  1. Hey Broward....how did Western move the ball on DFB? Passing or running?
  2. Dixie County is a disciplined and well coached football team. (Just ask Pahokee) All I heard last year was... how great Madison was, and how they were going to destroy Pahokee. Pahokee ran the ball down their throat. The score was 21-6 at halftime. It could have been worse but Pahokee decided to throw the ball in the second half.... WTH? This year Pahokee is much better at running the ball. So if Madison is lucky to get pass Dixie County, it should be interesting.
  3. Wacky Class 8A: Nothing is going according to plan in this corner of Class 8A. In addition to Park Vista upsetting Miramar, Davie-Western took down Class 8A No. 1 Deerfield Beach 20-17. This could prove huge for Palm Beach County teams, as the baddest 8A teams on the block are both eliminated. Now it’s assured that a local team will make it to the regional finals. Atlantic and Park Vista will duke it out next week on their side of the bracket, while Palm Beach Central will play Western. While I am sure Western won’t be an easy team to beat, I imagine the Broncos are happy they don’t have to face an extremely talented Deerfield Beach team.
  4. What did they say? As far as 1A, Madison is the only team Pahokee has to worry about. I'm pretty sure they can run through the other 1A teams.
  5. Glades Central's passing game is clicking now. Pahokee might have a problem friday. PK has got to to better defending the pass.
  6. Cocoa must be on a IMG level. From what I saw, some of those players looked super natural. I was really surprised how they dominated. Pahokee actually looked like a rural 1A team last night.
  7. Damn Pahokee! Running clock? Cocoa did their homework. Pahokee has problems with pass coverage.
  8. Team speed is Pahokee's strength. That's all they do have. Pass coverage seems to be Pahokee's weakness this year. Sounds like they don't have to worry about that tonight because Cocoa doesn't throw the ball. How is the Hawkins kid, compared to Vero's RB (Dixon)?
  9. From what I gathered. Cocoa is not big on passing the ball. I think "lil old" Pahokee may surprise a lot of you tonight. Don't say I didn't warn you.
  10. Lol...You got that right. There are no Malls, Strip Malls, Movie theaters, Arcades, or fast food restaurants in Pahokee. There is nothing else to do but play football. On a serious note...The Pahokee kids seem to work very hard, they play with a big chip on their shoulder. And they love being the underdog.
  11. The two offensive styles should make for an interesting matchup. Cocoa is a great running team, but that plays to Pahokee's defensive strength. Pahokee has kinda like a bend but don't break mentality defensively against the run. A team will get a lot of rushing yards but few TD's (Vero's RB was an example). Pahokee's team speed on defense makes it hard to run the ball all night. Newbery, Madison, and Trenton, all found that out last year. I do see Cocoa winning this game, only because PK's defense is young (many sophomores). But it will be very close. Maybe even an overtime game?
  12. Thanks for explaining this. I noticed it during the PB Gardens game, and it was evident last night also. But Pahokee's D Line pass rush is so good that, they can almost get away with it. Still a solid win against a good 8A-Seminole Ridge football team.
  13. I have never seen a Pahokee team with a bad secondary. This team can't cover receivers down field.
  14. There has to be some benifit for playing a tough schedule. A team should be rewarded for that, not punished. Especially if they were competitive in the loss. The Pahokee/Vero game was a close game until the end. I think Pahokee was scheduled to play at least six 7A/8A schools this year. That's tough for any 1A school.
  15. Vero jumped out quick on Pahokee. Vero was much bigger and had way more depth (8A vs 1A). But that game was close until the end. I also see Vero going very deep into the 8A playoffs. If Pahokee had last years QB...this year's PK team is better than last. Pahokee's QB play is inconsistent. If that kid (Pahokee's QB) get's consistent, Pahokee will have no problem repeating last years success.
  16. http://www.tcpalm.com/story/sports/high-school/football/2017/08/30/bet-you-didnt-know-vero-beach-flourishing-against-palm-beach-foes/616995001/
  17. In my opinion, a 1A school should never beat a 8A school. It shouldn't even be close. But the reality is, we're talking about Pahokee. With that said. Vero has always had problems beating Pahokee. It's not the number of players, it comes down to the number of "athletic" players. When you can match athletes with athletes, it makes for a great game! Wish I could be there...should be close...Vero will definitely NOT put up 50... Does Vero still broadcast games live via youtube?
  18. 561_Fan you are correct about that game. That was a good one. I watched BrowardHandicapper basically shyt on Pahokee all of last year..Lol. No one gave Pahokee a chance against any team week to week in 2016. I had a chance to watch them dominate a very big (and weak) Lake Worth team in the spring. But they (PK) don't appear to be as explosive offensively as last year. But that could all change with good QB play. At some point we have to give credit to the coaches at Pahokee. They do a great job at getting those kids prepared. I wouldn't count them out against any team on their schedule this year.
  19. Hometown journalism at it's finest. As a Pahokee fan, I actually didn't find it that offensive. He did get this part right: "Their game in Orlando was a different situation. The Gators were playing a Pahokee team that hit harder and ran faster than any opponent they had faced." Speaking strictly on the game of football... That Baker team would have had "major" problems with Newberry, Trenton, Madison, Fort White and maybe Frostproof.
  20. Lol...Sorry about that Tigerfan1. Forgive my passion. I'm a die hard Pahokee Blue Devil fan. Looks like you and "Joshua Wilson" must have been sitting together.
  21. Just look at the replay of the game on TV. Baker did have a decent turn out. But they had nowhere near close to 1,000 fans. That was a long trip for them. Pahokee and Glades Central fans always travel. That game could have been at Baker and Pahokee still would have had at least 1,000 fans.
  22. Tigerfan1 are you serious? Are were you high on pain medication when you were at this game? Baker (may have) had 200 people there. But I can understand that, that was a 400 mile trek for them. Just make sure Trenton is ready next year.
  23. Pahokee's first opponent this year (Wayne Hills), wins the rest of their games and wins the New Jersey group 4 State Championship. http://patch.com/new-jersey/wayne/wayne-valley-vs-wayne-hills-north-1-group-4-championship http://www.northjersey.com/picture-gallery/sports/high-school/football/2016/12/04/photos-wayne-hills-beats-wayne-valley-in-overtime-in-state-final/94981226/
  24. Wow! .....That face guarding call was horrible. The WR pushed the DB so hard, he almost fell.
