    Some interesting facts:

    • Only twice has a county had 4 teams playing for a state title-bolded below.
    • Miami-Dade is the only county to ever have 4 state champions in one year.  Palm Beach could have won 4 state titles in 2009 if not for some team named Glades Central!
    • Miami-Dade has had 3 or more teams playing for a state title 6 different times...Broward 5 times...Palm Beach and Polk Counties 4 times each.

    2018-Broward and Miami-Dade-3

    2016-Broward, Dade and Duval-3

    2015-Duval-3

    2014-Miami-Dade-3

2013-Miami-Dade-4 (South Dade, Miami Central, BT Washington, Champagnat-all won state titles)

    2012-Broward and Miami-Dade-3

    2011 Miami-Dade-3

    2010-Palm Beach and Hillsborough-3

2009-Palm Beach-4 (Glades Day, AH Delray, Dwyer, Glades Central-all except GC won a state title)

    2008-Leon-3

    2007-Palm Beach-3

    2006-Palm Beach-3

    2005-Broward and Polk-3

    2004-Polk-3

    1999-Polk-3

    1996-Polk-3

    1990-Broward-3

    1969-Hillsborough-3

Cocoa came in clutch in 2009. Continuing the Brevard v Muck rivalry.

I'm not saying they are bad.  i just think it will be high scoring.  Obviously they are in the title game.  They are a really good team and have gotten better.

I could see it being another game like last season but with more points but then again if Cocoa had the offense they have this season then that game would have been completely different in my opinion.

Cocoa has given up a ton of points.  One of the worst defenses left.  They have given up 303 points

Yea their defense isn't the Cocoa defense of old but the only game that they haven't been in was the Rockledge game. All the other losses cocoa could have easily won.

Welcome... I agree, game of the year IMHO. 32-31 Cocoa pulls out the win.

Both teams had devastating penalties that were drive killers, a game changing fumble, and both teams had a TD called back.

Both teams played their asses off.

It was one play from being a different outcome. Had University had 1 more timeout, they go for the middle of the field and a FG, instead of a sideline pass to stop the clock, which was caught on the 11, but the receiver was ruled out of bounds. So it came down to a 40 yard hail Mary which never developed and the QB was tackled at the LOS with 5 ticks left and no way to stop the clock.

The play that won the game was a 2 point Safety. Cocoa fumbled on the 1 yard line, University recovers and the next play Cocoa tackled the RB in the endzone.

Kenny McIntosh for University is a game changing everything athlete. A freak of the game at the HS level. Much respect for University.

Both teams have good QB's and the receivers made some impossible catches in great coverage, was very exciting.

Willie Gaines was definitely a big part of the win for Cocoa. He came up with the big safety and had a big one handed catch on the sideline.

As a canes fan I agree with this! Like we was going hard for Kenny McIntosh but imo he’s ok RB.. I’ll take Nayquan Wright over him every day of the week n twice on Fridays but we ain’t getting him either smh....

I know the Canes have been pushing hard for Cocoa ATH Caziah Holmes. He's a junior and just pulled in an offer from Ohio State. He's pretty solid on the U tho. Especially since they started look at him more on the offensive side instead of defense now.

It appears the vast majority will likely be leaving the stateKenny McIntosh, one of the state's top RB's, just made a hard commit to Georgia.  He had offers from FSU, Miami and UF.  At this point, it appears the Big 3 may only land one of the top 15 senior rb's in Florida.  As a comparison, 8 of the top 10 rb's in Texas are committed to Texas universities(all except #2 and #6)

What's ironic is that a number of these players are committed to schools in the ACC and SEC outside Florida that could help their teams beat the FL universities in conference play.

    Opinions anyone?

    Running Backs

    Trey Sanders/IMG-likely Alabama

    Noah Cain/IMG-Texas or LSU

    Kenny McIntosh/University School-Georgia

    Chez Mellusi/Naples-Clemson

    Nayquan Wright/Carol City-Florida likely

    Daniel Carter/St Thomas Aquinas-Kansas St

    Keyshawn King/Oakleaf-Virginia Tech

    Marcus Crowley/Trinity Christian-Ohio St

    Seneca Milledge/Dunbar-Virginia

    Glover Cook/Vanguard-Missouri

Jatarie Washington/Pahokee-multiple offers, none from FL schools

    Jouvensly Bazile/Golden Gate-Washington St

    Peter Hayes-Patrick/Timber Creek-FSU offer

    Devin Ellison/Bartram Trail-Georgia Tech

    Jalen Mitchell/Rockledge-USF and UCF offers

    Wide Receivers

    Frank Ladson/South Dade-Clemson

    Jeremiah Payton/Fletcher-Miami

    John Dunmore/Chaminade-Madonna-Penn St

    Josh Delgado/IMG-Oregon

    Maurice Goolsby/Vanguard-FSU

    Shamar Nash/IMG-Arkansas

    Brieon Fuller/Miami Jackson-Miami offer

TJ Jones/Columbia-multiple offers from FL schools

    Rashean Lynn/Cocoa-Florida offer

    Jamarkis Weston/Clewiston-Florida

    Cameron Phillips/IMG-no FL offers

    Ahmarean Brwon/Jefferson-Maryland

    Kalani Norris/Columbus-Georgia Tech

    Darrell Harding/West Orange-Duke

    Dionte Marks/Deland-Florida

I can see Jalen Mitchell at UCF and Rashean Lynn at UF. But I could honestly see them going out of state as well. They both have multiple offers including Power 5 schools out of the state.

Prediction: More than 1 Brevard County team makes the State Finals.

Who do you have? Astronaut, Cocoa, Holy Trinity, Rockledge, Heritage or Viera?

I say the best chances lies with these 3: Cocoa, Rockledge, and Viera.

At least 2 will make the Semis.

First off all were contenders second of all Vero won't be able to hide for long is the playoffs I tried to tell y'all that but everyone is still excited bout that 42-20 win over Venice Early in the season, very very similar to how Vero beat Oscar Smith early in the season last year and almost ended up on a running clock in the playoffs sooooo I'm not changing my argument because last year was THE team and this year is more of a waterdown version of that team, obviously Dr Phillips got a good coaching staff to pull out the W last night despite being down,  but it's playoffs and everything is out the window now

Think about it this way when Cocoa was supposed to have THE team when Booker T was "down" they lost. But the following year they got over that hump and won state. Could be the same story for Vero.

Well I knew Dr Phillips would pull it off, but Cen10 didn't go away without a fight, so now Dr Phillips comes to the Citrus Bowl next week.....

    Vero beat Gateway 48-6

Dr Phillips beat Centennial 34-28 OT

This is Vero's chance to get their signature win in the playoffs on their way to a state title.
