Cannot happen with the current setup. You cannot use ranking alone to setup playoffs. Yes back in the 80s they did this before we had districts and only conferences. But the way the current policies are in place they cannot use a ranking system for that and if they did FHSAA would make the worse decision in its history.

Maxpreps and many other of these so called power ranking sites have never ever seen 99% of these teams play and they rank them is actually hilarious. You can input all the formulas and code all you want, until you see a team visually with your eyes ranking them is uncalled for. Whenever you take the visual aspect of a team from their game play out of the equation ranking then everything about your formula is moot. Back in the 90s and early 2000s - 2008 approx I like how the Tampa and Ledger reporters would vote. Back in the 90s many of them would actually see many games then rank the teams by that but these days people are relying on computers to rank a team. Here is the thing, many formulas are inaccurate big time.

Shouldn’t 7 on 7 help build a good relationship between your QBs and WRs? Meaning 7 on 7 helps the QBs get to know the speed and other things of each WRs and vice versa?

Just take 5A and above, do away with districts and just place them in Regions… If you are using a point system you don’t need districts whatsoever… As it is now the point system says only the top 8 teams from each district will go into the playoffs so what us the point of having districts? It doesn’t make sense having districts and let’s look at the NHL the only other sport so far that uses a point system, they use a Regional setup and it works… Last what’s the deal with the points itself… If you win give the team 2 points, if you use give the team 1 point… Then at the end of the season give the allotted bonus points to teams that played a better schedule… No sense in this current system as of now…

Add more districts. There are more schools in 5a so it would make sense to add more districts!!! BTW where did u get this because there’s nothing on FHSAAwebsite that I can find. Is this even official?

Appears to me whoever setup this proposal is in fact feeding into certain schools on the coast!!!! There’s no way many schools will go for this and in fact will go independent because the drive itself doesn’t make sense. This is just as worse whenever they had certain central Florida schools in the same district down in Miami back in the early 2000s. FHSAA can create more districts for 5A that will fix teams spread out all over the place.

Phosphate mines are moving out of Polk County may have something to do with it. Ft Meade use to be a vibrant lively town and now it looks run down. This is the cost of allowing these Phosphate Mines, come in, dig up your land and then they leave you hanging high and dry. Then parents move out to other geographical areas.

In that document you are still showing districts. Why on earth would the ADs vote against just having teams in regional only instead of districts is beyond me because the districts are at a disadvantage. Just keep the current setup, do away with districts all together and keep the current teams in their regions then top 8 are in. Its very simple. They are doing this 4A and down so why not 5A and up? Right now its not working good IMHO and going to just Regional teams and do away with districts is the way to go and makes it completely fair all around. I am curious how many ADs listen to their head coaches in each county?

5A and above do away with districts and just choose the best 8 teams from the Region… This is only fair because it will allow the current larger districts such as Tampa’s 5A Hillsborough county only district to play larger teams… Right now there are like 7 teams in that district so they are at a disadvantage because they can’t play larger teams like the other smaller 5A districts…

Mariner is 0-2 in their district but they are projected as a seed over another district team that is 2-0 in their district? Projections should not be based off current points because some teams get a lot of their points in the first half of the season while other teams gain many points and surpass other teams in the second half of the season…

They changed everything to make the smaller private schools happy!!! This is a fact not an opinion. This is why private should only play private and have their own playoffs and championships and public schools their own… FHSAA is being forced to give in to the private schools because of legislatures reps who have kids that go to private schools… Again this is a fact not opinion…What private schools want they get because of the root of all evil, money…Again this is a fact not opinion…

Unless a certain group of REFS start calling these games fairly Hardee is going to have a hard time even making the playoffs… Unless you seen the stuff I’ve seen you wouldn’t understand and I truly believe they have a chip on their shoulders for an incident that happened in baseball last season…

Simple, $$$$$ thats all its about. How? Because the way the laws are written in this state placing private schools on the same level as public schools. But public schools can’t travel to a players home in other counties and states to sit down with parents of players saying “if he come plays for us we will give him a free tuition”, while private schools do this day in and day out. But we have other states that says no to the private vs public same level because they knew that private schools basically do what they want to get players.

Oh ok yep I understand about the private school issue. We can only thank the State Legislation giving in to the South Florida, meaning Broward and Dade bums..

561 could you answer why Clewiston decided to move UP to 5A? Reasons? I thought they had it better down in the lower classification....

After AHPs HC left they can't recruit like they did down in Miami that's why!!! IF any school public or private wants to recruit or get all these transfers let them but they should be forced to play up two classifications!!!!!!
