been great running backs.....but having that QB threat has made a huge difference in the 2nd half of this season.
  16. That "L" team down my way would do pretty good as well with a 45 minute drive.
  17. Round 2 Lakeland will host Kathleen in a district rematch Viera will host Plant
  18. That was a hell of an INT to win it. Got it right before it hit the ground.
  19. 31-28 Oak Leaf Lincoln can now win it with a TD.
  20. Lincoln/Oak Leaf heading to OT. 21-21
  21. And his brother fired from Ridge Community.
  22. If Kathleen does upset Harmony.....that would set up the dreaded district rematch game with Lakeland.....which almost did Lakeland in when it happened last year with Winter Haven.
  23. #8Wiregrass Ranch(7-3) @ #1Lakeland(10-0) This should be running click by halftime #7Sickles(7-3) @ #2Viera(7-3) Another running clock game, by 4th quarter #6Gaither(7-3) @ #3Plant(9-1) This is a dreaded district rematch. Gaither could give them a run. But I think Plant wears them down in the 2nd half. #5Kathleen(5-4) @ #4Harmony(9-1) This one could be a toss-up.....if Kathleen can stay disciplined. Kathleen started out slow, but got better throughout the year (except the 50-0 loss to Lakeland) and I think their defense may be able to hold them in. They are missing a big piece in Brendan Gant though. I'll go out on a big limb and say Kathleen upsets Harmony.
  24. Yeah. Gaither went from 11 to 6 in one week. Crazy. If it ends up Kathleen/Lakeland in round 2, i will be mildly nervous. I hate rematches, let alone district/rivalry rematches. Last year, Lakeland beat Winter Haven 55-7 in the regular season. Then had to rally in the last seconds to pull off a 17-13 win in the playoffs.
