  1. It’s simple where to start. Contact the FHSAA and the principal of Southridge High School. The allegation is enough for questioning from the administration at Southridge High.
  2. I just want to go on the record and say that if you have inside information about high school coaches paying players to transfer to another high school, it is obvious that your sole responsibility should be to report it to the FHSAA. These are kids. The FHSAA will be informed, at a minimum, of what is allegedly going on at Southridge.
  3. Just reported to FHSAA.
  4. Has this been reported to the FHSAA?
  5. Yes, 2018..........
  6. 8A North *seems like* it may be easier to read this year than the past 3 or 4 have been. It’s almost stabilized in terms of powers by region. That may be due to 2019 and 2020 being very strong recruiting classes for Central Florida. Tons of top players return from the teams that I have ranked in my top 8.

    8A 2018

Here are some top contenders in 8A North for 2019, in somewhat of an order. 8A North (Regions 1 & 2) 1(tie) Dr. Phillips (Reg. 2) & Wekiva (Reg. 1) Osceola (Reg. 2) Apopka (Reg. 1) Seminole (Reg. 1) Vero Beach (Reg. 2) West Orange (Reg. 1) Sarasota Riverview (Reg. 2) Does anybody have an idea about 8A South? Seems like Southridge could be an early favorite. Hopefully somebody can put a list together for 8A regions 3 & 4.
  8. The reason I have Wekiva ahead of DP is because DP’s oline is a big question mark and Wekiva has an elite elite front 7. That’ll be a huge factor this year when they play.
  9. 6’5 class of 2020 QB Brenden Cyr transferred from West Orange to Dr. Phillips.
  10. Agree on Cfla for the most part.... 1. Wekiva 2. DP 3. Apopka 4. Jones 5. Osceola 6. Seminole 7. Mainland
  11. DP should be very good again. The defense returns most of its core. The offensive line needs major work and it's still not certain how we will be at QB. There is an upcoming sophomore who did well on the JV team last year. The offense has a ton of skill players at WR, TE and RB which is a major strength. Brandon Fields (RB) is one of the top class of 2020 backs in the country and was behind Alford, a senior, last season. He could surpass 2000 yards rushing this year and will be a force for any team to deal with. He will carry the offense.
  12. DeLand will be a playoff contender. They have some good young playmakers. They will probably top 15-20 in East Central Florida this year (includes Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Sumter, Seminole, Flagler, Volusia)
  13. DP off the top of my head since I played... have won bets doing this for years... check out dpathletics.net... I may provide JM with my history word doc to put up there. I have all the seasons (and losses) documented... I really focus on the losses...have those scores memorized back to the 90’s... 13-2 12-3 9-4 12-1 11-1 13-1 10-2 14-1 11-1 10-2 7-5 9-3 5-5 Best DP team of all time was either 2010, 2017, 2016, 2013 or 1997. The 1997 team went 10-0, blew everyone out, but blew a big lead in round 1 against Oviedo in the biggest upset in program history. That team could have beaten 2010 and 2017 DP, or at least was of equal caliber.
  14. The guys over at Rivals have become a joke. I’m done with that board (and site) and hope the people over there will start posting here exclusively. It is beyond imcompetence over there. Thread from over a year ago with multiple elite players... his responses show the problem. https://flavarsity.forums.rivals.com/threads/list-of-recruiting-database-additions.8837/#post-75019
  15. Low scoring game...17-10 ish
  16. Seems like these weren’t All Stars at all. They didn’t learn a damn thing playing HS ball. This will carry over into real life. Their talent will carry them for only so long.
  17. I agree 100%. I’d bet that most of us know former teammates or players that have either been killed or gone to prison. It’s an epidemic that is seldom talked about in the open and it’s obviously not just athletes. Many, many misguided kids are in prison or worse just a few years after HS. The number one indicator (in a broad sense, I am no longer talking about the Edgewater case) is typically a lack of a father figure in the home. It’s killing communties and the cycle does not end. Read the article below: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.brookings.edu/opinions/three-simple-rules-poor-teens-should-follow-to-join-the-middle-class/amp/ Three rules, 1) Graduate HS, 2) Get a Job, 3) Have kids after marriage.
  18. It's been changed from "Bad news out of Orlando Edgewater" to the current thread title. Not sure how that title implied anything bad about the school, but I changed it anyway to be extremely specific..... I said it's an issue at most schools in my post so not sure why you thought that (?)
  19. ah yes, i skipped ahead. agree. nice breakdown
  20. Gerald Anderson, 18, a senior, was shot and killed while involved in an armed robbery. He shot the homeowner multiple times. It's always extremely sad when this happens, especially given the circumstances of it occurring during a crime. Very sad because, like in many other cases, this was probably a young kid who got caught up and made a huge mistake. Other kids need to learn from this because it happens to footvball alumni from just about every school... http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/breaking-news/os-luismil-hernandez-arrested-home-invasion-murder-20180106-story.html
  21. This will reward teams with losses to high quality teams relative to teams with lots of low quality wins. I'm pretty sure this would have gotten West Orange in. Maybe they should have capped it at Category 2 to skew it further. Totally agree with not doing it for all categories but this was definitely a flaw. The disparity was too high.
  22. RIVALS AS A WHOLE has gone downhill. As many of you know I wrote for them and added guys to the database for years. A major source of the problem was the Yahoo acquisition. Nobody can make decisions. You may notice that hudl and 247 have tons more prospects (especially sophomores and juniors) and Rivals is starting to ONLY add sophomores and juniors who are elite level. Rivals will be overtaken by 247. The name brand has gone down the tubes.
  23. Did they fold the program? Please say no. That's cool Peezy. Back when Foisy/Milano/Crofoot ran it in the 90's and 2000's the program was rocking. They were a major power from the early 90's until a few years ago but have dropped off recently. Mid-Florida Pop Warner decided to only put 8 or so teams in D1 a few years ago so now the best programs (Apk, DP, Pine Hills, Brantley) have teams with 0-8, 2-6, 4-4 etc records when they never used to. All the best programs cannibalize each other and don't play the Lake Howell's, Azalea Park's, etc......Division 3 and stacking D1 killed the system. Anything to give out more trophies.
  24. He is the perfect coach for DP. I hope all the players use the title as a teaching point that they can apply to academics. If you prepare like a champion you will win! Tangelo Park, Bay Hill, and the greater DP area are all unified by this team and this athletic program and it has always centered around Football since the schools inception (went 8-2 opening year). It has become a football-focused community especially with "I Love Dr. Phillips" promoting the games so much. Alumni are starting to have kids that go to the school (which opened in '87). I'm just so happy for the coaches, players, administration, long-time teachers, my former teammates and anyone who has worked the chains, concession stand or the Pop Warner games on Saturday. It means a ton to the community. I can't understate that. Football brings the community together like few other things can! My first DP game was a 30-27 OT playoff loss to Oviedo in 1997... had just moved here and I was 9... I fell in love w the program that night in excruciating defeat... Saturday was the exclamation point! AWWWWW DP!
